Payed 650$ for these seller said they were melrose got them looked on melrose website and the bends dont match.

Asked him why was that he said they were the older style Melrose headers from 5 years ago.

So are these melrose headers or not? the black coating he said he had done by PolyDyn

the l98 and lt1 are the same headers now.

He says these are the older version.

Tube bends look like Hedman or Hedman elite, but the head flanges don't.

For what is it worth, I helped a neighbor install a set of Melrose long tube headersin his 90. I don't remember looking like yours in the pic. They do look like Hedman Elite from the flange. My neighbor noticed a dip in his dyno hp with the headers. Had Eldelbrock Heads,HSR,32lb injectors, cam, roller rockers, etc replaced long tube headers with short tube design and picked up hp to 381hp. FYI his bottom end could not take the few hard pulls he did make let alone the trans. He really became frustrated with project when he constantly got beaten by my 55Chevy! He was turning mid 12's and once low 12's's with 373 rear gears. He has since joined the 383 club with Eagle lower end stuff and an edelbrock fuel injection system. Dyno is now 426hp @ 405 ftlbs of torque. He has not gotten to the strip yet. Sounds good and runs strong. Had the 700R beefed up also. He really put a lot of $$ in it without the return, hopefully the 383 will turn things around for him!

My neighbor that I helped with the Headers, just came over to borrow my pressure washer. His Dyno with the 383 tweeked is 476 hp @ 470 ftlbs @ 6,700. He did get it to the strip last Monday night he ran in the mid 11's. He said he made a ton of mistakes for what little performance he gained. I didn't even suggest a run with the 55< it has a brake leak anyway!

My Melrose headers have a stamp. If I remember right, it's down by the collector. I'll get a picture if I can. Those don't look like Melrose.

I talked to my neighbor with the 90 regarding headers. The Melrose he bought new through a Corvette Dist. for $750 shipped. I showed him your pics of headers and agrees that they are Hedmen for a Z-28 or Firebird. Hedmen are $300. for a C-4. Andrew from above post is correct! Melrose has a stamp on the collector. Hope this helps.

Ceramic is supposed to insulate better than stainless. Or can they do coated stainless?
