Good Morning CGs!

Well, I apparently have a list of chores to do today from the wife. I'll get at least one done (Thanks, Tommy )

Wife was upset that I spent "all day" in the garage yesterday. I had to kindly remind her that "all day" meant a couple hours from about 11:30 until 2:30 during which time I also spent the entire time with my daughter and took her for a walk. But that was all day. Go figure.

I'm hoping to track down this ignition problem today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good luck, Matt - hope it doesn't take you "all day" :-P

This morning I was fortunate enough to be in a line of cars in the left lane of the freeway, behind a responsible citizen who, in order to insure the safety of his fellow motorists, set the pace at a safe-and-sane 3-5 mph below the posted limit. I applaud the courageous actions of this stalwart member of our community, and in the interest of intergalactic safety, would like to see him take his crusade to another planet at the earliest opportunity. Like tomorrow morning.

Good Luck.

I put my Silverado up in the air yesterday to pull off the Y pipe with the cats. All 4 oxy sensors and all the exhaust nuts (even at the manifolds) broke loose on the first try, Ha. Not bad for 130k mi.
Then when I went to pull the assembly out, it won;t clear without jacking the trans, pulling the rear mount and crossmember, oops.

I'm workin' outside cause the truck's 2 feet too long to fit in the garage.
At least I get to find out how well I can weld SS with a mig (it will be fuggly).

Hummmm..... the educational system! In the last 6 weeks I have heard so much from "educational leaders" that has met so little to me. These people will agree to anything as long as it fits the current agenda. Educational speak like "rubrick, disaggreated data, norm bias data complexity based on the tire rotation at midnight compared to noon in Rhode Island(thats BS).
The feeling in our community of educators about Vocational Teachers is that we really don't have a real education and we drive pickup trucks instead of Priusssssses and our hands are always dirty and less than human. We drag our knuckles and we eat dinner viking style. So I reinforce that stereotype, so next week is White Swede Week!!

Ron, I would be LMAO, if it weren't so true. I do my best to reinforce that stereotype as well. Around here, our "real" teachers know me and actually have respect for me, but teachers in general have that opinion.

We have a few Ed.d on our staff, for the most part the staff respects me and what I do for kids. The Ed.d whom by the way can't pound a nail and bastard is a bad word to him is clueless. One thought that what I do in the classroom was barbaric and useless in a high tech society. He proudly proclaimed that he wore a dress to get out of going to Vietnam! and he wonders why his car always has flat tires. Damn hippie!

Looks like a very interesting day. I dropped off the wifes' 911 for new leather on the front seats. Got the material to spec. Price was really good. This is from my regular upholstery guy. I give him and get him a lot of business so he treats me pretty good. Went out and nursery sat for a couple hours then did some grocery shopping. Have a delivery first thing tomorrow morning then I'll resume my regular duties. Still a little on the weak side but better than a couple of days ago.

Wait till everybody has an education and nobody knows how to do anything. Have you seen how much craftsman and tradesman charge for a housecall from the Yellow Pages companies? Now tell me who's gonna be dragging their knuckles.

Brad you know only we humans can be the only true intelligent life in the infinite universe. It has to be the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels. I wonder what happened to the rest of the performing aircraft. Maybe they were over Dallas.

Grinding done, exhaust Y pipe , new cats hanging in the Silverado. Tack welded.

I'll pull it all off tomorrow (again) and weld it up.
This is only the 2ond repair in 130k mi., the other was a front wheel bearing, not bad.

Would have been if I bought the Y pipe with 2 cats attached, aftermarket price with shipping - $550.

2 Walker cats at Summit - $110

Pretty cool cats, huh?

Intelligent life is getting hard to find on this planet :-P

Just got home a little while ago from putting the Vette to bed for the winter *sniff*

Jeez Brad is it winter already up in your country? I was hoping to get another month in or so. I will miss not going on my drives when I do park it.

I know your doctor told you to get more iron in your diet, but that's the wrong way!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, men. Check the post for the most recent update. Luckily this is my toy car and not my required DD or I'd be up s--- creek.

So although you said he's never set foot in a shop other than to critique you, he really "hit the nail on the head" with his analysis? (SORRY, COULDN'T RESIST!!!)

I could've put it off for a while, but we're going on vacation for a week on Saturday, and who knows what we'll come back to. It hasn't been running great anyway, so I figured now was as good a time as any. But now it'll probably not snow until February :-P
