I just found an incredible little brew tonight that I simply enjoyed.
It's from Colorado, so should not be too hard to find. Its really pretty awesome if you like IPAs. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2681/55412 |

I think you just liked the 10% alcohol rating
It amazes me how people can drink wine/beer/whiskey...etc, and break down each flavor...look at this guy's review: Quote:

Yeah, that guy is a fruit himself! No way that beer tasted like onions. It was really good stuff. 10% and all! What a freak. I like trying out the varous craft beers that show up at our little grocer across the street. He really gets some good stuff in. |

Don, for a cruise next year, head to Milton, De. and visit DogFish Brewery - "Off Center Stuff foe Off Centered People".
They were shown on TV, show called Brewmasters. They just partnered with Sony to being out a beer celibrating Miles Davis's jazz album rerelease, "Bitch's Brew". Reataurant, too: Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats Address: 320 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE www.dogfish.com |

The best specialty brew is from Callahan Ranch Brewery, aaaaa= my house. Even have a label designed.
Factoids: In 1886 there were 4,000 microbreweries in the U.S. In th3 1980's there were under 500 and today there are 1,400 but, they only account for 2% of the beer produced. |

I love Dogfish Head brews. We have two of their Brew Pubs in the Metro DC area now. I have been meaning to get to DE to visit the brewery and that may be a Club Cruise for next year sometime.
I love their "Midas Touch" - Supposedly the oldest known beer recipe. http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/ ... und-brews/midas-touch.htm |

We have a few micros in the area, the best one is Mishawaka Brewery with their Notre Dame Lager. Excellent, kinda of a cross between Sam Adams and Killians.

I got into it for a while but only made 3 batches. The bottling is a pain (picture 60 bottles in my bathtub soaking in water and bleach ).
I was going to get a keg system and small refrigerator but every time I thought about it, another racecar part would break. |

A friend of mine got into home brewing for a while. The result was paint-peeling flatulence.

Sigh...I've been on a brutal IPA run all summer and it's gotten to the point where I can't even drink a Pale anymore. I need them hops!
If you like IPA's, try some of these (disclaimer, some may not be available in your area). These are not for the casual drinker, if you like Sierra Nevada don't bother... duganA - Avery brewing; sharp hop bite but has so much spice underneath that it's worth it. 90+ IBU's. Careful. Mojo - something something brewing co. in Colorado. Good but hard to find here in the D. Stone IPA - Esconida, CA. Solid brew and much milder for those of you who still like Bud and Miller Bell's Two Hearted - Bell's Brewing, Kalamazoo MI; the gold standard. Ridiculous delicious, hoppy but not painfully so Crooked Tree - Dark Horse Brewing (another Michigan brew, probably hard to find for most of you guys). Solid hops but very drinkable. Spicey. Stay away (IMO): Flying Dog IPA. Soooo disappointing as I love their Gonzo Porter and their Hefeweizen. Commodore Perry - Great Lakes Brewing; another real bummer, I enjoy their Burning River pale. Add the hops and they ruined it. Ruination IPA - Stone; Brutal, 100+ IBU's. However I couldn't taste the hops as much as the malt. Definately an aquired taste methinks. Interesting factoid - the name "India Pale Ale" is due to the fact that to keep ales fresh for export to India, English brewers added extra hops. Hence the bitterness associated with most of the good ones. |

Hi Tamiza I'm Erin. Your above site has expired when I clicked on it.
My only experience with a Monk Beer was in Germany last fall, the brewery was started by the St.Sixtus Monks and I believe they had 3 main beers. All 3 were excellent with no bitter aftertaste. Hops were probably roasted which gave it a dark color with a distinct flavor when sipped slowly. Not a big beer drinker I just understand the chemistry behind the brew events. I hope your Thanksgiving was good. Andy has been a big help in my Vette challenges. Take Care Erin |

Hey Erin - odd, cuz the link actually works, it's just cropped strangely so it can't be pasted.
How's this: NM Monk Beer This story is cool cuz it talks about how the brew business pays for their monastic life, and they have a waiting list to get in! Happy vette-ing! |

It works now! Neat! I lived about a mile and a half from Notre Dame and I have talked to a few Priests about Monks and breweries relating my story in Germany. Impressive. One of priests has brother in Ireland that works for Guieness. Its amazing how much they know about "spirits" .

Chimay is a popular (and excellent) Belgian beer, also brewed by monks.

Well the racetrack is a different story. First of all, you have to bring cans. Second of all, you have to be willing to both share and drink what others are sharing. Third of all, well, there is no third thing.
I bring a cooler full of Miller lite cans to the track. |
