Spending time with my mom tonight. Dads out of town until Friday. Classes are going well! Big test on Jan 30.
Cold and snowy. Strange winter, we get snow blowing and drifting, then sunny and near 50 degrees. Now we are in the snow cycle again.

As for the pipeline, I am ignorant of the entire thing... sorry... For some reason, I have missed this story until now.

But in general, I am all for a pipeline. And I don't understand why those in the path are so upset? It brings better oil supply, right? Jobs, right? What am I missing?

Typical morons screwing the pooch. Before long, there won't be a pooch left to screw.

The older I get (30) the more I listen and reserve judgement and comment. That inner monolog however screams some kind of verbal confrontation, but I don't.

Hi Andy. I give to our local human society, a no kill Pet Refuge center. Worked in a Veternary Hospital when I was in high school, I say it all. I learned animal compaasion from my parents, especially my dad. I feed the squirrels and birds also year round.
Yea dad ask the guy what was meaner a pitbull or a SEAL. Guy didn't get it, he moved out weeks later and arrested later for drug dealing.

Tommy count me in also. I have adopted an abused Collie and a stray kitten that some idiots tried to light on fire. These ads really tug at my heart strings. I see a lost or sick animal I always want to help.
I agree about wandering animals in the neighborhood.
I live in a nice house in a quite neighborhood near Notre Dame, the idiot down the street had a pitbull. This guy tried to be cool last year to impress the neighbors I guess and while my dad outside tried to scare him with the pitbulls aggressive behavior and bark as the dog went after my collie. Dad killed the pitbull with his bare hands. Dad is a animal lover but has no tolerance for this breed or their owners that want to capitalize on its aggressive nature.

Hi Andy. Took my car cover to the laundromat and used one of their hugh washers. Took 45 minutes. 30 minutes to dry in "hugh" drier. This removed to mildew, pollen and saw dust. Erin

No, no, no, never ever do that.

I know a bunch of girl racers who couldn't even contemplate that thought.

Most of them think " I may be a girl but I can kick your ass."

Totally understand! When Vetron found out he said the same thing. "never feel that way he needed his ass kicked" oh and BTW your paying for the ticket. Little did he know I was on a pretrial deversion. The police officer had
Dad as his Auto Shop teacher. Pretrial deversion was a way to keep your drive record clean and you would promise not to get another ticket for anything for 1 year or the points would be added to your license.
This guy with the Firebird really took crap from Tampons hanging off his windows and mirrors to panties covering up his license plate which he was stopped for. Guys! go figure.

I think teenage girls do take instruction better! Especially when your Dad starts his version of Driver Ed. when your 12. Guys have something to prove! girls don't. For most guys the car is an extension of themselves and a lot of their self-esteem is in their car or truck. After saying that my first ticket was drag racing a guy with my Dads S10 with a zz4 under the hood. This poor guy was really humilated in front of his buddies with his 92 Firebird. I guess if I had it to do over again I would have let him win. He really took a lot of crap over it.

Hi TB. How is school going for you this year? Yea this MBA is worth it but long days and nights.
I really miss the Gurus, lately the only emails I get and send are to Profs. These guys drive Audi's and Lexus. You would think if they are Business Professors they would buy American, just a thought. Bought a Toshiba Table nice! Profs have apps that can be downloaded and an Asst. is always on duty for questions. Hum...
Spending the night with Mom to keep her company while dad is in Grand Rapids.

Good to hear from you, Erin.

Hi Bill. Yea Dads been busy. His SEAL Team is still close. He never talks about what they did in Vietnam what ever they did they were excellent at it.
His welding class maybe canceled because of the School Corp is 10 million in the hole. The State of Indiana has 1.8 Billion yes Billion in their coffers but the public schools are in the red. Needless to say he is not a happy camper. Even though he is retired from teaching auto shop and wood shop he agreed to teach the vocational welding class at night.
I hope all is well with you Bill and looking forward to 2012. Take Care Erin

Got a letter from State Farm that they are cancelling my 21 year old's insurance. I took it in and raised hell with them.....we have a huge insurance bill every month with the business vehicles and all......She had a fender bender in 08 and a 6 to 10 over speeding in 11. She did roll ahead when the other cars started moving around her at an intersection and bumped the guy in front of her. No damage to our car and 800 dollars to his ratted out Honda civic bumper.

She got a neglegent driving ticket for that along with the accident. She did not contest it and went and paid the fine and pled quilty. She should have gone in and fought it and tried to get the DA to get rid of the Neg driving.....insurance companies don't like neg driving tickets.......I'm pissed and told the insurance company not to mess with us.......we will see how that goes for me.....lol.

Always something......

Better get going....have a great day Guru's....

Marcus My parents had the same experience with State Farm. They have been customers of SF for 35 Years. SF said they had too many claims since 07. Hail damage, and wind damage to house and 1 auto claim from a hit and run in a parking lot. State Farm Lost my parents and me as insurance customers. Went to Farm Bureau with better rates and service. BTW I never had a claim and my rates went up with SF. Not Cool.

Hi gurus. Its been about 4 months since my last post. Busy with work and my MBA. No time for anything! just work and studies. Dad has been helping with one of his SEAL Team buddies that suffered a stroke back in October. He is building a ramp and handicap access bars throughout his house. The prognosis looks good for him, just needs time and rehab.
I hope everyone had a nice relaxing Christmas and a Great New Year. Take Care Guys. Erin

I started driving in 1995 in the winter time. My Dad give me the keys to his 1975 Dodge Power Wagon W250. It was one of his construction trucks. Talk about a tank! a beast!,gas guzzling 360 4bbl with headers. I was so embarrassed to drive this monster to high school. That soon ended the day we had a lake effect snow storm during the school day and most students with regular cars were stranded in the school parking lot and many had to spend the night in the gym. I on the other hand powered my way through drifts, roads that were literally drifted shut and white outs to get home. Dads seem to understand and know whats best for their kids, That spring I got a one owner low mileage Pontiac Grand Prix, not quite the tank the Dodge was but still a substancal vehicle.

Hi guys! seems like decades since my last post. Doing my MBA @ Notre Dame. Our trip to Hot August Nights in Reno was a bust, tire debris took out dads ATF cooler, and my rear hub began making noise. All in all a pretty good trip considering.
Eating dinner at my parents house tonight, work/study/work seems like all I do anymore.
Anyway guys have a great night! Erin

I've been shopping for rotors and brakes also. Found reasonable price on Bendix Titanium and Bendix Rotors. I never read about anyone using Bendix brake products anymore. So I need some advice also! What is a good rotor and brake pad? EBS, Hawk, Bendix,....
This is on my to do list before spring. Was going to change them last fall but never found the time.
Thanks guys! Erin

Happy New Year Gurus. I'm looking to replace my 07 Ford Fusion I-4 with 82K. I travel a lot. The Fusion has been great, excellent mileage, solid, and above all reliable. I started last week to look at other brands, C series MB, Toyotas, and Lexus. I was very impressed with the Chevy Malibu, and the Ford Fusion Sport with the 3.5 litre V-6 with the Mazda 6 speed auto/select shift.
Still up in the air what to buy. Kinda entrenched in buying American. I test drove the new Buick Regal, NICE car, excellent driving experience, handles like a BMW. Excellent throttle response and great fit and finish.
Take Care Guys! Erin

It works now! Neat! I lived about a mile and a half from Notre Dame and I have talked to a few Priests about Monks and breweries relating my story in Germany. Impressive. One of priests has brother in Ireland that works for Guieness. Its amazing how much they know about "spirits" .

As a little girl I grew up with most of Steve McQueens works. Bullit, Great Escape, SandPebbles, and a Movie in which Steve McQueen was driving a Ford Gt-40. Dad loved to watch them during snow storms. So by the time I was 5-6 in 1985 or 86 I could recite most of the lines, I was lucky Steve never talked much! . Other kids loved Elmo and Big Bird I had a major crush on a Mustang fastback with American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. Daddy's Girl.

Hi Tamiza I'm Erin. Your above site has expired when I clicked on it.
My only experience with a Monk Beer was in Germany last fall, the brewery was started by the St.Sixtus Monks and I believe they had 3 main beers. All 3 were excellent with no bitter aftertaste. Hops were probably roasted which gave it a dark color with a distinct flavor when sipped slowly. Not a big beer drinker I just understand the chemistry behind the brew events. I hope your Thanksgiving was good. Andy has been a big help in my Vette challenges.
Take Care Erin

Good Evening Guru's. Having dinner at my parents tonight.
I hope all of you had a relaxing Thanksgiving!
I was unaware that Dad did another recovery dive. Wow! He still thinks he's in the Navy and 19 again. I have been in San Diego for two days. Security was OK nothing unusual. Sat next to a guy from AnnArbor Mich that was involved with Tim Allens voice over work for Chevrolet Commercials. Interesting guy owns two Corvettes, Studebaker Avanti and a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Hemi. So naturally we talked about Vettes, engines and oils. He turned 30 on Nov and I turned 29 last week. Hum.. a lot in common.. plus he was a Navy Diver.
Good Night Guys have a wonderful weekend. Erin

Hi Guys! I have been super busy! Eating dinner at my parents tonight.
No traveling lately just 12 hour days/6 days a week. I was accepted at Indiana University to begin my Doctorate in January. Dad can't figure out why. To make him happy I told him I was doing my studies in welding . Nah its really in Micro.
I think dad needed to vent today! Veterans Day is always a personnal day for him! Tommy your humor kinda set the tone today. Thank You.
Having homemade pizza and garlic bread for dinner. I really miss driving the ZO6. I get 2 weeks at Christmas for a much needed vacation. I think its clutch time for her.
Our 13 year old Collie has made blog history with her regurgetation behavior. It is funny! Gucci and Coach purses the things legends are made from.
Well guys I hope to stay I touch more often! just busy. My boy friend bought a Ram Truck with a Hemi instead of the Ford. Looking at the engine specs I don't think its a true Hemi with domed pistons. I could be wrong!
Gotta go its time for pizza. Erin

My wife and I went down the next day, it hurts to see your daughter hurt.
I'm not bragging matter a fact I'm not proud of it, its just something that had to be done, I need to sleep at night rather than kicking around in my brain what I should have done. Maybe he will think the next time he pulls his crap.

See guys always teaching!

Dad!! I tryed to turn the other cheek he hit that to. You could have been hurt, or worse. I didn't know this! FYI he was carrying a gun!!!
Your not bullet proof anymore!!!

Hi Guys. Need some advice on new brake pads. Since the 07 is stored for the winter this is an excellent time to upgrade and check over components that I did not have a chance to accomplish when I bought. It has almost 168K
1st What is the life of expectancy of the front hubs?
2nd Looking at Hawk HPS pads. Are they good?
3rd Should I replace the master cylinder? Age vs Mileage
4th Is it worth while to purchase a scanner to reprogram the zo6 ecm?
4th Chevy Mechanic quoted $700.00 replace the clutch and pressure plate, throwout bearing. Do you think a girl could do this. I'm Serious. I think I could do this.
5th Dad puts a humidity control device in his stored cars, I think its called a "golden rod" has anybody used it?

Thanks guys I really miss blogging but work has been hectic.

Have a great evening. Erin

Hi guys. Well it was fun while it lasted! Dad and I put the Vettes away this afternoon. Cleaned them up, good coat of Carnuba and the tires on dollys to prevent flat spots. Insurances goes off tomorrow. Next weekend I'll put away the 57 chevy truck. I didn't think $54.00 from Oct, 25, 2010 to March 31 2011 was too outragous for insurance on it.
Both wrists are sore from yesterdays pistol shooting with Dad, he insists on strong hand and weak hand shooting techniques. I'm hell on wheels at 21 feet, just when I think Im doing great he says "paper doesn't shoot back"
Filling out an application to Indiana University for my Doctorate, hmmmm not sure why I'm doing this.
Well guys gotta feed my dog and cat. Have a great week. Erin

Good Morning Guys: Fall is here! gloomy day, Dads fixing my front door of my house, looks like the handle is broken on the storm door. Next week we winterize the Vettes and tuck them away in his shop. No traveling for awhile! Need to spend some quality time at home.
I've been reading Vetrons recent posts, he is really is a great guy but me thinks he's is getting burned out with stupid people that have the reins of education. His students love him as well as "most of his staff". I had to mention this because its reads like he can be very caustic! but thats just his sick sense of humor at times.
Well guys I promised the big guy (dad) I would fix him lunch! Made him some finger sandwichs once! bad idea took 20 to fill him up plus home made soup and chocolate milk.
He wants to go out pistol shooting this afternoon. Yea like he really needs it! but wants to make sure I haven't lost my edge he calls it.
BTW todays lunch is chicken wraps, tossed salad and a tort for desert and a gal. of chocolate milk.
Have a great day guys. Erin

Good evening guys! Seems like a long time since I've had a chance to be a forum member.
Traveling alot lately, its getting old! good thing I don't have a family yet, just a dog and a cat. I hope the traveling is done for awhile. Had a couple instances on the road which a female alone at night was troubling to me. Road rage with a guy in a Dodge Truck and group of guys exposing themselves. My only companion besides my cell phone was a Glock. The guys exposing themselves tried forcing me off the road twice. Their pimped out Caddy had a problem keeping up with my Fusion.
I need to get some serious drive time on the ZO6 before its time to put it away for the winter.
Have a great evening. Erin

Dale I work with a couple lab managers that their children had no desire to drive or even get a drivers license. It really complicated the parents lives by driving the kids all over the place. Finally peer pressure kicked in and they both now have their license.
My attitude towards driving was almost a right of passage to adulthood and responsibility. Of course it didn't hurt to have a dad that was really into cars.
He will come around soon! then its the first speeding ticket, first flat, first fenderbender, oh yea door dings,
second speeding ticket, getting lost in Indy, dead battery when its -20 below. You get the idea. Erin

I'm on a roll now! This is the same group that 3 years ago I took away a loaded 9mm pistol from a student and they began to chastise me for using excessive force. I told them "look he left with both ears, a few bruises but nothing that time wouldn't heal and he's alive" what more do you what from a teacher! They changed their tune later and wanted me to take time off with pay in case I was traumatized by starring down the barrel of a gun. Go figure! Traumatized my ass!

What vetron didn't tell you the kid was almost 20 with 10 credit hours and a gangbanger. He had the gun to intimidate his last hour teacher. Gun was loaded with the safety off with a round chambered. Dad isolated the kid from the rest of his students and put himself in the line of fire. Made news headlines but credited the security for the arrest. It was only when the school board started to question and make assumptions negative towards dad that the community stepped in and the truth immerged. Dad tries to keep his past in the past. I may be biased but his past may have saved the future of a few students and a teacher. The students broken wrist healed nicely, it could have been a lot worse. Erin

Bill we have those thoughts posted in our lab. Great topic of conversation leaves the door open for philosphical interpretation. Doctors love it.
