Good morning. I refuse to be a slave to my computer. Therefore, I wish everybody a wonderful and productive day. I know mine will be as long as I get my ass out of this chair. Bye ...... for now.

Good Morning CGs!

Hope to enjoy the day off again today. We've been having problems with the dryer lately...wife said it would turn on by itself after you loaded the clothing and set the dial. No biggie, I diagnosed and tested it and it's a bad start switch. Removed that from the board and I need to find an appliance store that carries the switches that's local. The one I usually go to is 45 minutes away and I don't feel like driving. I also changed the house water filter and furnace filters yesterday, both were disgusting already. Ugh.

Today I also have to fix a water valve upstairs and hit the post office. I plan on getting in a short run, too.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...I finished up the cabinets and counter top last night. Now I just have to wait for them to get things ready for me to go in and install them. It turned cold last night after being 61 yesterday. I also fixed one of my former student's computer last night, so I had a full evening. Nothing planned here for the day. Like Tommy though, I have to push myself away from the computer and find some things to do. Have a good run Matt.

Wife called me and told me about a yard sale that had lots of cheap tools so I shot over there. Mostly stuff I don't need. Shop tools, planer, scroll saw, table saw, drills. There waere about 5 sellers there. Picked up a cast iron pot with a cast iron frying pan doubles as a lid. Add it to the collection of cast iron stuff we don't use. Picked up a fishermans photo frame, a glass cube with a fisherman inside and a used wide broom. The only item I needed was the broom. LOL

The 91 Corvette had a coolant leak, I could see it slowly dripping from the front off the air dam. A careful search uncovered the culprit. I got lucky. It was only the radiator cap. The water was blowing by and overflowing the overflow tank. Whew ..... dodged a bullet. I had bad feelings it was the waterpump.

The vet is coming over at 10:30. The pot bellied pig is getting a pedicure. Then I can get back to chores around the house.

I cleaned the air handler filter just the other day Matt. Supposed to do it once a month. I'm lucky if I remember once every three months.

Back to work ..............

U got one of dem fishes in a frame that starts to sing when you walk by?

I only have one cast iron pan but it's the best thing for frying chicken and when it's too cold out for the grill, it's the best thing to do a "restaurant style" steak in.

Yesterday we were out on our 4 trax getting the last of our work done and today its 15 degrees and the wind is blowing about 40 mph. Typical for Huskerland. Not as bad as Brad has it though.

My wife has a cold so I am helping out with the domestic stuff. She thinks I'm picking up in my study as I type this. Got the Vette out 2 days ago and took it for a spin just to oil up the top end. Stay warm if you live in the northlands Guru's

Well, I thought we were cold but compared to Brad and Marcus we are having a heat wave 40* here, but the wind is blowing about 40mph. The grandsons have a "candy cane hunt" this morning. With the wind blowing like it is, I'm guessing the numebrs will be down and the prizes up for those who do show.

got to go....

Damn - driving the other day I was hearing a bad sound from the right rear of the Vette. Today I jacked it up and found the right rear wheel bearing/hub is going bad. I replaced both rear hubs about 3 years ago with Precision Brand from Partsladi on ebay. I had a bad feeling when I found the 'American Made' hubs used parts from Taiwan, China, and India. Now I need to find better quality at a decent price (I hope).

I went out and snowblowed (I don't know if that is a word, but that's what I did) the first 10" or so - sounds like we'll be getting about another 8-10". I told my wife she should go out and spritz her Christmas greenery (which has been buried since early November) with a little Wilt-Pruf - she was not amused.

I just saw a Chevy pickup (2WD) get completely owned. Poor guy has been struggling to get up our hill, back wheels churning at about 80mph, but at least he is moving, and the V8 sounds sweet. A minivan just blew right by him.

Did you work it as a package deal so he doesn't have to come back next week for yours?

I had intentions of running this morning but that didn't happen. After I got the switch for the dryer ($27 - ouch!) I reassembled that and my neighbor called. He is getting/got granite countertops today and needed my help ripping out the old ones. So I went over and helped take out the sink, plumbing, old countertops, etc. We were done by noon, then had some other things to take care of. Just finished a plyometrics workout and feel great. Gonna hit the shower and then run some errands. Wifey is at in-laws so I'm a free man for about 2 more hours.

I got a "SurTrak" in the bed, it's a big vinyl bladder (no smartass comments please) that holds about 350 lbs of water. Once frozen, it's 4 in. thick and you can put 500 lbs on top of it without damage.

The Vikings-Giants game is being moved to Monday night. The Giants must not have been able to rent enough dogsleds in Kansas City to get here on time.

It will be 80 here tomorrow.

I spent my day working in the garage! I got a major percentage of my tools sorted and things are really coming together out there. I will take pics when done!

Watching the Mecum auction right now... one of the commentators really has his info screwed up... for some reason, they think that the Ford 352 is a hot-rod engine. HA!

No I can't but I do have SureCableChains in there.

Actually, I've had this p/u 5 years, put the cables on just one time. This 1 wheel drive will go thru 1 foot of snow easily.
