I took the car out for it's initial break in drive a few mins ago. Everything seems great.

While I had the rear end torn apart I took the time to wrap my pinion support/snubber bar with some self adhesive rubber sheeting (T&B Kold-n-Klose Sheath Sleeve).... I cut it in strips and layerd about 3X directly on the foot where it touched the C Beam plate. Then wrapped the tube above the foot all the way up to the floor board to try and kill as much vibration/noise transmission as I could (not to mention I filled the tube with expanding foam last year which did next to nothing).

My god what a difference!! The roll bar is no longer a tuning fork of wirring rear end and clanking tranny noise located directly behind my head. It's nice and quiet sitting in the cabin now.

I know I said that I was going to put the steel FW in it at the same time but honestly I came down with the flu and there was no way I could handle pulling the ZF6 by myself. I started but as soon as I got it free of the pilot brg I knew there was no way I was going to bench press that SOB, lower it on my chest and then "roll out" from under it.... I struggled as it was to line it up and push it back in the pilot brg... At that point I just bolted everything back up. I'll swap in the steel FW when I can get Noland or my brother up here to help me. Me and a buddie did the clutch and that alum FW for the first time back in 2005 on his lift and it wasn't anything difficult... Different story lying on your back sick as hell with the car only 18" off the ground sitting jack stands....

16 March, is the first test and tune night of this season for the local 1/8th mile. I've got plenty of time to put some miles on the new rearend before I go for that 6.99

I decided on front wheels.

My new 17 X 4.5" Race Star Industries wheels are on order and should be here in time for opening day.

Good Story Will! Any time you need a hand and I'm free I'd be glad to ride down and help you out. In April I will be working in Quantico at least two days a week.

Nice wheels too!

I'll jump in too, if you need a hand let me know. I do the Raleigh to Baltimore drive pretty regularly, so Woodbridge isn't out of the way much at all.

I took a 3.91 out of it.

Trying to "get down" with this car on the street is not a good idea... I won't be able to tell any difference until I get it to the race track.

So I get a call from my wheel dealer in Baltimore saying that he dosen't have anymore of the Race Star Industries 71X4.5" front wheels and won't get any for AT LEAST a month....

Of course he has the new Weld V Series in stock (at $590.00 each).... I tell him I'm gonna pass on spending a cool 1200 bucks on 2 wheels that only get bolted on the car for weekend trips to the drag strip.

At this point I want to say (YELL) some curse words, but instead I'm going to go home and pull the front wheels off my car and see if the new 17X4" Centeline wheels with 1.75" BS will fit inside the fender.

Centerline has 3 styles I really like. I can buy them on a deal at $249.00 each (and will if the 1.75" BS is going to fit under the fender).... What do you guys think??

I went home and took a front wheel off and it looks like the with a 6" wide (sectional) tire on a 4" wheel with 1.75 BS I'll have 4.25" infront of the rotor face..... That put's the outside edge of the tire right on with the fender lip (same as my current 275's). I'd rather tuck it up under the fender but .... Close enough for something thats just gonna be on the car for racing.

I made my descision (for the second time) and went with the Centerline "Split Spoke" pattern wheels - They are the last one's in the pics above. Weight is 16lbs.

I just got off the phone with my rep at Centerline...

He had them in stock and they are on the way to me. I should have them next week.

Can't wait to get them on the car. Will take some pics when I ge them in.

I looked at those myself and think they are really good looking wheels. My choices would be a toss up between the qualifier series or the split spoke....the split spoke will look great!!
