Good Morning CGs!

Up before the fam so I have a few minutes of peace. Once rugrat #1 gets up, it's a quick breakfast and wash up, then off to gymnastics. It's her last class for a couple weeks while they are on break. It'll be nice to have Saturday mornings free for a bit. Geeze, having kids really takes away your free time

I am trying to spend some time today working on the car. I'd like to get the intake bolted back together. If I can get two uninterrupted hours, I can accomplish that. We'll see how that goes.

Got my taxes back from the accountant yesterday and I'm a happy guy. I prefer to pay more during the year and then get a big lump sum back at the end....kind of like a savings program. I know in theory that's not the best way to do it, but I like it. Almost like free money

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'd rather get interest free money back than pay any day. Besides what's the percentage on saving accounts today. 0.5% ? I did it that way for years. It was bailout money. No, not from jail. Bail out the broken appliances and fix what needed fixin. Way to go bro.

Busy day as always. Today I'm gonna do ...... stuff.

Good Morning Gentlemen!

Taxes... Good Grief! I grew up with a CPA. My dad was missing in action from January through the end of April every year. Not including his quarterly business clients that sucked every bit of time from him! I really have issues with the IRS... Every year I say that I'm going to adjust my withholding's so we don't owe the Fed at the end of the year, but somehow I always wind up owing them something. I think I'll be pretty good this year as I have been getting closer each year.

Today...
* Do 2 to 4 hours of real work for my paying job!! Audio narrations and edits
* Change oil in the Xterra
* Wash Malibu and Xterra
* Cut down last years Pampas grass and dead foliage in the flower beds, rake leaves and clean the front yard.
* Finish cleaning right rear wheel house and reassemble rear brakes - repeat cleaning job on left rear.
* Get engine harness back where it belongs and reinstall front wheel liners on right side

Don't ya know it! I'll be happy if I get one or two of those things accomplished today!!

Our final bid for the house has been ammended and the owner said he'll sign it. It's a short sale so we'll see if the bank gives it's approval upon submittal. Then we'll be awash in debt again. Is that the American way or what? In a way I want it. In a way I love being debt free. But at least I'll have a garage with a house wrapped around it.

Man that's quite a list Don. I think I would have that on my what to do this month list. Of course we take our time out here not like you type A easterners. Just work on your Vette, that will give you the greatest pleasure.

I will finish cleaning the bathroom that I started last week and begin to think about the front porch repair. Can't find the material I need. I found the material it just comes in a strange color that is not going to work. More on that project when I get into it. Maybe next month. If only TeeBee lived a little closer to us......

I have a delivery this morning and then I want to put in my new fuel pump on the 90. I will have to have Matts pictures close so I don't screw up.

Daughter #2 left yesterday for California to visit daughter #1. My wife had to tell her no more tatoos. Seems last time she went to California she came back with some tatts, much to her mothers displeasure. I stayed out of it.

Enjoy the day Guru's.

Don -

You might not know this but before I was a corvette guru I did accounting...mostly business, payroll, etc bookkeeping, but a little personal stuff, too. I didn't care for it much, and tax season was always crazy.

Marcus - the FP isn't that bad. I know you'll have no problem.

Wifey took rugrat #1 to gymnastics so I'm just with the little one and can relax a bit. It's a big difference to have just one vs two.

And just what does my past profession explain??? Maybe I shouldn't tell you how I was an international spy who assassinated farmers in their sleep...wait a second, I just told you.

Greetings! Congrats on the house, Tommy! Hope the transaction goes without a hitch - I hear they can really drag their feet on those short sales.

Gonna take a few laps around the city in the Vette today, supposed to be low 50's and sunny. Then out to dinner later with the family to celebrate another lap around the sun. Haven't really started taxes yet, as I know that check-writing will be involved.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

I'm also hunkered down for the duration. I've got my spotter's guides and my live timing.

I'm having a little trouble getting used to the relative lack of commercials on ESP3. The picture is decent - I'm running an HDMI out from Lenovo's new ThinkPad X120e netbook to my "last of the high quality mid-size DLPs" Samsung.

ESPN3 is online streaming, only available in the United States through some broadband providers. I'm getting it over Verizon FIOS, and I know some Comcast users can get it. The full list of affiliates is here:

http://espn.go.com/espn3/affList

If you have such access you can hit it through:

ArrArr, what I was illuding to was how efficiant and precise and organized your instructions and answers are. Which are traits seen in folks who can keep the accounting ledgers correct. All of which is beyond me and why I test my accountants good humor on a daily basis. (I think I mailed those in to the IRS) So it all lines up nicely.

Oh My God! Realtor cat fight between the selling realtors, the selling realtors office, our realtor, our closing attorney. Meanwhile the owner (who we know) and us are held hostage to the incompetance. We sign papers tonight with the original realtor we submitted the first offer through. She claims representation rights because she started the first failed transaction. The selling realtors don't want to acknowledge our bid but legally they must present it to the owner and the financial institution. They claim it is too low. What a freak show. The homeowner is gonna be free and clear. The bank could be on the hook for a couple of grand because of processing expenses. All I can say is the realtors on both sides (we know everyone involved) are having some serious ego and attitude issues. Let's see where it goes from here. Unless somebody comes over the top quickly, we stand a pretty good chance of making a deal. It ain't over till it's over. Waiting to hear the fat lady sing ....... Don't tell anybody I said that .....

Good Luck Tommy... Three years ago we made a bid on a short sale property. Long story short... we waited six months for an answer from the lending institutions from both the first and second mortgage holders. The 2nd mortgage co, took the offer, the 1st mortgage holder said No... almost two years later the house was still sitting empty!!

You stand to make a great deal if it works out for you!!

I have always said that the realtor's have the advantage of knowing both sides of the transactions. So they can play each side the way the want. I try not to use them if at all possible. Hope that works out in your favor Tommy and the seller is ok with the deal.

Hi guys...I was MIA today. I got up and started tearing the bath room apart. I got the underlayment down and then started laying out the tiles. Precut all the tiles and gathered up all the tile with ID # on them so I would know where they go, then put the glue down. While I was waiting fo rthe glue to tack I disassembled the old faucet and installed the new one. Then I was able to lay the tile. When I got that done it was time to get ready for a wedding of the son of some close friends. We just got back from that and now before I go to bed I'm going to grout.

Tomorrow we (the wife and I) will be headed back to our home town for the day. Then Monday I start putting cabinets back in and finish up that job.

I'll try to check in tomorrow evening.
