Good Morning CGs!

Holy cow, the end of the month! And end of quarter for you business guys. Hope 1Q was lucrative for everyone. Now it's time to get the sales tax, FICA-SS, FICA-Med, FUTA, SUTA, and all those other goofy acronym forms taken care of. Uncle Sam wants his cut, too, ya know!

My goal this week is to drive the car consciously to see what kind of mpg numbers I can pull. I'm gonna chalk up the last low number to a combination of older gas, spirited driving, and I don't know what else. Maybe someone is sneaking into my garage at night and siphoning my gas

Cold this morning, should warm up later. I'll be looking for my intermittent maf code to reappear in the chilled air. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning guys. We are headed out to the hospital this morning for some tests and another MRI for Kathie. I'm going to try to work from the hospital while I'm there waiting. That should be interesting. I have some materials that need to be ready by COB today for a presentation that my boss's boss is giving to the General and other Whigs tomorrow! Just a little pressure there.

I'm going to siphon the gas out of my car before I start it up too. Its been sitting in there since last June. I look at it as an investment. Gas prices have gone up by .50 on the gallon since last year. Multiply that by the ten or 12 gallons in there and I've made about five bucks. I'll siphon and use it in the lawn mower this summer. Then I will refill with some high test and hope it mixes good with the rest of the crap in the bottom of the tank.

Gotta go for now... but will check back later if I get a chance.

Yea, motorists, crossing guards, people on the sidewalk.

Good Morning. About a week left before we head to Beantown. Talked with my brothers ex last night. They are willing to do whatever is needed for me to establish title. Just entails a few complex pages with supporting documentation like bith certificate, death certificate, a limited power of attorney. We have to first title it to my nephew, then he can gift it to me. I hate paperwork. Just a short 40 years ago, $20 and a bottle of booze would go a long way at the DMV. Today everything is so technical. Working out of the house today. Whatever I do is what'll get done. Have a gureat day gang.

I'm playin' with the C4 today, broke down and bought a Diehard battery because I got tired of reading car battery reviews.

I've had very good luck with DieHards. I'm a DieHard fan. I'm sure there are those that beg to differ but I've got 8 years plus on the one in my 90. If you know how annoying it is to change a battery in a Corvette you'll know why I like DieHards. Porsches suck almost equally. There up under the drivers side fender of the 911. A little wrestling and an extesion or two and your gold with them. Not alot of handspace.

I've used em forever too, I did have one crappy one but that was one I had in the race trailer for the lights & winch, probably didn't get charged enough.

On the web reviews every battery made is crap.

Changing the battery in a C4 is less than 10 minutes for me, not counting cleanup and baking soda wash down.

It's not that hard of a job. I got spoiled with the open the hood and everything is right there cars. I like everything easy or I have to spend an hour and a half thinking about when I'm gonna do a 10 minute job. Tougher jobs are much easier for me. I just drop off the car. I still spend way to much time troubleshooting a job I'm not even doing myself.

Greetings! The previous owner put a Fleet Farm battery in my car back in '05, and it is still going strong. No idea who makes them. I finished taking the headers off last night, hopefully new gaskets will be here today and I can start putting it back together. There's rain and snow in the forecast, so it sounds like a good opportunity to catch up on buffing and polishing, since it probably won't be going anywhere for a while.

Hope y'all have a better day than this guy:

Ain't it funny how you can stare at a car for a half hour aand absolutely nothing gets done.

Good Moring Guru's! A little warmer but cloudy and rainy and foggy. I can't remember when it hasn't been this way.

Don I hope all goes well with you guys today. Matt I am suprised to think you would operate your car in anything but a prudent mannor. Brad, Farm Fleet? Ar Ar Ar! I have a green top Interstate that works well.

I seem to remember the battery being behind the drivers seat in the cubby hole. Can that be right? It seems like it was a bitch if you had to do anything to it. Like jump start it.

I am getting excited because my header is going to be here tomorrow and I plan ..............Mmmmm you know you are going to be let down so why do you have such hopes?........ Because I am that kind of a guy that's why, damnit! Now lead, follow or get the hell outa my way darkside!

Anyway that reminds me of a song so gotta go. Be careful today Guru's!

I just stared at the C4 for 15 minutes, nothing happened, the new battery didn't jump into the tray or anything.

Morning guys....Prudent driving Matt. Don, I hope the MRI gives more info, try and get stuff done out of the office takes a lot of internal fortitude. I bought a Die Hard the last time, for the Corvette. For the wife's Bonneville, I bought AC/Delco, because I could not find one the right size made by anyone else. And that stupid thing resides under the back seat of the car.

I've been pretty busy this morning, the dining table that I built, I had the guy come by and pick it up. While he was here he ordered another dining table, so I guess I'll be building another one.

Have a great Thursday.

I got the C4 ready for the race track - I washed & detailed it.

I did check the tire press and hit the brakes, they work, I'm good.

Paperwork gives me a headache. We just upped our bid on the house. Let's see if anything derails this offer. Should really be good to go on this one. Had to exceed the asking price by a grand. Let's hope it flies.

Been spring cleaning a bit today. Lots of catalogues, magazines and paperwork hitting the recycle bin. Throwing some stuff out that should have hit the trash can a long time ago. Making progress ..... One pile at a time ......

Good Evening Guys. Tonight is my wifes turn for her book club. Club is up to 20 former english teachers all women. My wife is printing some thought provoking questions about some novel they have been reading. Thick book, small print, and no pictures. She has been making water cress sandwiches, stuffed mushrooms, and quiche. So my collie and I are exiled to the garage. I'm going to the local KFC for a bucket of chicken, mashed potatoes and a liter of Pepsi. My dog loves legs and wings. I digress (word I learned from book club) Vette will be washed and detailed tonight, ah...fried chicken with a hint of carnuba. Playing 60's music and watching Steve McQueen's Bullit on DVD. Gawd life is Good. Ever notice how women can carry on multiple conversation at once. Well Guys, the English teachers are arriving (oh ones pretty hot) time to take my dog and run for chicken. Happy reading!! Buy a book kill a tree

Got home today and my wife told me how good Samantha had been. Spent time outside, went potty by herself. I was happy. I took her downstairs for about 40 minutes while I lifted, she was good. Walked upstairs and she decided to pee on the floor instead of walking to the bathroom. I don't understand!!!!!!!!!! Ugh.

Had a rough day at work and I need a good night's rest.

Don - good luck with the MRI.

Tommy - good luck with the house bid.

Marcus - good luck with the header coming tomorrow.

TB - good luck with your table ok not really, I know you'll do a phenomenal job anyway.

The seller says one thing. His realtor says we're a back up bid. Our Miami real estate attorney and our realtor says there's no such thing as a back up bid. Another attorney that we consulted and used when we recenly closed on the 1 acre lot called the sellers realty firm, an apparrent ethical violation, in an attempt to get to the bottom of the story. You see, all the Homestead parties know each other and have had dealings with each other in the past. This is all small town shit. The selling realtor is playing hardball with our realtor. They basicly despise each other. The thought of the selling realtor having to split the commission with our realtor is part of the problem. They're trying to keep 100% of the commission by keeping their prospects alive. We were initially trying to lowball. In this market it's hard for many to qualify for a mortgage. The last two failed offers were shooting for 20% down 80% financing on a $XX0,000 mortgage. We were tendering a lower cash offer. Our most recent offer came in at $XX1,000. There is another offer at $XX0,000 20/80 financing in play. Should that offer collapse, we should be in the catbird seat. We're trying to score a good deal at an affordable price. The lower we can get it for the better the deal. It's all about the Benjamins and trying to keep as many in our pocket as possible. These realtors think we should just pony up whatever high market price they think they can float. Like my wife and I are just gonna walk in and say, "Tell me what you want and we'll make it happen". Unh ahh ! Aint gonna happen. We work way to hard for the money to just piss it away. Let's just say .... We're in negotiations and all the players haven't quite come to an agreement yet. Might not go my way but we're still in the game. ..... For now ............
