Stress. It never ceases to amaze me. Your cruising along in a nice comfort zone. Everything seems right with the world and BAM! A situation arises. Fortunately most are just temporary in nature and as you get older it takes a greater incident to rock your boat. Naturally, a death of someone close makes all other stresses pale in comparrison. Afterall, death is a cure all stress reliever for the departee. Not so much for the ones left to deal with it. So today, lets take what we get, do the best we can to manage it and get out there and kick some f@(%ing ass. No one died. I'm just putting it all in perspective. The shit I have to deal with today is small potatoes. Looks like I'm in for an easy day.

Last Will And Testament

A lawyer read the will of a rich man to the deceased's family:

"To my loving wife Monica, who stood by me in rough times, as well as good, I leave the house and $2 million."

The lawyer continued, "To my daughter Jessica, who looked after me in sickness and kept the business going, I leave the yacht, the business and $1 million."

The lawyer concluded, "And, to my cousin Matt, who hated me, argued with me, and thought that I would never mention him in my will - well you are wrong: Hi Matt!"

LOL Tommy, but it makes one wonder how many folks tolerate or put up with someone just to stay in the will. I have a book called, Don't sweat the small stuff (and it's all small stuff) which is aimed at what you are saying about stress. I have had to learn how to deal with stress in my life and I think it is a life skill that should be tought from the beginning. It affects everyone at some point in their lives. My mantra is, This too shall pass. The older I get the less I want to waste time worring and stressing.

Tried to plug some areas in the roof that I thought were suspect in leaking so we shall see. It's rainy here today so it will be a good test. Got a good work day in yesterday but the weather may be against us today. Oh, well that too shall pass. See it works! Stupid f'n idiot weather!

Let's roll today guru's, I can see the weekend just coming over the horizon.

Good morning, all!

Tommy and Marcus, those are good thoughts. Sometimes I think I thrive on a certain level of stress, but I've found as I get older that I definitely do have my limits.

On a completely different topic:

With our temporarily balmy weather yesterday, I drove the 2003 AE 'vert to our bi-monthly NCRS chapter meeting in the evening. I know I've said it before, but what a wonderful car. There's just a sense of effortlessness to it: that smooth LS1, that trick magnetic ride, the heads-up, the waterfall between the seats with the top down, etc. It just gives me such a good feeling ...

Me too, that's why I took today off! Ha. Long week already and I needed a break. So a nice loooooooooong weekend should help that out nicely.

I plan on doing nothing today other than doing a few errands. I'm gonna take rugrat #1 with me if she wants to go and she can get some chicken nuggets and play on the slide

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mmmmmmmmm, potatoes - I'm hungry now! I drove the Vette this morning, didn't feel like scraping frost off the windows on the Maxima. It's pretty quiet with the stock exhaust back on there. I'll probably leave it alone for a while now, tired of taking it apart.

Have a good day, yawlz!

That's one thing about daily chat. There is no topic. Whatever floats your boat and the magnetic ride control seems to do that pretty well.

I am back on the stress thing. There are real stress issues like the ones Tom and Don are going through. Those unfortunatly are part of life's journey. During those times you rely on your faith and your true friends and family to help you cope.

Then there is the stress we manufacture for ourselves by taking on to much work or spending to much money. Money to buy the cool stuff so we have to take on more work and worry about how we are going to pay for all this crap. Instead of owning it, it owns us.

Stress from being out of shape and eating poorly which can add to ill health and bad breath. Relationships that are not working and stressfull because we are stubbern or pigheaded and don't want to change or be tolerent of anothers idiotic liberal political or religious affiliations.

These are the stresses we have a say in daily as to how they affect our mood and how we act and react. The one thing you have in your power to set each day is your attitude........just saying.....

Marcus, like you said, all kinds of stress in life. It's all in how you deal with it - head on seems to be the best route for me. If you try to ignore it, it just eats you up inside.

Don't forget to take time out of your life to spend with your family, the most important thing! And take care of yourself with a hobby and time to yourself, too.

Good morning guys...... Stress? What stress? Stress doesn't bother me....... I is as normel as I never wus... Yea, it's affecting me some and unfortunately, some of my students who step out of line are the ones receiving the effects. I'm planning on spending some time with my family here over the Easter weekend. Next week my daughter has requested that I come back and substitute for hubby in a school event for the granddaughters. I don't think she wants him around yet, maybe never again.

This is Friday for us here at school, off tomorrow. We are running on the short end of the stick with about 26 school days left. So far the seniors are still plugging away, the middle schoolers are the ones with spring fever. That's sure to change.

STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
What is stresss???

I have enough of it these days.. I took my wife back to the hospital today for follow ups. Some was good other news was not so good. Good news is that the lymph pathology came back negative! That is good. However, upon closer examination of the tissues and data retrieved during surgery last week they did not remove enough margin to be 100% satisfied, so she has to go back in two weeks to remove more breast tissue. Not what we wanted to hear.

anyhow.. she is doing ok and we are looking forward and not behind us. She still is very lucky to have caught this so early.

Don - be happy about the positive news - that's important. I understand that another surgery isn't pleasant, but I'd rather be safe in the long run!

Good luck with everything.

Not in every case but certainly in some, a great stress reliever is a simple two letter word. That word is

.
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.
.

NO
