Although I'm not planning much for this weekend, I'm starting to hunt down what we'll do for our late October/early Novemeber vacation. Got a few chores lined up for today. Mainly stuff that got pushed back because someone called me and asked me if I could do something for them. Still trying to work up a plan for Monday. I really want to spend the day at the poker room at the Indian reservation and take a break mid day at the buffet. That might just end up being the plan. Have a creative day gurus. Make love not war.

Peace brothers and sisters. Not much going on here except the sun is shining. We may even get a whole days work in although it will be muddy. Got a baseball game to go to tonight and then some work on the car to do.

Hope you have a good safe day Guru's!

Good Morning CGs!

Well it rained like cats and dogs yesterday. Cleared up for a few hours in the afternoon, then back at it during the evening and overnight. More of the same today. My buddy's backyard turned into a muddy swamp pit, so no sod last night. Instead I came home and took rugrat #1 with me on a bike ride in the pull behind trailer. We went about 3.5 miles to the park then about a mile back. She had fun, as always.

Not much else to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! It's my Friday, gonna take tomorrow off and make it a long weekend. I dropped the Vette off last night - naturally it felt like it was running better on the way over there. We'll see if they come up with anything.

I wish I could find one of these deck sanders to rent locally, would make my life easier:

Have a good day, everyone!

Good Day All!

This is a crazy time of the year for me. One week out from the big car show. I have turned this event into a carnival nightmare! LOL I wanted it bigger and better each year! Oh my God! Well... I hope it all turns out good. The weather is always the clincher, but I'm crossing my fingers and the extended forecast looks promising.

Car Update: I took both the battery and the alternator to Advance Auto parts last night and had them test both. The guy there said they both tested PASSED on their machine. I don't know how good those machines are. They don't test under load and the battery tester does not test individual cells either. To top it off. When I got home I opened the door to the truck and the alternator rolled out and hit the asphalt driveway busting the plastic vanes on the fan and bending the outer metal disk. WTF!! So.. I may just go buy a new alternator today anyway. The old one is original 17 year old unit. I hope I can locate a loose ground or a bad connection later today to solve this problem.

Later guys

Morning guys.....I slept as good as I have in a month. Not much going on today. Go work on a couple of computers. Looks to be a nice day, sunny, mid 70's but windy again. Wife and I went for a bike ride too after the wind subsided a bit, about 3 miles.

We have an "all school reunion" this weekend. The school we went to is consolidating with another district (our rivals as we were growing up) and somebody thought this would be a good time to do this. So we are headed back to our hometown for the festivities. I sure hope Tommy gets the car show thread started before we leave so I can get my entry in.

Got to head out and get those computers cleaned of a bunch of junk.

I don't think that would work on mine, the redwood's too cupped, etc. But without sanding, the paint only lasts 9 months.

There's a new product at HD, Deck Rejuvinator, that I'm looking at. Thick epoxy with anti-skid, it's over 1/8th thick after it's applied. Roughly $80 per 100 sq.ft.

But then, I'm waiting for Tommy to come out and help, it was his idea.

I don't believe that was the intention when it was stated

Your on a roll ........... It's amazing how stuff like that happens when your tired, in a hurry or just plain ol' trying to get something done.

Checking in for the first time here. Beautiful morning here in SC for the first time in days. Top down on the Mustang on the way to work!

I really hate to spend the day indoors though its supposed to hit 90 today.

The seat track is supposed to come in soon so maybe I'll be able to get my vette on the road this weekend!!! Its only been 3(?) years. Waiting as well to post some pictures on Friday!!! Good idea, Tommy!

Brad - are you trying to repair the deck and level boards, etc? Or just refinish? I remember power washing and that sucks, but how much do you need to take off?

Not much on the agenda for tonight, I might stop by another neighbor (my electrician) and give him some advice on his 02 trailblazer...it's got 170,000 miles on it!

Ideally I'd like to sand the decking smooth again, as after 20+ years of painting and wear, it could use it. But I guess I'll settle for spot-scraping and sanding.

I just picked up the Vette - the guy didn't find much, other than that he thinks I may have a couple of injectors that are clogged up. He said it's adding 10% on one bank and 2% on the other. So I'll swap my originals back in and send the Bosch III's back to FIC to have 'em checked out.

Looks like the house deal fell through for us. The other buyer is closing next week .... supposedly. Gave my Porsche mechanic the go ahead to tear into the 928. It's obvious that I have more money than brains. Let's just say this decision was not based on wisdom. I know I should have just let it go but somehow I can't. Once I'm in I'm in for the long haul . At least we should be able to sell it for half of what we'll have into it one day ..... but I won't. More to come on this subject later.

Awwww, that sucks about the house! Hopefully your mechanic will be swift, effective and reasonably-priced.

Just got home. I did manage to get the U-joints out of the 67's half shafts but what a bitch, the worst I ever seen.
The press actually didn't work, bleout the end of the caps without budging them. Went back to the hammer and socket method using the U-joints to push the caps out, the shock of the hammer did the trick. had to cut one U-joint in half to get it out.

He's pretty swift and very effective. That's about all I can say about that .......
No really, his shop does quality work and the old expression is you get what you pay for. He likes to do things right. He's taken care of my 911's and been our Porsche mechanic for over 5 years. He guarantees his work (really). The only problem we had was finding a A/C system leak. It was in an obscure section under the left front wheel fender. He doesn't bullshit, shows you what it needs and why, gives you a parts and labor breakdown, then leaves it up to you. Let's just say many in the older Porsche community support him. He's a racer and mechanic. Know's the cars in and out. Better to pay him than pay cut rates for someone that doesn't know a Porsche from a Panoz.

Yea thanks, but I still have some days (more like a month) of doing what you've been doing --- cleaning the house. It's trashed. I can't even take pics of the new kitchen yet.

Evening guys....I spent the morning working on computers, cleaning the crap out of them and getting them back to an acceptable performance. This afternoon I spent in the shop building a drawer and a cabinet door (two separate jobs) and undating the maps on my Garmins.

Tomorrow I get the Corvette out and get it loaded for the weekend trip.

I'm buried in the mess
My next project is to pull down some of the shelves I just put up in the garage....and put up kitchen cabinets in they're place.

And the mess goes on.
