Good Morning Tommy! Don't give up so fast! LOL

I like the Rooster he matches my car! He needs some red hash marks though!

I didn't do anything on the car last night. I had good intentions but got whisked away to the grocery store and then we went across the street to the neighbors house for a few beers and some crabs! You got to love them Maryland Crabs!!

Good Morning CGs!

Should be sunny and 75 today, with showers in the evening. So I'm taking the boom-boom car to work (what my daughter calls it). I checked the plugs last night and they looked good. I'll just drive it and see how things are running.

Other than that just looking forward to my weekend starting tomorrow. I've got the kids but after that I'm gonna stop by HDfire's and try to give him some assistance on a fuel injector swap. Should be fun.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Yesterday I accompllished alot of nothin. Did some web surfing for real eatate to see what's around. Found one prospect but it already has a contract on it. I'm trying to get one or two streets back off the main roads. I like my streets with less traffic and quiet. I've been house hunting for quite awhile. Number one it has to be a good deal. Number two is finding houses that meet our needs at a cost we can afford. I don't want to live working my ass off for my next house. If it comes, it comes, if it doesn't we still have a roof over our heads. Might have to do some cruising through a few neighborhoods I like. Lots of folks are still asking more than market value. I've been checking out REOs too. With an acre or more we can get an Ag exemption in some places. That saves alot in tax money. I want it fairly close to the nursery so we can get there in 5 minutes or so. The hunt continues. I 'm still considering building a house/garage/office on the second property. That may well be the best option. Lots of people stung by the real estate downturn. They're upside down with no hope of getting their asking price. They're caught in the dreams of yesterday. The economy is still in a sad state of affairs. I'm trying to move while the movin is good. Meanwhile a pile of houses sit vacant because the banks are controlling the flow of foreclosed properties so that they don't drive down the price. Some people are living free for multiple years because the banks take no action. Maybe I should do that with a McMansion. Get in, don't make any payments and live there till they boot me out. Don't think people aren't doing it. What the hell is wrong with people.

Greetings! Exciting plans for tonight - more work dismantling the deck if weather permits.

The shadow inventory of houses on the brink of foreclosure is still a problem:

Have a good day, all!

Luckly we did not have a lot of the forclosures happen out here in flyover country. It is a buyers market if you have cash. Phoenix has a lot of homes for sale cheap.

Cool and cloudy here again......makes working outside nicer. It takes about 2700 heat units to make a corn crop and on average we are way behind the norm at this point. That can catch up as the summer progresses but it holds back the normal growth curve of the crop. Which means late harvest. It takes sunshine to make energy to set a big ear of corn and without that energy the yields will lag.........just keeping you up on the hot topics in the coffee shops around the area.

Don are Maryland crabs better then Delaware crabs? Just wondering....

Gotta go get to work, I will check in later, it's big Tuesday so man up and let's get it done Guru's.....

I used to go to a bar in Hagerstown where they'd spread newspaper on your table and bring out a bushel basket full to the top, dump them on the table. $22 a bushel.

I looked for 2 years but I figured it would take that long and the time spent was worth it. I even have a bunch of equity left after all this.
Wish I could buy property here (and keep it for 10+ years).

I coulden't handle anything less than 1 acre.

You can get a 2 car built for $15k.
And some of the modular houses are really nice. And they go up fast compared to stick built.

Well... yes! Every Blue Crab up and down the Eastern Seaboard and around the gulf to Louisiana and Texas is officially calinectes sapidus. However, from what I understand environmental conditions and diet can play a part in the sweetness of the meat. Additionally, only Marylander's know the secret black art of preparing the wondrous steamed blue crab. I learned it as a boy from my Mom's family and others and I have passed and taught this to many others that want to take the time to learn the secrets of steaming crabs the Maryland way! LOL

My next door neighbor runs one of the largest crabbing businesses on this side of the Chesapeake Bay. I have gotten some good deals from him in the past but we will never see $20 per bushel ever again. Kind of like 25 cents per gallon for gas. A bushel of Jumbos crabs can cost you about $200 now. Last year Abner, next door sold me a nice bushel of large crabs for $100. I felt very lucky indeed.

They are a hot commodity here in the summer as many tourists and other land lubbers that don't eat a lot of crabs throughout the year, flock to the crab houses along the shores of bay for this delicacy beginning in the early summer and lasting through labor day. This influx of the DC crowd and tourists jacks the prices sky high. On the other hand I eat them nearly year round and have a few places I know where to buy them that I can get great deals all the way into December. Then in January we have no choice but to eat South Carolina, Georgia and Louisiana crabs until May.

You asked and I love my Maryland Blue Crabs!!

I think I could arrange that... Do you need instruction on how to eat them? That is always another learning point for many first timers. Not sure what your level of experience is! LOL

Humm, you need a hammer, shears and a pitcher of beer per person.
And 3 hours to pick enough to get full.

We don't get them in the wild west but I like the Dungeness we get. The hunks of meat are way bigger (2 crabs will fill U up). And I get them for $5.00 each.

My wife figured out what those assholes stole from the truck when she went to go for the tool bag. Gone! Couple of other tools missing too. I'm gonna give them a tool if I come across them. Right in the f@(%in head. This town ain't that big. We have a way of finding them and when we do we won't be looking for law enforcement to straighten it out. Vengeance is a dish best served cold.

Revenge may not be the answer .... What's the question again?

The wife and I took a walk on the beach today at lunch time. The weather has just been the best over the past two days. Warm and no humidity. Enjoyed getting out of the house for a short walk. I thought I'd share.

I pulled out a hundred bucks Friday to go play a little. So far I'm still even. Haven't made it there yet. Tomorrow I get to operate a walk behind trencher. Whoo Hoo! Roasting in the sun spitting a rock trail. Today I pressure washed the pool patio, cleaned the pool, washed my shed, cut the grass, swept, raked and a bunch of other stuff, I just fed the animals and I'm calling it a day. Well. I'm jumping in the shower first, then calling it a day.

Oh, that'll jerk your arms off.

I had to back off after last month's winning streak, lost about $120 on 5 visits. I quit for a while, didn't even play nickels.
3 days ago I won $200 then today was very good.

I just finished hook up and maintainence on the swamp cooler, started cleaning the remodel crap out of the downstairs to get ready for a dump run and changed the glass top for the painted one on the C4.
