Good Morning CGs!

Well it's official, the year is half over....geeze, already???

I got in a decent run last night. Six miles at an ok pace, then another four miles on the bike to cool down. But I didn't get going until 6:30 and home until 7:45 so then I was wide awake and couldn't go to sleep. Finally a little after 11:00 before I hit the sack.

Supposed to be hot today and even hotter tomorrow. Upper 80s today and mid 90s tomorrow. Luckily the pool water is nice to cool off in

Need to order some junk off the internet for the car and whatnot when I get a chance.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Each day a new beginning.
I'm enjoying my morning routine. Nothing new there. Yard work today. Nothing new there. I'll follow this up with a bunch of other stuff I do on a routine basis. I have to be happy about this. One day I will wake up and it will be far from routine. Bad news will be waiting. So today I will take pleasure in the mundane. I'll take boring stuff over bad stuff any day of the week.

I hate when that happens. It usually screws up my plans for the next day. Has anybody seen my motivation? It appears I've misplaced it.

Greetings! Gonna be a hot one here today - could be 100 and muggy. Got a little work done on the deck last night - I'm trying to salvage some tall posts that hold up the pergola. I had mortised in the old railings, so I filled the notches with wood and am going to use Bondo on them before sanding and repainting. I'm guessing that with the heat today, I'll be taking a nap when I get home instead of working outside.

Have a good day, all!

Life starts each time you open your eyes.

Nice thing about that is that you can restart by taking a nap.

Good afternoon Gentlemen! and Ladies if present...

I'm considering taking off as well, but won't decide until later. I'm supposed to drop the car off in the morning to a local exhaust shop so they can look over my system. I'm dreaming that they call me and tell me they have reworked my exhaust system and its quiet as a lamb at cruising speed and sounds wicked mean as hell at idle and WOT!! I know a lot of people think I'm crazy for taking a stroker motor and capping the exhaust to quiet it down, but that's how its got to be right now.

Here is a fun clip to listen to. I had backed it out of the garage and shut it off. I think it loaded up a little bit while sitting still before I started the second time, hence the rough initial idle. Currently Mick has the idle set high while we are working on the tune.

Sounds like it wants to get out and run, Don! ;-)

Meanwhile....

A man is driving down a deserted stretch of highway when he notices a sign out of the corner of his eye....It reads:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
10 MILES

He thinks this is a figment of his imagination and drives on without a second thought....

Soon he sees another sign which reads:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
5 MILES

Suddenly he begins to realize that these signs are for real and drives past a third sign saying:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
NEXT RIGHT

His curiosity gets the best of him and he pulls into the drive. On the far side of the parking lot is a stone building with a small sign next to the door reading:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS

He climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered by a nun in a long black habit who asks, 'What may we do for you my son?'

He answers, 'I saw your signs along the highway and was interested in possibly doing business....'

'Very well my son. Please follow me.' He is led through many winding passages and is soon quite disoriented. The nun stops at a closed door and tells the man, 'Please knock on this door.'

He does so and another nun in a long habit, holding a tin cup answers the door. This nun instructs, 'Please place $100 in the cup then go through the large wooden door at the end of the hallway.'

He puts $100 in the cup, eagerly trots down the hall and slips through the door pulling it shut behind him.

The door locks, and he finds himself back in the parking lot facing another sign:

GO IN PEACE.
YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SCREWED
BY THE SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS.
SERVES YOU RIGHT, YOU SINNER

Three dogs were sitting in the waiting room at the vet's when they struck up a conversation. The Yellow Labrador turned to the Black Labrador and said, "So why are you here?"

The Black Lab replied, "I'm a pisser. I piss on everything....the sofa, the curtains, the cat, the kids. But the final straw was last night when I pissed in the middle of my owner's bed."

The Yellow Lab said, "So what's the vet going to do?"

"Gonna cut my nuts off " came the reply from the Black Lab, "They reckon it'll calm me down."

The Black Lab then asked the Yellow Lab "Why are you here?"

The Yellow Lab said, "I'm a digger. I dig under fences, dig up flowers and trees, I dig just for the hell of it. When I'm inside, I dig up the carpets. But I went over the line last night when I dug a great big hole in my owners' couch."

"So what are they going to do to you ? " the Black Lab inquired.

"Looks like I'm losing my nuts too," the dejected Yellow Lab said.

The Black Lab then turned to the Great Dane and asked, "Why are you here?"

"I'm a humper," said the Great Dane. "I'll hump anything. I'll hump the cat, a pillow, the table, fence posts, whatever. I want to hump everything I see. Yesterday my owner had just got out of the shower and was bending down to dry her toes, and I just couldn't help myself. I hopped on her back and started hammering away."

The Black and the Yellow Labs exchanged a sad glance and said, "So, it's nuts off for you too, huh ?"

The Great Dane said, "No, apparently I'm here to get my nails clipped."

I was working down stairs, then I got side tracked and put some pics in the computer. Then, I thought I'd post them (in Autocross). Then I went back down stairs and thought it would be more fun to go to lunch. I never get anything done start to finish in one shot.

Yea, kinda brain disfunctional.

Now he's telling me to get out the carpet machine and do the Silverado before it gets hot.

So, I got the carpet machine out, did the seats & carpet in the Silverado, did the carpets in the C4.

Now, should I go back to what I started this morning?
Or eat lunch or take a shower and go to the casino?

Maybe I'll just take at nap, eh Tommy?

I just came in from 5 1/2 hours of yard work and cleaning the pool. I think a nap is in order. Never lost any money taking a nap. Now the casino, that's another story ............... Perfect timing 2:30 PM .................... Wife's not due home for at least an hour and a half. Peace and quiet.
