Woke up at 03:00 and my mind shifted into first gear. I tried to go back to sleep but the effort was in vain. So, I gave in and got up. I haven't had a nap in a few weeks now. Seeing I got up so early I may have a modify my schedule today. Being retired means I have no set schedule. What that means is I'm working seven days a week. The clock has 24 hours and I can use any of those hours I choose. I've been making progress but there is still so much left to do. I'm gonna write some bills this morning and get and early start on the day. I'm still strongly motivated. Hope I can keep that up for several more weeks. Then I hope to pull a BillH where the most energy I'll expend will be taking a few pictures. Keep on keepin on and more important; Keep doin what you're doin. Later gang!

Glad I'm not drinking or smoking. I'd never get anything done.

No thanks man.

Wow... someone beat me up in the middle of the night....
Woke up like this yesterday and went back to bed finally and didn't get back up till noon. I can't stand to waste the weekend like that. I sure do wish I had your determination and energy! I got stuff to do around here also. You'd think with a new car I'd be all excited to be out there cleaning on it and stuff.
Oh well, I've got a good breakfast planned for me this morning, gonna stay in my ratty shorts and Willie Nelson First Aid Shirt, do some freelance and chill. Maybe hit a friend's pool, not sure.
Y'all have a good one

Good Morning CGs!

Hopefully everyone had a safe and enjoyable Saturday night. I didn't do too much but get the kids washed up and to bed. Got a chance to catch up on some old posts last night so that was good.

Weather was pretty crazy yesterday. Anyone read this:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08 ... 926327.html?ncid=webmail1

Sad. I don't know what else to say about it.

We had crazy storms last night, but it wasn't windy. I was driving home in the "wiper on high still can't see 10 feet in front of you" kind of storm. The vette couldn't do over 35 or else it was slipping all over the road from the standing water. A little unnerving. But I made it home. Driving the truck today just in case...lol.

Not much else to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

We have been having rain all night... and a good steady downpour for the past 30 minutes or so. Thank God no heavy winds at this time.

I had fun yesterday at the car show but my car was running a bit weird when I got there. It just started developing a miss or rough running when I turn the AC on. It wants to load up and shut down. The idle will begin to decrease until it sounds like it will conk out. When I give it the gas it needs a few minutes to clear its "throat" a bit. It was fine when I turned the AC off. Then when I was leaving the show parking lot later it wanted to do the same thing without the AC on when I would stop at a traffic light. It was missing real bad until I gave it the gas and got the rpms up a bit.
I drove it the 60 or so miles home at highway speeds with no problems and it even seemed to do fine around town here before I got back to the garage.

Anyhow - we are getting water logged here today.

It is a beautiful morning out. I was out on the deck and it feels like 50 degrees out there. The mist is hanging in the valleys and I just had to sit out in the quiet of the morning and thank the Lord for it all.

Well this morning I am feeling conflicted. I have been trying to make up my mind on if I should keep the C4 or sell it. We only have a two car garage and I may not get the garage addition built this fall like I want. There is a nice guy who really wants to buy it from me and is excited to get back into Vettes.....just like I was when I bought it. The car is perfect right now and if I was going to move it this would be the time since fall and winter are coming on.

I will miss it and like Bill says may wish I hadn't sold it but I love the 5 and want to put all my energies towards it. I still got kids in school and still headed for college so I think it is best. I am airing this out to help convince myself if you couldn't tell.

That and I really am fascinated by the ZR-1's.....

I will let you know how it turns out today.

Church and then some fun stuff are the order for the day, enjoy Guru's!

I hope you get there soon, T. Also because it means you've made a huge accomplishment.

Day 9 of the "Do Nothing But Fun Shit" tour (I think, I'm loosing track of the number of days, but I don't care.)

Oh No!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeasterday, I went to the Hot August Nights Corvette Forum get together.

Met some nice guys and gals and some local Vetters I didn't know.
A gal from Carson City showed up in a beautiful 94 Black Rose Metalic Vert (32k miles once owned by Mario).

Most of them then took a tour up to Virginia City.

If I were you Marcus, I would either keep it or sell it. One of the two.

Hidey-ho! I too was wide-awake in the middle of the night, but I persevered and got back to sleep. Once again, all that training pays off. Looks like a beautiful day out there for golf - unfortunately I'll be working on the deck some more.

Marcus, there are plenty of nice C4's out there if you ever want another one. It all comes down to if you can part with the effort you have put in to make this one yours.

Great pics, Bill!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Good afternoon, all. I'm slow to get to the keyboard today.

Marcus, I think you know what you are doing, so I don't have any advice. I'm painfully aware of needing to concentrate on just a few things.

I'm reading a book right now called The Checklist Manifesto. It's by a surgeon who lives in Boston and it talks about how simple checklists improve results in even the most complicated of surgeries. Kind of a reminder not to miss the simple things while dealing with a complex task - I know I've done that many time with the 1985.

Raining pretty hard in Philadelphia today. The trees need it, but it is kind of dreery.

I agree. Would do the same thing. I just got too much into it right now. I need to drive it for a couple more years to get my hard earned money out of it in smiles.

I'm not car shopping at the moment. The stable is full. No trading either. I've become attached to what we have. 2 will go in the garage, three in a soon to be built carport then I'm putting up a boatport. That still leaves 4 to weather the elements directly. That's OK though. They're all work trucks.

Evening guys...Well we made it home safe and sound. I'm so tickled with my pickup. We came home a different way, partly because of the road construction, it was about an hour out of the way vs 45 minutes for the detour and we got to see some territory that we don't normally see. Stopped by "The Royal Gorge", as the boys had not been there. For those who don't know about the Royal Gorge, it has the highest suspension bridge in North America, more than a quarter of a mile down to the Arkansas river. The boys were impressed.

Stopped by "The Royal Gorge", as the boys had not been there. For those who don't know about the Royal Gorge, it has the highest suspension bridge in North America, more than a quarter of a mile down to the Arkansas river.

Is it still a creaky, old wooden bridge? I haven't been there in a while.

Yup Bill, still a wooden plank bridge. With the wind whipping through there it was swaying pretty good. The little guy was a little unnerved.

cool kiddos!
That bridge would freak me out too.
I ended up staying up after waking up at the butt crack of daylight, ran an errand or two, tried to nap, didn't work out. Got the top dropped on the car, hit a friend's pool, had a shot of some $94 tequila and I swear Jose is better (and I hate Jose).. got propositioned by a swinging couple, got the heck out then drove a while in the car, came home and had dinner. Quite a strange evening to say the least. But I made a little cash upon arriving home, had an email for a small freelance job - already done
Have a good one y'all....
