Good Morning CGs!

So the last day of August. I couldn't have imagined this at the beginning of the year. It's gone so fast already. Can you believe that in a little over a month rugrat #2 will turn a year? Wow that's fast.

Had a little rain last night and it made it muggy. Supposed to be dry today with a high of 84. I think I might drive the boom boom car to work. But that means I have to go now and do some car jockeying and get everything ready.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning Matt! and the rest of the Gang
Congrats on the first year of watching your baby grow into a person. I can't think of anything more satisfying that I will never be able to experience. Cherish these days, Matt!

I'm at the house working today. I have less than a month of this contract left and still looking. The company that interviewed me twice already is still interested but thinks I need more time before they can hire me for a PM. I think they want to bring me in as an Instructional Designer or lead Instructional Designer (same salary as the PM job). I'm keeping that in my top pocket but have some other good leads.

I got the yard looking pretty good over the past two days. You can hardly tell a hurricane came through here less than four days ago. I still have at least 2,000 square feet of shrub beds and raised gardens to clean up sticks and twigs, weeds that needed to be removed and more mulch to put down on top of the cleared beds for fall. Last night I was sitting out on my deck with the fire pit burning and enjoying the cool night air for a change. It has just been too hot and humid this summer. Seems like the hurricane pushed all of that out and cleansed the air.

Last thing for this morning is that we are gearing up for the Baltimore Grand Prix. I have tickets for Friday and Saturday including Corvette Corral Passes. I hope the weather holds out for the weekend!!

Have a good day all!!

Missing Tommy!! I hope he gets that internet hooked up soon!

Good morning! Cloudy and wet here, so the Vette is in the garage. It's supposed to clear up and get hot for the next couple of days. Felt like fall yesterday. I'm gonna have to think about snowblower shopping pretty soon, think I wore the old one out last year.

If it makes you feel any better, Matt, my youngest will turn 25 soon :-P

Nice to have that job in your pocket as an option, Don - good luck on your continued search!

Have a good day, everybody!

Thank goodness for the daily chats or I wouldn't know what day it is.

I'm going to my buds machine shop to help him tape & paint a couple hundres locomotive engine parts. he builds the locomotives from scratch, the "Live Steam" ones that are about 4 feet long. Expensive damn things.

Have fun everyone.

Good morning guys....Doesn't feel too much like Fall here, going to be 100+ again today and tomorrow. But it does look like a little relief is in sight for the weekend, only in the lower 90's.

If makes you all feel better, my youngest will turn 30 in November. My oldest grandson is nearly 15. Enjoy it folks.

Got to go to school. Have a great one.

Good morning, very foggy and warm here today. It's day 2 of my DNBFS Tour and I was just handed a list of things to do by my wife......that was a short tour.....its still better than going out to a field and looking at bugs.

Ordered some nik naks and do dads for the Vette yesterday. Yikes it adds up fast. Took my future SIL out for spin in the C5 and he really liked it.

Don glad you did not have more trouble at your house.....Matt my little guy is now 6'3" and 250...they grow up fast......Bill that sounds interesting.....Brad what did you shoot the other day at your golf outing?

Better get started on the list.....enjoy Guru's!

Morning Gurus - last day of the quarter for me and one of my SOB customers just dumped a list of last minute terms and conditions for the contract - once our legal comes online today is going to be a nightmare....

Kids grow up fast - mine are 21 and 22. Look out for my son's video in the 'drifting' thread that I'll post in a couple minutes.

Yea, I think that gets us tied for the record or maybe one past (new record). We'll see how it turns out. Got the kids doing safety tests, so it's quiet.

Just got back from cleaning, taping and painting a boatload of choo-choo parts.
But I got paid to do it, I took the money from my buddy cause when he sells these 2 locomotives, he'll pocket damn near $80k.

Pics: Note the steam drive piston assembly, aside from the castings, all the parts were made by Steve.
These things are damn complicated.

Not of Steve's personnel engines, they're at the other machine shop.
They sell for $35k +. They can take over a year to build. Just the machine work in the previous pics took Steve 3 months (for 2 engines).
These are hand built by machinists, he even builds the entire boiler from scratch.

These are typical.
Impressive huh?

That is a serious hobby/craft, Bill. I'm impressed.

Tied the record set in 1936 today, will break the record tomorrow. Forecasting 108 for tomorrow. 51 days of 100+ in the year.

Went for my evening bike ride and it was hot, still 102 when we rode by the bank, enough is enough.
