OK, I noticed the last time I was on the race track when I shifted my shifter moved up and down as well as into gear.

Took a look at it today and the "supoort bracket", part 43 on page 7B1-6 of the FSM (pictures attached) is broke between the mount on the shifter and transmission.

Anyone near Atlanta know where I can get a replacement by Thursday???

if you can get it all out, a machine shop might be able to make one.

Try Chris in Acworth for a used one - 770-546-3504 during regular business hours. You might also want to keep his number.

Jim - I can't make it out from the picture but is this something that could be welded?

A - its not something that could be welded, the whole "S" curve is missing. As in Gone, not there, kaput

So I called arround and here is my results (I didn't have Chris in Acworth's number)
Vette2vette - left message, they eventually called me back
Corvette Recycling - we haven't had a manual transmission vette come in in a couple years. Try CNS and talk to Lyle, he might have one.
CNS - Lyle is a great guy to work with. He had some technical problems and while he was getting his books I went to the ZFdoc website to see if I could find the part number. With the part number he was able to look it up in his parts book and described what he saw there and it exactly matched part 43 in the FSM. He is shipping me the part next day air at a reasonable price plus shipping.

So for anyone that reads this and that part is broken here are part numbers:
ZF part # 1052 207 018
GM part # 10140675

Since this is the Guru and not that other place C&S phone number is 800-866-5064

Thanks folks!

Did not realize they were a vendor here. I updated my post to use the correct name.
