Chair-man of the bored Homestead USA 33760 Posts Member since: 2007/12/10 0:00	Looking forward to January 2nd, one day at a time. The pigs are thawing and are gonna get a cooler marinade bath today. We're doing one with a citrus marinade, Mojo, and the other a teryaki marinade. I'll be somewhat busy over the next three days doing party prep stuff. Thanks honey. The nephew is settled in and my son is off for the next three days so he'll be by a lot. Christmas is all about giving so I guess I'll just give till it hurts. Probably be hurting by around noon time.

Wish we could stop by....I love a good hog roast..... I too am looking forward to Jan 2........so we can watch some HUSKER FOOTBALL......oh yeah, nothing brings this State together on a cold winters night like a Husker Bowl game. From Omaha with thier posh cocktail get togethers to the sandhills out west where the small town bar will be packed with farmers and ranchers with 2 or 3 TV's going....To the parties in all the homes where everyone will come over to watch on someones big screen TV and be cheering or moaning as the game plays out. Go Big Red! Big chat yesterday....lots of fun. Our clan is gathering. The newlyweds got here real late last night. By the looks of their SUV they had some bad roads to contend with. When we lived in Montana we would try and come back this way for Christmas and would always get caught in bad weather it seems. We were young and adventersome so we didn't care......all part of the adventure. Have a great day and hurry out to get those last minute stocking stuffers......

Rough night last night. #1 has an ear infection (that was mentioned yesterday...but apparently g-strings was the preferred topic? lol) and she was not doing too well. #2 has started a new trend where he wakes up screaming and continues to scream until you walk around with him and his blanket so he can fall asleep on your shoulder. Takes anywhere from 5 mins to an hour. Great. So I'm a little lacking in the sleep department today. OK, maybe a lot lacking. I think I could fall asleep on the keyboard. Our cousins (#2's godparents) came over last night and brought a whole truckload of gifts for the kids. Completely unnecessary, but we remember how it was before we had kids, too. Even though we cut back on gifts this year, I know there are a ton from other family members. Tis the season. Tommy - hope your pig roasting goes well. Hope everyone has a great day! Matthew

Sleep is overrated. Brad take it easy, don't do too much work there. Marcus, you are right, those Husker fans are crazy about their football team. Oh, Tommy, I think I'm moving to stage 4.... The wife and I are headed over to the "city" today. Yesterday the roads were bad so we decided not to chance it. We have to go today to get some groceries to take along with us to her folks place for the big Christmas get together with all of her siblings, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles grandkids and anyone else who shows up. You all are invited! There will probably be 50-70 people there off and on during the day.We outgrew their house years ago and they rent the community building for this event.

Nothing serious, just little stuff. The University is dead - our dorm was at 3% occupancy yesterday: even our international students can go home for winter break.
