I cannot imagine how scary that had to be, Bill.

Take a deep breath and relax, it sounds like you can and you have earned it. I hope the fire stays where it is - away from you and your neighbours.

Sorry about the fatality, my heart goes out to their family and loved ones. That sucks.

I was more confident than some, my roof is 1/2 in. thick concrete tiles. The siding I installed is cement board with a huge fire rating.

And I took a backhoe and cut a 30 foot min. fire brake around the whole house.

More confident means I only had a half gallon of acid in my stomach.

They won't know for a while Andy.

I wouldn't be supprised if the wind knocked down a power line. 80 mph is nuts.
On the mountain, above the fire, they had a 122mph gust.
