Howdy! Your day is off to an odd start, Tommy :-P

Dark and dreary here, but should be in the mid-30's, so I'm not gonna complain. Here's something to keep wayward Gurus out of trouble:

Enjoy your day, all!

Hhmmmm. I like the idea of "My Car Broke Down" without the strip club. I can hear the gearhead gals swooning. MMmmmm Tommy T. you smell so good. Is that Amsoil? I love the subtle hint of burnt clutch.

Morning G Nation.....was headed to a clients house yesterday in the Duramax and was running late....and my Egg McMuffins had fallen off the console onto the passenger side seat......so while retreving those I popped up over a small hill and was looking at a State Patrol car coming at me and soon to be coming after me.....Nuts! 73 in a 60....who has 60 mph limits on a U.S. highway even Kansas is 65 on their roads.......dayummmmm....120 bucks...

In the C5 I am always paying attention and know when I am speeding...the HUD keeps your eyes on the road. That big deisel can really roll out and you just don't think you are going that fast.......anyway no more McMuffins......

I really like Gov. Jan Brewer from Arizona. I see she got in Obamas face the other day and they have been going back and forth for awhile over immigration....She's tough....I like that......Is there a more political hot potato than immigration right now?

More big work today as we glide on into the weekend....let's mount up Guru's, we got a long ride ahead of us.........

The McMuffin didn't cause the violation but if you must replace it try a sausage egg and cheese bisquit.

Morning guys....Ouch Marcus. Are detectors illegal in NE? County highways are sometimes less than 60 in Kansas, but not the State or US ones.

I went out last night with several guys to a stag/nut fry. Had a good time drank a couple beers, ate too much. I'm suffering a little today those rich nuts are making me uncomfortable.

Ahh the old nut feed.....mmmmmm.....they are rich....No the detectors are not illigal....I have always prided myself in being able to avoid and a lot of times will run just enough to not get a ticket.......although I talked to a friend the other day and they said they got stopped for 63 in a 60 and got a warning........what's up with that?

What kind of detectors are you guys using? I always like the ads for the Valentine's........

Escort, Tom has a 9500, I have an older 8500.
I've saved thousands of dollars over the years, all on the 5-10 over stuff.

I wouldn't mind upgrading to a new one but mine keeps working well.

Valentines work very well too.
At one time, I thought it would be neat to have the arrows but realized that when the detector goes off, who cares where the cop is? It goes off, you check your speed and slow down if needed until it quits.

I've had my older Escort and a Valentine on the dash at the same time on a 4 hour trip. They were very close on alerts.

It takes at least 6 months to get used to one and you have to train yourself to hit the brakes immeadiately. The instant on radars and laser's will nail you if you're on the road by yourself (rabbits are your friends). They don't work at all against an airplane with a stopwatch.

If I had the bucks, I'd have the Escort hidden system in my rides.

Escort's new GPS/Detector is really nice but pricy. At least, it looks like a GPS moy a detector.

Good Morning CGs!

Watching the rugrats today while wifey is at work. So far so good....typical fighting over toys, but that goes away quickly.

Went to Ikea last night and bought a nightstand and side table for the baby's room to be. I told my wife painting the old furniture was about 6 hours work and would look like crap...and it's true. So for under $200 we bought new stuff. The old furniture wasn't any great family heirloom, anyway.

I also got a new phone last night. Mine was only 2 years old and starting to have problems internally. I think they build them like that intentionally. Anyway, I got the samsung galaxy s slider phone. A very nice phone, similar to my old one that I liked, so it won't take a lot of adjusting to get used to it.

Other than that, not much to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Our neighbor was a criminal investigater for the Lincoln police department. He had been a local cop here for 8 years prior. He was 37.

He was on his way to work on I80 when his 2000 Dodge Neon drifted into the median and hit a culvert. The car went airborn rolling over and he did not survive. It's a bad deal....We only knew him and his family enough to wave but know his folks well.

Thanks for your thoughts........

evening guys....I made it to KC. Tired, but here in one piece. Sorry about the neighbor Marcus, sh!t happens to the best of people.

I have an escort 8500 X50. Does a very good job of sniffing out those radars. I'm not really that much of a speeder...5-7 over usually, but it is nice to be alerted that they are around. When it goes off I check my speed compared to the limit, just a reminder.
