I was up before the dawn. Had to load a Persian Lime tree for delivery for this morning. It's all good. I was done by 07:00 AM. Not sure what I'm gonna get my mitts into today but I'm sure it will come to me. I think working on the pig pen and hosing out the back patio has potential. I need to level a spot in the back yard too. Still have about 5 pick up loads of mulch that still need to be done .... sometime. Think I'll do that during the week when i have the crew to help me. I want to move stuff forward in leaps and bounds. The only way to do it is to leap. Have a nice Sunday gang.

Good Morning CGs!
Well, I finished another brake job from hell yesterday. Wasn't difficult, although it was time consuming. I decided to do brakes all around on the Xterra. Had the rotors cut the other day and got those put on. Put on the abutment brackets and started mounting pads the other day. The pads weren't sitting correctly in the shims, too tight. So I ended up removing all the calipers and abutment brackets again. Once I had the brackets off, I filed each one by hand to remove any corrosion and built up crap. Some of them had some casting ridges, too. Did a nice job cleaning those up. I also cleaned up the pad tabs, too. After that they all fit nicely. The new rear abutment shims in the box didn't fit properly, they were cut/designed wrong, so I cleaned up the old ones and used those. What else can you do? So it took a while longer than expected. But it's done. Did my bed-in procedure and the rims are almost black now, so I'm guessing they work Hope everyone has a great day! Matthew |

2011 Memorial Day Car Show Winner!

Good Morning Tommy and all...
My mitts are going to try to tackle the garage today. I need to drag everything out and only replace the necessities. I want to be able to either park another car in there along side the Corvette or at least be able to pull one in to do an oil change without pulling the Corvette out. I also have a flyer to finish up for our Corvette show. It should have been done months ago but I just got the details a couple weeks ago. They are screaming for the flyer and I have had little time to work on it. Crap crap crap. I wound up going to a classic car show yesterday instead of the ProSolo event. A friend called me and I went out to meet him. I wish I had my camera with me because there was an incredible 1960 Lincoln Convertible there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/carphoto ... 0/sizes/l/in/photostream/ I think this is the same car... but anyway. This Lincoln stil had the factory paint and was so freaking incredible you would think it was painted last year. I could barely find a fault in the paint and it was buffed out to a really nice shine. The interior had been redone with new leather but was perfect in every way. Apparently the car was kept in a garage at a summer home in the North East (Connecticut) and it sat for years only being used as a vacation wagon when the owners would fly up to the shore for summer vacations. Soooo.... What to get into now? |

Don. It's called time management. You can't go to a car show and design a flyer for onr too. Matt. How did you get a pic of my FILs home office? I'm doing my usual today. If I see something that needs to be done I'm gonna do it. My wife loves to ask me what my plans are and I always tell her The first thing that comes up. She doesn't get it. I do things as I see them. I don't plan it out. I just do it. Pisses her off when I don't have a set plan. ....... Matter of fact, it pisses her off when I do have a plan. |

Today, I have to drag out the tablesaw. Building an oak transition that will go from hardwood flooring to carpet.
Sand, stain and install it and that room's done, then I gat to clean the crap out of the guest bedroom to start the hardwood floor................but not today. |

Stayed up late keeping track of the storms....mostly rain and wind. The Spring Game over in Lincoln was cancelled due to weather.....they usually have 60 to 70K people show up for a glorified practice. First cancellation since 49.
I see another line of storms forming up out west so could be another wild night. Church in a bit and then try and fix my daytime running light on the C5.... Have a good day off Guru's.... |

We had a customer a few years back when I was working at the PO. He wore a nametag that said his name and AUTHOR underneath. We used to get a kick out of it. Nobody knew who the f@ck he was. He just liked to wear the nametag. LOL.
I had the good fortune of meeting celebrities and sports stars at the PO counter. It was one of the perks of the job. I've gone into a few clubs and restuarants and people sometimes stare aat me like I am somebody. Sometimes I just smile and act out. Inside I'm laughing because they're trying to figure out who I am. Well of course ........ I'm the World Famous Tommy T-Bone. |

Howdy! I put a real good dent in the mattress last night, despite storms rolling through. Nothing severe here yet, but it sure looks like other parts of the country were not so fortunate.
Very cool Lincoln, Don! When I was a kid, our next-door neighbor had some relatives that would visit every year, with a couple of boys around my age, and we got to be friends. They had a Lincoln like that, but a sedan. It was so over-the-top that I always gawked at it. Enjoy your day, everyone! |

Two men were having coffee, when one of them said:
"Last night, my son just walked into the living room and told me: 'Dad, cancel my allowance immediately, rent my room out, throw all my clothes out of the window, take my TV, stereo, iPhone, iPod, and my laptop. Please give my jewelry to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Then sell my car. Take my front door key away from me and throw me out of the house. Then disown me and never talk to me again. And don't forget to write me out of your will and leave my share to my brother.'" The other man replied, "Wow, he really said that?" "Well, he didn't put it quite that way. He actually said... 'Dad, I've decided to work for Obama's re-election campaign.'" |

Morning guys....I didn't get home until after 1am this morning. Cleaned up the whole mess after the prom dance. What took us the better part of two weeks, came down in 45 minutes, and over $2k of decorations in the dumpsters. What a freaking waste. We had good help from parents to clean it up. By the time I got home,it was after 1:30, and then almost 2 before we got in bed. Up at 7:45 to go to church. After church we went out for breakfast. Just got home.
I have several things to do today, we'll see what actually gets done. Cool Lincoln! |

Never fails.
All I wanted to do was make an oak transition molding to finish up the bedroom. I went to adjust the blade angle on my tablesaw and the adjusting wheel broke in half. So blow an hour and a half making a new adjusting handle. At least the molding's cut. I'm bleaching the oak to match the flooring right now. I notice that the handle angle appears to exceed 90*. Does that make it more difficult to make the blade angle adjustments? Ergonomically it may cause excess strain with extended use. |

Yea. well, a 5/16-18 tap requires a "F" diameter drill bit which I don't have. So The hole I drilled was a bit too small and the tap went in at a slight angle. But I don't care, it's just a f'in tablesaw which I hate to use anyway. If it was a Corvette or a racecar, I would have gone out and bought a f'in "F" sized drill bit. |
