Good Morning CGs!

Last night after I came home from work I began our next landscaping project. The wifey doesn't like the landscape river rock that runs all along our driveway, garage, and front walk. So I'm removing it all. What a horrible job. I worked 2 1/2 hours last night until it was too dark to see around 8:30. Got one side done. We were originally going to pay to have someone remove it and haul it away, but my neighbor wants it for his backyard. So he can have it. He will have workers there on Monday to move it so I need to get cracking on the other side tonight. It is a lot of labor. You can only rake/shovel part of it, so the rest you pick out by hand. So my fingers hurt...lol. Asked the wife to help with it today while I'm at work but she is already busy with church, kids, cooking dinner...convenient I'll try to snap some photos later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

There was an article I read not too long ago where wives were complaining when their husbands retired, they started spending too much time around the house. How it disrupted their routine and they wished the husbands had kept working. This is no longer a sexist issue. Guys that retire before their wives suffer the same feelings of disruption and despair. When the wife cannot work or just takes a day off, their is a major shift in the force. Projects or planned entertainment takes a major shift with the presence of another. Does this sound selfish to feel like this? Of course it does. Whether you're a man or a woman, the castle is shared. Try to make suggestions that will help her fill her time. Don't you have some shopping to do? Today would be a great day to go visit your mother? My, it's been a long time since you've seen (insert name here). Here is one more suggestion. Dress up in a Darth Vader costume and suggest your spouse ......

I get a kick out of the writers that live in some kind of fantasy land. Again, notice how the man, that busted his ass as a provider/ co-provider is viewed when he takes an exit from the work environment. It does help to explain why some men never retire or why others die young. Foolishness .......

Happy Earth Day......yay yay....I think I will go pick up some trash out in the road ditch.....People are pigs, they just throw stuff out the car windows....now if you are underage and drinking beer well of course you have to get rid of the cans......but not the fast food junk damit....

I think it's time for the crying Indian ads again..

I spent 4 hours on the C5 yesterday inside and out....top to bottom....it sparkles.....then I went and took some pics for the Guru car show....very nice!

Nice out today....I may go play a round of golf this morning in honor of my Dad who passed away on this date years ago in the wreck of his aircraft.....the day before the accident we had played 18 holes and had a great time together. It tought me an important lesson about life. And that is that everyday is special and to take time to enjoy your loved ones, things can change in a second.....

Let's get out there and seize the day and grab some trash in the ditch while your at it Guru's.....Enjoy!

I love the crying Indian add and hate lazy mofos that make our environment a pig stye. Everything to me can be reveresed by penalizing offenders with community service. Get caught littering, nothing that 80 hours of picking up roadside trash can resolve. Matter of fact I'm a big community service advocate. I think minor drug offenses, petty theft and a host of other non violent crimes can be better addressed by a short stint of community service. Just long enough to help you remember why you don't want to be a scoflaw. Or would that be too demeaning ......

Wifey is working an Earth Day fest in Coral Gables. We sell products that help offset negative environmental impact. Plants and trees beauty and enrich our environment. We are not tree huggers but we do support improving our lifestyles through pollution management. Recycling and discovering better and more efficient ways to produce power are important to us as well as managing resourses. I don't know much about purchasing carbon credits but I do know that corporations have an obligation to practice sound impact and recovery practices. I'll get off the soapbox now.

Howdy! A good way to honor your dad indeed, Marcus! Looks like I'm going to play golf this morning, despite the fact that it will be soggy and cold. A friend made the reservations, and if they weren't cancelled 48 hours in advance, he'll get dinged for it. Oh well, it should be about a balmy 48 degrees when we tee off.

It is true, many people are inconsiderate pigs. Just look around at the office to see how people leave the coffee area or the bathroom without a second thought. I always liked the crying Indian commercial.

Hope your day is drier and warmer than mine!

Wow!! Already stirring the pot Tommy. I think both writers of those Husband Retirement articles are female ASSHOLES. What a bunch of bunk. I do more work around my house than my wife will ever dream about doing in her lifetime.

I actually liked the ASSHOLE video for some twisted reason.

It's raining here today and I should be getting more house stuff done but instead I'm sitting here surfing the Corvette and Miata forums. I have been procrastinating for weeks now to install my new front spoiler on the Corvette, so maybe I'll do that today or.... maybe just practice retirement. DNBFS

Mecum auctions on TV maybe? Something like that. Mecum auctions are the most constructive use of time on a Sunday I can think of.

If it wasn't raining I'd go out and pick up trash in honor of Earth Day as I have enough in my own yard that gets blown in from the miscreants and dregs that show up in town on the weekends from the big city of D.C.

LOL. I bought a new set for the front of my 90 over two years ago when the car was repainted. The set that's on there still has some life left in it. Or so I tell myself.
It's on my list. LOL

Both Vettes got rinsed, wiped down and detail sprayed to keep them looking pretty. I'm gonna wash and spray the 911's and if I'm up to it I'll do some interior detailing. Sounds like a good way to spend my day.

I think I'm going to reactivate my car covers.

Well guys...I'm home. It was a long day. Got up and went to church @7:30 then back to the daughters house, load up the car and head for Wichita. The wife has meetings there the next three days, so I dropped her off and she will ride home with another gal. While I was there, we went down to see where I'm having the surgery in three weeks, where to check in etc, found a motel room to stay in the night before, not too far from the surgery center. I have to check in @ 5am that morning and we won't get to Wichita until 10pm or so the night before. Actually looking forward to this surgery. After doing that we went out to eat and then I dropped the wife off at the motel where her meetings are and headed home.

Once home I washed the car as it was about a filthy as it has been in a long time. My neighbor came over while I washing the car and asked me if I'd seen what our water rates are going to do this summer....I said I'd heard they were going to double, "yea", he tells me, base rate going to $40.85/month....WTF? I thought our basic rate was like $10. Looks like we are going to have a dead lawn from here on out.

While we were in KC I pointed out a house for sale, and my wife asked if I wanted to retire in KC? "Nah, probably right where we are unless the utility rates get crazy" ........ With the water rates going sky high, maybe it's time to start thinking about moving somewhere else.
