My neighbor (a biologist) came by yesterday to look at a gopher tortoise that someone nursed back to health after an injury. They are endangered and illegal to possess without a permit. I told the person that had it to release it to the wild. The biologist says that they carry a virus that could be harmful to other animals so it has to be tested then released. So now we are waiting to find an outfit that will test and release the tortoise because thanks to my wife, we are now in possession of this reptile. While my neighbor was by they commented on how great our place looks compared to how it was. He said he has over 300k in his place and would be more than happy to trade heads up. That's three of my neighbors that all said they'd love to have this place. Can't really blame them. I love to have this place too. Just wish I could find some of Matt and Brads energy.

Good Morning CGs!

Trying to prepare myself for the hot weather today, about 92* according to the news last night. Whew that's a hot one. Scattered showers throughout the day as well. Great, hot AND muggy.

I drove home last night with the top off the car for the first time in a while. Since I got the new top I hadn't taken it off. Wow that was nice. I forgot how pleasant it is to pop it off and feel the breeze.

Hooked up the pool filter system last night. Of course I still haven't found the correct o-ring gasket at 4 different stores, so I improvised. We'll see if it leaks.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I used to coat the o-rings with vasoline. Amazing how a little petrolium jelly can stop the leaks. What happened to the old one? Is it still usable? Coat it and reuse it. Shop online for the replacement. You could have a new one in a few days.

LOL!

I got up a lot earlier than I intended to, so hopefully there will be a nap in my future. I expected it to be raining - the sun is shining now, but it did rain overnight and sounds like there's more on the way. Maybe I'll be able to get some more work done on the patio in between. If not, my wife managed to get a nasty virus on her laptop, so that will keep me busy.

Have a good day, yawlz!

I am sure that the law will be slow moving on the illigal tortoise possesion charges Tommy. Your lawyers should be able to come up with a Tort reform defense but the waiting may become torturous. I would recommend sharing some totillas with your new pet to pass the time..........Or you may want to roll a torpedo to help with the.....nevermind.....

Good morning Guru Nation.......it is fine to be alive with the whole weekend ahead. Warm here today, lots of little towns around here having car shows, so may drive up and take a look. I am in one on the 9th of June. The owner where I get my vehicles worked on is celebrating 40 years in business and having a car show as part of it. May show the bike and the car if I can get them both ready.

Have a great weekend......

Any one of yous around Pensacola or know of any Vette things or car shows around here? I can't find anything but Leo's Corvette and that wasn't what I expected. Thinking about going back to bed, plan to go to beach later and shop a little, sun a little, have a couple cold ones and come back to the house, maybe wash the car...

Hey Letty....after you wash the car post a few pics for the car show....maybe at the beach. I haven't seen much on your C5.

There has to be something going on around there for the weekend. Call some of the car parts stores they usually know of car stuff happenings......

Morning guys.....it was a good night for me. Awake nearly every hour but was able to go back to sleep easily, and slept until around 8. Icing right now, but a walk is on the agenda before it gets too warm.

Weather-wise it is going to be hot again today. Unlike yesterday, the temps will get there early. It's already upper 70's, so upper 90's will be easy.

Remember Tom take it slow and easy. You don't want to do this all over again.

Recently I discovered that a 36v golf cart system will burn out a 12 volt bulb in about 3 seconds. I was lucky enough to find a fog light system complette with a relay and 30 amp fuse fo $25 brand new. Only problem was it didn't come with instructions. After veiwing multiple tips on the install I finally figured out what would work. What a PIA that was. Lights are up and running now so mission accomplished. We occasionally use the golf cart for a quick run up the street every now and then just around dark. The lights will keep us visible. We have a large reflective triangle on back so I doubt anybody would misss that. Still not street legal. I like living on the edge.

It's been raining cats and dogs most of the day, so i'm doing fun, relaxing stuff like varnishing a couple of doors, vacuuming, working on removing the virus from my wife's laptop, and taking down wallpaper in the kitchen so I can paint it.

I'd be happy to send you some if I could - it's so wet there are mushrooms all over the yard. The wallpaper isn't too bad of a job, since I have a steamer - just messy. I got halfway done, will finish up after dinner. Thankfully the walls won't need too much TLC before painting.

It's always interesting here. Sunny today, 80 on Monday.

The day after Memorial day is usually the start of the rainless season. But, I've been snowed on in shorts & a tee shirt at Tahoe in August.

Did some yard work after I got home and then took the cover off the pool. To my delight, the water was crystal clear. Filling it now so I can start treating it tomorrow and running the filter.

Evening guys it has been a good day for me, not that I did anything special, just had a good day. Did go out to church this evening, but came home right after as that wore me out. It has been raining for the last 30 minutes or so....we really, really need it.

I can't wait until I can get around like a normal person again. I hope everyone has a great evening/night.

Well, I didn't get it washed, got up, then went back to bed for a nap, then drove to Pensacola Beach, had some great fish tacos at Flounders, then since my birthday is just around the corner I treated myself to what I thought was gonna be a slice of key lime pie... It was... three of them stacked on top of one another, I shared most of it with some other dude sitting by himself at a nearby table. I took my bucket of beer and walked out to the beach and stayed there for like four hours... my friend drove up, then we ate at Crabs, then took a ghost hunt tour of the Pensacola Lighthouse. I took a couple of pics of the car at the base there by the planes....Came home and might do it all again tomorrow...
(oh and please disregard where I got that back rim into a curb and same side back end that moved my neighbor's $2 truck over a food that was crossways behind me when it shouldn't have been )

Thanks Matt Feel free to move them to the appropriate place if you want. I won't be around a computer tomorrow, I'll be driving, and gone all day today. I don't have any pics of this but the dash has been sanded and then painted to match the exterior of the car, the rollbar in there was designed and fabricated by the previous owner at his body shop. He'd prefer I didn't show pics of any details of that thing, I'm supposed to help him get his patent started for it.
I do have some I took by that huge beachball on a pole when I was here last summer, but the car wasn't mine yet. Have some more that I did take after detailing it when I did get it at the lake near the house back in September. One of those is the one I'm using in my avatar, if you look close you can see that red bar under there.
I tried to upload pics but it just keeps 'processing' and won't upload ....
Have a nice one or two taken this past Halloween with beautiful fall colors in the trees too
