good morning gurus. happy memorial day. say a prayer for our troops. nothing going on here today. healing up my sore muscles from yesterday. i hand dug 4 post holes for a privacy fence. the ground was hard clay. it was like concrete. had a power digging but it wouldnt cut it. got out the manual digger and got to work. had a friend helping also. well have a good day gurus.

Good morning, all!

We'll head out in about an hour to watch my father run the memorial service in Ardmore. It's always a good chance to see him in his choker whites (which still fit).

Afterwards, I'll drive my mother back to her house in the 'vert - another tradition.

Morning guys....Thank God for this great country and those who protect her and have protected her for us, especially those who have given the ultimate price. Rosie put old glory out on display first thing again this morning. Long may she stand.

I had an OK night, every two hours I was awake. Just achy and couldn't get comfy. About time for me to go out for short walk.

Took this awhile back.....

Got tied up with the little one this morning so no time for chat.

Got the pool chemicals put in last night. Water looks good, ph etc are good. Chlorine is a little high from the shock as of last night but that's normal and won't hurt anything.

I set another personal record yesterday in my deadlift...that's 2 in 2 weeks and I beat my old one by 20 lbs. Als pr'd in the side press 2 days ago. Feeling good and strong. The other day someone asked me about motivation. My health is my number one motivation. Don't want to be overweight like many in my family and have a triple bypass like my grandma. I like playing with my kids and having stamina. Plus working out gives me energy and makes me feel good. I like to constantly improve myself. So there are lots of reasons. Everyone needs to find their own individual motivation.

To our fallen brothers and sisters who gave their lives so we could could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

And to the politicians that have diluted those freedoms with a mass of convoluted regulations I fly this flag for you.

My Memorial Day duties are now complete. I finished my tasks as a manly man doing manly things. I manned my position at the grill preparing steaks and German sausages for our Memorial Day Grand Finale weekend meal. Yesterday we attended a BBQ birthday party for a 4 y/o. Later we will sit back and (hopefully) enjoy watching the Miami Heat play the Boston Celtics. We did some shopping today picking up items for the cars and trucks with a stop at a couple of grocery stores to pick up some specials. It's all about saving money. Didn't take advantage of any unbelievable blowouts at the local car dealers or any Memorial Day Extraviganza Sales at the local retailers. Just grocery and car stuff. Now I have a few things to help keep me busy for awhile. (Like I need a few things to keep busy with.) Hope everybody had a nice kick off the summer season. For me that means hurricane season is right around the corner.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day, I am pooped. Just got home from the drive back up from Pensacola. Gonna have a Corona and relax a bit. Thougth I might sit outside but it's 100 here today. Thought I'd wash the bugs off the car too when I got home... NOPE, ain't gonna happen.

Worked on the car when I got home, went for a dip in the pool, then ate BBQ. Does it get any better???

I really hate to be anal... but Memorial Day is a day to honor the war dead. A day of somber reflection of those who died in service of our country.

A couple weeks ago, we had Armed Forces Day, which honors those currently serving. In November, we will have Veteran's Day, a day to honor those who served and are still with us.

On this Memorial Day, a quiet prayer to those who died for the cause. We must never forget.

Actually, a busy day... today we went to Home Depot... want to get some fence to dress up the front yard with.

I spent the last 90 minutes outside picking up the remains of a bush I cut down last week... need to pick up more, but ran out of bin space.

Feels good to sit down - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I worked on the patio all day, got it done. Now I just have to integrate a little platform so I can finally build the back stairs to the deck. When I finished the patio, I had to mow the lawn. I hopped on the rider and pulled the button to engage the blades, and *nothing* - the belt broke. So I had to use the walk-behind mower, just what I needed after working on the patio all day. Looking forward to a nice, relaxing day at the office tomorrow :-P
