I've never really had a desire to go to Hawaii. It's too much like Florida except for the mountains, volcanos and Polynesians. Other than that, we have the pineapples, sandy beaches, hotels and some killer weed. A funny thing about being a tourist in far off destinations is .... You look like a tourist. When Americans travel the world you can usually tell them from the general poulation. They stick out. For an example, wearing say, a Hawaiian shirt in Paris.
Americans do that. Or a Polo shirt in The Serengeti.
I don't want to go to Africa either. Africa is like Florida too. We have elephants, giraffes, lions tigers, gazelles. We even have decendants of Africans. I like to go places that I've never been as long as they're not too hot, not too cold, not too barren, not too crowded, not too desolate. not too far away, not too close and they have all the creature comforts. It appears that through the years that I have become a creature of sorts. therefore I need the comforts. Have a good day gurus. Make the best with what you've got. And don't be afraid break out that wild shirt you have in the back of the closet. Afterall, you are an American.

Howdy! Beautiful day here - a lot of folks must've come back to work today, since traffic sucked. I'm glad we made the trip to Hawaii back in '07, but I doubt if I'll go back. The scenery and ocean were beautiful, but it was outrageously expensive, and the service is lousy.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Good morning Guru's from Kansas City. My BIL has done me proud by calling me and offering me a ticket to tonights All Star Game. He is a suit with a transportation company in KC and a vender dropped a couple of great late tickets on him and he called me to accompany him. We had got Uboy and my bil's son tickets about 6 months ago for their birthdays. So we get to go with our kids which is cool. If they have better seats then us though we are taking them over.......

I drove the C5 down yesterday afternoon (avg 27.3 mpg)as I had to work yesterday and Ultrawoman and Uboy had already come down......so of course my tummy is not good this morning so need some mojo on that if you have any to spare....

It's just nice not having to work....the weather is a bit cooler today so that should help.

Tommy you can come out to Nebraska....we have uhh.....corn...and soybeans and really wild western shirts with the pearl snaps instead of buttons.......Have a great day Guru Nation.....

We have them shirts here. And cowboy boots and buckles and good ol'boys and girls too. High school is lots of fun around here for the kids. We have gangbangers, rednecks, hoodsters, and plain ol' nice folks all sharing the same square footage. Oh, the kids here have a ball ........

I went to Daytona and watched a roundy-round NASCAR race. One time was more than enough. Too many people for my liking. Now if you want just to go see the track and the onsite museum, then that would be cool.

Going on trips alone is like going fishing by yourself. You say to yourself. Whoo-Hoo! Check that out. There it is. Isn't that something. Or you say it to some passing stranger, and they go ... It's like going to the Mustang Ranch alone. It's much better if you go with a friend. That way you can share stories about the conquests you both just paid for.

Not saying you do. I'm just saying for me it's a more meaningful experience if I can share the experience with someone (after the fact). Sure, you can do many fun things alone. When you catch a big fish, it's nice to have someone there to say. "Look at the size of that m'er f'er". Or when you're at the track and things go good or bad, you can grab an ear and say

I get tired of doing crap alone, so I've just gotten to where I sit home and look at four walls. Don't like that, either.
Occasionally I'll go to the local mall or Wal-Mart and people watch. I swear all those folks on 'peopleofwalmart.com have been in our local store here.

Evening guys (you too Letty)... It's been a busy day. I've been working on the projects I took on last week to try and finish them up....and I did. Then I went around to figure out how I am going to do the big cabinet job. I was given access to a county owned building to be able to lay out all the doors and drawer fronts to stain and finish them. All this because of the time constraints we are under to get this job done (a joint project between the county and the school district....thus the access to the county owned building) looks like I won't be getting any vacation.

I can start the staining and finishing. Cabinets were delivered today. I got the building ready and the finish sanding done. The city set up a temp power for me and the electrician a temp power panel. I'll take the compressor and my spraying guns up tomorrow.

I'm tired and worn out from all the work. My knee is aching too. Time to put my feet up and get ready to watch the All Star game......wish I was sitting with Marcus.

I'm actually quite lucky. The older I get the less sports I watch. I'm a fair weather fan. I like to watch the playoffs. Although I did watch more than a few Heat games this year. I have less time now than ever. I'd be lucky if I knew half the AllStars. If you like it, that's cool. I'm just saying I've drifted away.

The job our company is working right now is to build a green buffer on a bayfront propery. The neighbors son, a teenager, was using the lot as his personal playground. He was bringing out his RC plane and helicopter and flying them around after school. The property owners said they wanted to block it off as they were concerned about a possible liability issue. The boys father pulled out of their driveway in his Maserati sedan, looked at the buffer, then backed up to talk to his son. This property is on the tax roles with a 6 million dollars valuation. It has a small house on the property in which the property owners daughter lives. So they're spending about 25K to keep the kid off the property. A few no trespassing signs would have been a lot cheaper.

My delivery schedule may be increasing. My wife had two requests for a meeting today. One in the same enclave she's working in now and then with another Grove resident. Keep me busy. Deliveries from me mean only one thing. Tomorrow I have to go pick up the the trailer from the job site. The customer ordered more material. Isn't retirement grand? I'm only glad I have the time now to give to the business. When I was working 9 to 6 I didn't have time for squat.

Ya...it was over after the 3rd inning but still a lot of fun stuff to do and look at. Bottle of water was 4.75 Sixteen oz beer was 8.00 and 9 for imported. We had passes to the BILs vendors deal in the Founders Club at Arrowhead stadium where we got free hats and All Star baseballs plus we got to eat at the lavish buffet. We were high rolling....it was fun.

Game sucked but we kept busy with eats and drinks...after the game we collected stuff everybody left behind....I got Uwoman a nice pair of sunglasses and a bunch of T shirts that each seat had taped to it so that the stands would have the red white and blue look. From high rolling to dumpster diving in about 4 hours.....nice!
