I realized this morning my wedding anniversary is a mere 3 days away. Better put on my thinking cap again. What do you get for a woman that doesn't need anything? I know it's the thought that counts but if not enough effort is put into the thought, someone will feel neglected. We wouldn't want that, now would we. It will be #28. How does one make it more than 28 years in a relationship? For me, I spent the first 17 in a fog. That probably helped. Guess I'll look up what material goes with 28 and go from there.

Hhmmpphhh! Looks like over 20 year anniverseries you don't get a gift every year. Lucky me. They start to spread out. I wonder how she'd feel about a new central A/C combo.

Honey.... Hope you like your new compressor and air handler.

It's a thought anyway .........

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy, I think the 28th anniversary is burlap. Like a bag she can carry your head around in after she decapitates it for getting her burlap for your anniversary

Glad to have a day off but I have a lot of chores to do today. Wife was supposed to work but got called off so that will help a bit. I'm gonna call the doctor later and see about getting a referral to a chiropractor. I found one not too far away that I like, we'll see if that works out.

Other than that....dunno.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning Guys....didn't sleep real well last night. I have to say, I am glad that I called and talked to him Tuesday night. My big regret is that I didn't take Tuesday and drive down to see him in person.

I've cleaned the temporary shop as I finished up all of my work down there yesterday. I still have some shelves and doors there, but I can move those as soon as the carpet layers are done.

Speaking of anniversaries, mine is a week away too, 37. I need to figure something out myself.

Actually, coming from a woman, this is gonna sound a bit sappy - but... go to the local Hallmark store, they have a "Between You And Me" card section there - those things say all that you can't think of to say - get one of those, but take it a step further, get some nice paper and write her a letter telling her all the great memories you have of you two and how you met and all that jazz, making it a lot more personal. Enclose some little $150 necklace of some sort along with a full day at the spa gift card (those run around $200-$300 depending on services), send her away for the day. Then, she's happy - you're free to do whatever in the world you please for an ENTIRE DAY.....You both win. At the end of the day, go out for dinner have some drinks, come home, hope in the sack and.. well nevermind, you can figure out the rest....

Well it's been a productive day so far. After the kids got up, got RR#1 washed and dressed while wifey took care of the other. Made them breakfast and cut the front and back lawn. I called the chiropractor and he had an early appointment available for me. I got cleaned up and went over there. He spent over an hour with me doing a consult, history, xrays, exam, and finally an adjustment to my back. He cracked some bones I didn't even know I had. Hurt so bad it was good. A little pain for a lot of relief is totally worth it. I'm supposed to go back tomorrow to go over my xrays and work up a continuing care plan. I really like the dr, very knowledgeable and proficient, good personality. He thinks I've had back problems for a long time (probably true) and hurting it last week was just the trigger. Sounds about right.

Supposed to go out to dinner later with the wife and kids. Fun fun fun.

I have used chiroprcatic services many times over the years. I gave it a good solid effort but my back problem is chronic. I tried back specialists, acupuncture and chiropractic. The back doctor prescribed physical therapy for 6 to 8 weeks.(Drugs would have been nice) That was difficult but helpful. I just didn't keep up the exercise routines, nor was I likely to. The acupuncturist did wonders. Crawled in twice, walked out twice. Like chiropractic, they would like you to come for at least several visits. Many treatments require a lifestyle change. My family MD even sugggested I change careers. Ahh... No Doc. The job I had paid the bills and provided me with the medical insurance so that I could afford to see him. That career now supplies me with a monthly stipend. Excercise is important to keep the muscle groups strong. You do not want to exercise to the point you are causing further injury. Take care of your back Matt and it will tale care of you. You too may have some hope in bed.

I took a nice long nap this afternoon. One of those naps that I couldn't sleep anymore, so I finally got up. I feel refreshed now. The past few days I was kinda run down. Hot summer days tend to do that to me. Time to start dinner. Where did the day go? ....

I'm working on my romantic letter to my wife. Here is what I've got so far.

My love for you is like a grilled cheese sandwich. I'm all warm and toasty and you make me melt on the inside. You are a pickle of a person. Your sour and tart demeanor add a special mix to the plate we call our relationship. Add salt and crunch. We'll let the chips fall where they may. Oh yes my darling. My love for you is like a grilled cheese sandwich.

Whadda ya think? Aye?

I better get this ready just in case .......

Grilled cheese:

Paint 1 in. thick sourdough bread with garlic butter, layer Munster, Monterrey Jack, extra sharp white cheddar and a slice of heirloom tomato.

I made one like this a couple weeks ago.

The more jalapenos I eat, the less heartburn I get.

Yesterday at the local casino I had a "South of the Border", basically a Philly cheesesteak (with that soupy cheese) that's covered in Jalapenos.

Note: Do not eat one of these and then take a nap.

Back in the day I used to get off at 06:00 AM. I went to a bar that opened at 07:00 and hung there till the beer bar with pool tables opened at 09:30. I'd play till around 12:30 then go to a local Thai restaurant for lunch (my dinner) before retiring. I don't know how many times I regretted doing that but I did it more than a few times. I hardly ever sleep right after a good sized meal anymore. Experience is your best teacher.

Husband Down on Aisle 5

A husband and wife are shopping in their local supermarket. The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.

"What do you think you're doing?" asks the wife.

"They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans" he replies.

"Put them back, we can't afford them" demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping.

A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.

"What do you think you're doing?" asks the husband.

"It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful," replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: "So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price."

He never knew what hit him.

Since S.Florida is as big as many states I'm not surprised I didn't see it. Florida is known fo wacky weather. It can rain on one side of the street and not the other. It can rain while you are in full sunshine. I didn't know you were such a big rainbow fan Bill.

I thought Arkansas was the only place that happened. Couple years ago in March I was sunbathing out back on the deck and by the end of the week we had 6" of snow. And yes it will rain here and the other side of the street will be dry.
We have a saying if you don't like the weather, stay a minute it'll change...you can see all four seasons in a week here
