Good Morning CGs!

Rise and shine, it's time for a new day

Yesterday was pretty good as far as a Saturday goes. Spent time with the family in the morning at the zoo, came home and did some little chores, got in a great workout, and worked in the garage for a couple of hours. Once the kids got home, I took care of them for a bit and got them to bed, ate some dinner, then stopped by the neighbors' for a bonfire, sausage, and some beer. Doesn't get much better than that.

Today we have a big party at a banquet hall for my wife's aunt/uncle's 40th anniversary party. Should be a lot of fun.

How was everyone elses' weekend so far?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning

Today I'm taking a ride up to MIL/FILs to drop off a box of okra. Probably do a couple of small chores later and possibly pay a few bills. Maybe I can find a woman suffering from morning sickness and give her the cure.[jk]Planning on having an easy day. Don't know if I can do it but I'll try.

Today I plan to:

Cut the grass
Trim the hedges
Mopp the floors
Vacuum the carpet
And wash the windows

Or... take yesterday's laundry out of the washer and put it into the dryer.

Yesterday I sat in a 2013 ZR1, kinda screwed up the weekend.

Slept in again. Got home fairly early from the wedding, MIL got really tired (85yo and fighting cancer treatment). This morning the BIL his SIL and me are going to go golfing (while it is still reasonably warm), just waiting for them to show up here. After that, we will head for home

Sounds like Bill has an infatuation with a white with blue strips ZR-1. Can't say I blame him.

Tommy, that sounds like a plan, just don't let her read the article...said it needed to be the "father"....or maybe you're not telling us something?

Got to go....I'll check in after I get home.

Yea, yea, I saw 10 on e-b for that price though why I looked I'll never know. There's a 2010 with 1,500 mi. in Reno for $90.

All I have to do is sell the house.

I think I'll pull the Cling-Rap off the '67 frame today and start scotchbrighting.

As I understand ..... it's the thought that counts. No messing around for me. Did that in marriage #1. I don't like lying. Now I have no reason to. 29 years with the same woman. Do I get a medal or something?

Hidey-ho! I also caught up on my beauty sleep. Just looked in the mirror - it didn't help. Think I'll wash the Vette today, since my honey-do list is empty *knocks on head*.

Have a good day, everybody!

So I had to get a new chuck key for the drill press. Two sizes - 1/2" with a 1/4 pilot hole, 1/2" with a 9/32 pilot holes. The 9/32 pilot hole was $.50 cheaper so I bought that one. Guess which one is the wrong size

Guess it'll be back to the hardware store tomorrow.

It's been sprinkling off and on, so I gave the Vette a 2-bucket bath in the garage. I'd heard some good things about Turtle Wax Black detail spray, so I gave that a try - first money I've spent on the Vette all year, besides gas, oil, tabs and insurance. Seemed to work pretty good. Windows washed and Rejexed, leather conditioned, tires 303'd, interior vacuumed, engine wiped down - it's ready for the next unexpected rainstorm.

Just got back from the New Hope Auto Show. The old jalopy did good, picking up a (unexpected) third in class against stiff shark competition. Pictures from the show coming.

Hey guys....I had a good time golfing today. Got back to the in-laws house to eat. Another BIL was there with his wife and kids. He is a PT in a local hospital.

Last week while at the in-laws (for the funeral) the same BIL (Paul) and a first cousin (Scott, who is also a PT and works with BIL) stopped by. Scott says he wished he'd knownw that we were there in the Corvette, as his 6 year old son loves sports cars and would go nuts to see it. I told him we would be back next weekend for the wedding and were planning on driving the Corvette.

Well, yesterday at the wedding we saw Scott and he asked if we were in the Corvette. Yes, but it was at the in-laws house and we drove them in their car. So shortly after I get back from golfing this morning Paul says "There goes Scott driving by. Probably showing Ben the your car." By the time I get to the window they have turned the corner and were driving away. I told Paul to call them and bring Ben back so he could really see it and I would take him for a ride.

Shortly they were back and I put the booster-seat in the Corvette. While putting the seat in little brother asked if he could go too "I'll ride in the back seat" I tried to explain that the Corvette didn't have a back seat, but he didn't hear me at all and walked off pouting. I put Ben in the seat, buckled him up and off we went for a ride. You could sense the excitement from the little 6 year old. He had a million questions. How fast does this car go? You won't drive that fast will you? Etc, etc. We got out toward the edge of town and I romped on it pretty good (took it up to about 75-80) and he said "Are we going to fly?" Went out a few miles and turned around and he asked "Can you make it go fast again?" So I obliged the little guy this time taking it up to about 90. He had eyes as big as saucers.

When we got back to the house he told me "Don't go as fast with my brother, it will scare him." So we swapped boys and I took the other one (and his Teddy bear) for a short ride, it was great. I asked him "Are you kind of excited?" "A little," he said, "but Teddy is really having a good time."

Once we got back the two boys couldn't stop talking about their ride and mom and dad were all smiles and thanks. "You really made two boys very happy today." I think I got as much out of it as they did.
