I had just driven her on a pleasant 200 mi. round trip to see Merle Haggard and Kris Kristoferson and was browsing the local dealer webpage when I spotted the new GS. I have been bugging my wife ever since I retired to move somewhere else. She always has an excuse why we can't. Lately I've been bugging her to buy the empty lot next door which she doesn't want either. So I said Sal, check this new Grand Sport at Bill Kay Chevy. You know, it won't be to much longer and all I'll be good for is oil changes. It would be nice to have something, all I have to do is wax it and it will take me anywhere I want to go for a long, long time. She said, well then, if that's the case you'll just have to forget about that lot next door. That was all I needed to hear and really could not believe it. I moved quickly before she had time to change her mind. Lot, what lot?

To tell the truth, you caught me by surprise.
Enjoy it. You deserve it. Matter of fact, I think we all deserve it.

Now you'll have to get some Race Ramps so you can do those oil changes ;-)

Har! Well, now you can tell your wife that you need to buy something else with the money you saved by not having to get Race Ramps ;-)

Ahhh the old bate and switch.....masterfully done Joe. You hung the lot out there and then introde the new Vette into the mix and somewhat reluctantly agreed to give up the lot.....Bingo green light......Brilliant....!

I must start getting my own plan together.....hmmmmm..let's see now....

I am still shocked, Joe. Needless to say, whoever purchases your former 91 is going to get an amazing car.

Thank, I have 1k mi. on it already and loving every one.
I will say though that the stock seats and cockpit feel in the '91 are hard to beat.

When I sat in a new ZR1 last week, my first thought was that GM just doesn't understand seats.

I also asked the GM marketing guy why their commercials for the new 427 Vert are done on a racetrack when they don't offer a rollbar option. You can't actually go on the track without one.

Seat backs are fine. Seat bottoms, not so much. I'll either get used to them or eventually do something about it.

Yeah, no more trips to Great Lakes Dragaway, except as a spectator. I bet Beech Bend, in Bowling Green would let me make a few passes. Their rule book is missing a few pages.

I thought the side bolsters were rather low, wouldn't help at all in a corner. The C4's are much better.
And there's other new cars out there with much better side support.

Yea, I guess the drags also require bars, I think it's when you hit a certain et or mph.

Hows the power? Did you get the A6? Paddle shifts? That is my favorite interior and not a lot of them out there.

Isn't it 11 seconds that you need more safety stuff....?

They dropped their asking price $1k.
I have over $25k in receipts on that car not to mention my purchase price. There was one small developing issue with it involving..., well PM me if you really want to know.

I don't think you could go wrong there at that price.....and you could no doubt get the car for less if you were making a serious offer....what a great C4.

Anyone who knows anything about C4s will see the ridiculous amount of custom work and time that went in to that vehicle.

Thanks Ron. Love the new ride. New barbershop in town with a couple of cuties cutting hair. Does a #1 ring a bell? At least I can grow it back. Congrats on joining the ranks of the unemployed by choice.
