Took the kids shopping yesterday for back to school clothing. It was at the outside outlet mall. Hot and a lot of walking, we were there about 5 hours. Got home and I was exhausted. Went to bed early and slept in "late". Felt good. Wifey is at work today so I'm in charge of the rugrats.

Got the door latch ordered from the chevy store in town and they said it would be about a week. Same price as the on line bunch so I took it. Then found it 30 bucks cheaper at Cultrag Performance.com but there is 15 bucks freight so 15 bucks cheaper........I will Cultrag next time....

Ac is broken at the house. 85 inside. A little troubleshooting has determined that the fan and compressor capacitor is bad. Neighbor is ordering one for me and should have it tonight.

Yesterday I went to the "city" to pick up some materials to finish the cabinet job I've been working on. Church council met the night before and said we needed to get a little carpet scrap and a couple light fixtures for the secretary in the basement. I said, "Heck I'm going over anyway, I'll pick up what we need." So I go over and pick out a nice remnant the right size and throw it in the pickup, it fits in the bed with the tonneu cover on, then run down to Menards to get my stuff. They don't have this piece of trim I need, so I load up what I bought a sheet of plywood (now the tailgate is down but the cover still on) and decide to try Home Depot. I go in and find out they don't have the trim either. So I decided to try the third lumberyard and go there to find out nobody has the trim I need. So I drive home (25 miles). Once home I throw a couple burritos in the microwave and think to myself, "Self, take the plywood out to the shop while the food is heating up." So I go out and find the carpet is GONE. I think, "How could I have lost it? No freaking way did it 'fall' out." Sometime while I was at HD someone decided I didn't need it as badly as they did. So I jump back in the pickup and drive back to the "city" and select another remnant and pay for this one myself.

This morning I've been working on cabinet bids for a 4-plex project a guy is doing, 4 kitchens, all exactly the same....makes the figuring much easier. And the other is our kitchen. We are going to start it next month.

Sitting here waiting on bids of materials to come back so I can finish those up.

It's the weekend at last ! I have a lot of racing activity planned. Two nights of Supermodifieds on the pavement and then 1 of Sprint cars and big block dirt modifieds. Many pictures will be taken. And just for fun I will be tossing in a family reunion on Sunday as well. I'm taking Monday off "to recuperate". I think lawn work will prevent that from happening.

Worked all morning on the race car. Had to knock off at 3.30 this afternoon.... i was just plain worn out. Car is on a hill, outside in my buddies driveway... it like 90*.... crawling on the ground, man handling the cherry picker and engine really sucked... Still we Managed to get the engine installed and 90% done. Elsie helped alot and withstood my occasional fustration outburst.... lol.

Need to install the mufflers/exhaust, carb/fuel lines, fill the radiator and adjust the valves tomorrow. Then ready to fire.

Made it up to 104 here today and the humidity was pretty high too, so it was miserable. This evening, it clouded up but no relief from the heat.

Tomorrow is the shine and show the next town over. I've pre-registered so I'll go.
