Not really but when I started to type in the subject this popped up so I thought we should have another retro chat....
Well other than a corn test plot I need to look at today I am done scouting fields for the season......16 weeks of work is over.......and I am feeling so happy........happy happy happy........I will celebrate with a nice nap this morning........ Hope you guys all have a really happy day also.......... |

Hidey-ho! It must be Friday, since I put the garbage out. I could've used a combine to mow the lawn last night, it was a jungle. Looks like rain coming this weekend, so I'm sure I'll be at it again soon. Meanwhile, it's been a couple days since we heard the chimney swifts, so hopefully they have left for greener pastures.

Morning guys....It's Friday, I know because I slept in. Turned the alarm off last night. Cool, overcast and calm right now. Not supposed to get too warm today, low 80's. We are headed to the 'city' as Rosie has a Dr. appointment, I have to pick up some materials and try to get #1GS's car to have the remote programmed. Once home I'll have stuff to do in the shop.
Enjoy the time with your dad, Steve. They are gone much too soon. Brad stay on top of that and it doesn't get so tall.  Marcus, take a nice looong nap, old guys like you need that! Catch you later. |

CLOUDY & WET IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. HAD JUST ENOUGH RAIN TO MAKE A MESS. ANOTHER DAY'S PURGATORY TRYING TO DEAL WITH USAA BY PHONE AND ON LINE. AS I SUSPECTED THEY WANT TO TOTAL THE TOMATO. THAT IS UNSATISFACTORY TO ME, AND I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THROUGH TO ANYONE TO CONTEST IT. THIS IS SURE AS HELL NOT THE USAA I JOINED IN 1966. TEE, YOU WANT BRASS CASES IF YOU RELOAD. AND IF YOU DO ANY GREAT AMOUNT OF SHOOTING YOU'LL WANT TO DO THAT AS IT CUTS YOUR COST PRETTY MUCH IN HALF. STEEL CAN BE HARD ON CHAMBERS IF YOU SHOOT A LOT, ALUMINUM IS OK TO SHOOT BUT CAN'T BE RELOADED AT ALL. RELOADING PISTOL AMMO IS PRETTY MUCH FOR HIGH VOLUME SHOOTERS. RIFLE IS A DIFFERENT STORY. FOR MOST RIFLES YOU CAN LOAD AMMO MORE ACCURATE THAN FACTORY, IF YOU CARE TO DO SO. IT'S VERY MUCH A TIME CONSUMING "CUT AND TRY" OPERATION. I'VE ONLY HAD ONE RIFLE THAT WOULD SHOOT FACTORY AMMO BETTER THAN ANYTHING I COULD RELOAD. |

hahaah......now that's a mail delivery system....
dang it Gris......did you post a pic of the damage? That is to bad but you can always buy it back from them and fix it yourself with the help of a body shop guy.....or it may be time for that C6 GS Vert....just thinking out loud.... .....I'm a Here Comes The Sun...type guy.....bright, cheerful, positive attitude and love nature...especially corn fields when its hot......love the beach....and the Black Hills......makes sense to me.... I do favor a few well timed naps these days.....especially with the sun shining on me curled up on the rug....with the dogs......hmmmm....... |

Good Afternoon CGs!
I was out in the yard this morning working. I dumped about 8 bottles of shock in the pool and the vacuum is running to get it ready to close. I also shut off the water supply to the sprinklers and purged the system of water. We need to do that in the Midwest or end up with broken pipes in the spring. TB, that constitutional carry sounds interesting and dangerous at the same time. I would recommend taking a concealed carry course regardless. Another benefit to getting a concealed carry license is the ability to carry it in reciprocal states. As far as the ammunition, I doubt you will be reloading your self as a casual shooter. I don't reload because I don't have the time or energy. I have shot aluminum cases with no problem but I prefer to use Winchester brand range ammo. It doesn't jam, it feeds well, and it isn't overly dirty. Some of the cheaper brands really make the gun dirty with deposits. Gris, how about some pictures of the car? It would be unfortunate if they total it but it might be a chance to get something different. Hope everyone has a great day! |

Sorry to hear about the tomato, Gris. Andy should know something about body damage stuff since he's been a target several times already. Start a separate thread of something like .... Well they want to total my vette to gain some insight. VB (Letty) might know something about this stuff too. |
