Good Morning CGs!

Looking forward to a well deserved couple of days off. I wanted to get the grass cut, but it's rained the past 3 days straight. It's not snow, so that's ok. Fall temps are moving in and I'm enjoying it. I like to cool, crisp weather. Not too hot, not too cold.

There is an Oktoberfest going on locally later, maybe we'll try to stop by. Not sure if it will work into our schedule.

Any big plans for the weekend?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Count me in on the not too hot, not too cold crowd. (Like it is in Reno)

Good mownin. Might get the lawnmower out later today as well. With all the rain and heat we've had lately the weeds are growing like ....... weeds ........ Busy weekend. Friend's birthday tonight, sonny-boy's birthday tomorrow night. I know lots of people love parties. I'm not really one of them. I go but usually not too crazy about it. Enjoy your weekend whatever you do.

IT'S THE ONETH OF OCTOBER IN THE NATIONS, SUNNY & COOL, WITH A PREDICTED HIGH OF 79. THE CHEROKEES CAN LIVE WITH THAT :-)

STARTED MY FIRST OF THE MONTH ROUTINE, WINDING CLOCKS, ROTATING PISTOL MAGAZINES, PILLING DOGS. NOT SURE I SHOULD GIVE THE OLD SETTER HEARTWORM PILL AS SHE IS ON OTHER MEDS, HAVE TO CHECK WITH #1 DAUGHTER.

I KEEP SEEING A DRUMBEAT OF CLAIMS BY THE NATIONAL "SECURITY" BUREAUCRATS THAT SOMEONE IS HACKING ELECTION SYSTEMS. IS SOMEONE LAYING THE GROUND WORK TO THROW OUT THE ELECTION RESULTS IF THE OUTCOME DOESN'T SUIT THEM?

Morning guys....slept in a bit. Went to my CNC forum to check some things out there. Rosie got up a little later than i and is now making a 'big' breakfast. We will go back to the 'city' this afternoon to go to church, as our priest is on vacation and his sub isn't doing Saturday night services. WE also forgot to pick up some stuff when we were there yesterday.

I need to get back out to the shop for a while today to prep the top of the table for CNCing.

Well, nothing's perfect. And I do rum my mouth about the weather here. But, everyone else is giving their weather reports so.............

But, gotta say that this summer's been an exceptional one.

On all but about 3 days, the breeze at 5 p.m. was nice and cool, just open all the windows.

Number of days over 100 - 3.
Number of days I turned on the swamp cooler at 3:30 - 6 or 7
Number of days since May that it rained or we actually had clouds - 6
Number of days when I used the a/c in the Silverado - 6, driving the C4 - 0

It was 90 here on Thursday, lower 60's for the beginning of the week.

Winter's coming, I don't like winter any more but:
the number of times I used my snowblower in the last 3 years - 0

...hmmm....Bill try selling your snowblower and then see what happens....just saying...... I think I got a taste of Reno weather when I was out in the tri cities area seeing #1 last week.....its a desert with big rivers running thru it. All the lawn and irrigation water comes from the rivers and must be a hell of a system. They do not use city water for irrigation so two separate water systems. The lawn sprinklers have a filter system that you have to clean out every week because of the sand and junk in the river water. I really liked it up there. Very diverse agriculture......Onions, grapes, apples, corn and they grow forests of some type of fast growing trees for the bit paper plant up there.

Ok today.....the Huskers against Illinois so gotta get my game face on....have a nice day Guru's......

Can't sell the snowblower, I paid $100 for it.

All the water here comes from snowpack on the mountain, stored in reservoirs and lakes.

The water at my place comes from wells in a huge community system. Costs $23/month. It's very drinkable right out of the tap. The Reno city water tastes like crap.

Can't remember where you were but I've heard that western Washington and that area is a bit like it is here.

Until winter hits.

More work in the shop.

The table is now stained...except for the top. Drawers made and drawer guides built. Notice the drawer fronts, they are made from one piece of wood and match in the middle.

I have the top ready to CNC and was hoping I could do it with my new machine, but I still have a kink to work out on it, so I'll take it school and cut it. I'll let the stain dry good, and I'll spray a couple coats of lacquer on it in the next couple of days.

I'D SAY THE LAST TWO SUMMERS HAVE BEEN EXCEPTIONAL. THIS SUMMER IT NEVER HIT 100 AM GRISHEIM AND ONLY TWO OR THREE DAYS IN THE URBAN AREAS. THE RUSSIANS HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR SOME TIME THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SOME YEARS OF COLD WEATHER DUE TO THE SUN'S ACTIVITY CYCLE.

TOM: THAT JOINERY IS FANTASTIC. WAY COOL!
