Is it? I thought the new radiator stack came into production in 1991. That is the new look rad, at an angle, with the surge tank off passengers side firewall.

New rad stack design came out in 90.

You should be able to use it no problem as your intake duct has the huge oval in it.

Yep, 90 it is (or was) all the same since then apart from the duct work.

why would you want to use it?

Cuz it's expensive and provides no cold-air, and uses crappy K&N or similar filters with the same filter area as stock.

Someone may disagree, but when I see those type of parts on a car, I see a sucker behind the wheel.

So do i, but its not going to hamper performance, some people might like the look, i personally dont, but cant see any good reason not to use it if thats what he likes. Itll flow alot more air than his engine can ever take in.

All do respect for opinions, but I installed the triple cone air inlet simply because when I saw one on another Vette I liked the appearance over the factory looking air-box. If one waits long enough, you can pick one up like I did on one of the forum classified lists, or "fleaBay". I got mine shipped for around $75 several years back. As far as surface area, I'm sure it has been beat to death, but I think I could easily measure and try to calculate the area based on the folds, but I would suspect my cones have at least as much surface area and probably more than the stock shaped K&N sitting in a box on my shelf. I really think it is solely an aesthetic point of view and if someone wants to spend the money on it well, who are we to say anything.

I think we should have a good discussion of the benefits of airfoils, wings, shift knobs, etc.

I'm a Sucker! LOL :me2:

I wouldn't bother, it's already been measured out before.

I guess I just wanted to get the thread starter's attention and make sure he checks out the feedback beyond SLP's catalog and knows what to expect for his money.

Well said!! Exactly why and how I bought mine. HP gains were never the issue, I like the look and have no regrets about my decision. I don't appreciate being called a sucker by someone with a limited and apparently closed perspective.
However, I will consider the source and ignore it.

I got mine cause I liked the looks, I liked the added sound, and on back to back dyno runs they have showed a 7whp gain over stock on an LT1.

I got mine for 125 shipped on brand x about a year ago with real K&N's on it

But I like suckers. Resized Image

If you're putting a part on your car for looks, then its all subjective and none of that applies anyways.

I like mine, but I'd never have paid $300 for it. I bought the body used for $60 on fleabay, and got new filters for around $72.

Case,
You're partially correct. Mine are cylindrical, but have a slight taper.

eh. an engine will only pump what it can pump. a better filter won't make a lick of difference.

I did K&N cause it's not gonna fill up the landfill.
