Now, the civil and correct response would be "Why do you say that Deakins, can you back up your position"? It can get very sarcastic, very quickly. The moderators try to help in some sense, but usually they are in the middle of it as well. It hasn't been bought by one of the big forum corporations though, so that's good. From what I've seen, these corvette forum guys look down on anybody else but themselves.

John, my recommendation to you is, just do what you want and don't even tell what you are doing!!! Is it really that important for these guys to know the details of your build? I probably have close to 400hp rear wheel, but I don't even have the energy to make someone believe me, nor do I give a shit. they aren't my friend or neighbor nor will ever be. For the price of doing the 427, the short block is only $3600, I love the number based on Corvette heritage, and either way I was putting $5K out of pocket. If I sold my old parts, it was $5K out of pocket for the new motor. If I just did the 427, it was still $5K out of pocket. So the decision was easy.
