CSS996 | Anyone have an after market shift knob they love? | ||

I started looking around at websites, and everything I see looks like it was made for an Acura Integra with a body kit. A little too " boy racer" for my tastes.
Hardbar has a nice, simple black knob that looks the business. I'll most likely go for that, but if someone has a suggestion, I'm all ears. I bought a Hurst white ball for my Hurst shifter, and I'm finding it too large. I can go back to stock, but that will get old quickly. Anybody have something different they recommend? Thanks! |

I've got a Delrin shift knob
Works great, cool in the summer, warm in the winter. I had a t-shifter on it for a while, people thought I had an automatic till I pointed out the clutch pedal LOL |

I have a Callaway knob. Smaller than the hurst. Fits nice in the palm of my hand.

The Hardbar knob is Delrin. A very simple tube, basically. Very no-nonsense.
I'll have a look for the Callaway. Never seen one. Thanks. |

Could not find a C4 application on the Callaway site. C5 and F-Body were available though. Perhaps those fit, or I missed something on the site. I'll keep looking around.
The Callaway stuff looked fairly spherical though. I'm leaning away from that shape this time around. Although the right materials, size and such could change my mind. |

It's a little dark, but you can't go wrong with the .44 revolver. |

Well that's different!
At one point I thought about turning a 125cc motorcycle piston into a shiftknob. That was for another Acura I had. I believe I am looking for something a bit more subtle for my application, but the .44 mag cylinder is cool. Thanks for sharing! |

Subtle?, How about a white ball with gold flames that lights up at night? www.flameball.com Jeg's has a nice billit, long style one like you see in the newer racecars. |

That ball is a little too flaming for me. I saw the Jegs piece. That is my close second to the Delrin knob. May even be a tie.

Jegs says fitment for '89-'04 6 speed is 9/16"-18. And they do not list that billet knob in that size. Bugger.
There are several different thread sizes Pappy. If you have one lying around, give it a shot. Jegs did not list a knob for the 4+3 shifter. |

Yeah MAN!
Anyway, back on topic. I find it interesting that on the Jeg's site they list the same fitment for '89-'04 cars (which would include the C5, yes?) while other sites have nice shift knobs listed for the C5 but they do not list that they will fit the C4. Whassupwitdat? |

I have the Hurst white ball... I don't have a problem with it's size...
I also have the Hurst shifter, so they make a nice matched set. Have you considered getting something machined? |

I have an older style black leather MOMO shifter. It is great to use either 'hand on top' style or 'hand wrapped around' style.
It is very similar to the Super Anatomic 3000 Click: Momo |

The Momo is nice. Added to my list.
I suppose I could find a machine shop around here. More time on my end, but I could have something super custom deluxe for possibly less money than some of the pricey options. Good thought. |
