First off, fram sucks......Thats the bottom line. Here are pictures proving that their is cardboard in the filters, that the holes are not big and not alot of them for the oil to pass thru and IMO, the filter itself looks like cheap shit....You can decide if you want this filter on your engine....

I use Wix, known to be of much higher quality that Fram, and just about as cheap if you DON'T get the Napa Gold version.

If you want to learn about filters and oil, www.bobistheoilguy.com is a great forum.

I've been using K&N, but recently bought 4 of the Napa Gold filters cheap from a guy at CF. I've read a lot of good things about the Wix filters.

Just so you're aware there was no difference between the standard Wix filter and the Napa Gold version. The paint on the cam is what they charge the extra money for...nothing inside. However, it's a great filter, so just get the standard Wix and save a few bucks off the price of the Gold.

Yeah, I had read that a while back in an oil filter comparison article. I think I paid $10 for 4 filters, so all is well ;-)

I've even had a bad experience with a Fram fuel filter. The inside came apart blocking the fuel flow, since it was only a week old I was all set to change out my fuel pump but my local NAPA man talked me into checking the filter. I owe him one. I use nothing but Wix on the Vette & my El Camino, the wife's Buick gets AC-Delco.

Eh, oil filters just restrict oil flow and drop oil pressure.

I just jb welded over my filter pad and leave the drain plug cracked open and throw a few quarts in at each gas stop.
