I am sick of the seats/interior burning me up once I get in after the car sits in the lot facing the sun. I'll get my windows tinted eventually, but I'm thinking of a windshield sun shade. Anyone have one? If so, brand/cost? I saw these on ebay but I'm not sure if they are POS or what:

I use one when my car sits in my driveway. I just bought a cheap one from Advance Auto. Works great, the sunvisors hold it in place at the top. It is a little big, has 1 fold right in the middle when in place to make it fit but is not noticeable at all. Works great. I use it on the weekends so I can take it out quick and go and not have to mess with the cover. During the week I rarely drive the car so I use a full car cover.

Sun shade. What is this thing "sun" you are worried about?

I live about 10 miles from Ravenna, Ohio. The US government put an arsenal in Ravenna, Ohio because it was the 2nd cloudiest location in the nation, (obscure satellite view).

I'm just crabby because my car is running well, but it's been raining so darn much, I haven't been able to drive it.

The sun is freeking intense here ( mostly because of the altitude), I have to take the glass top off no later than April.
I have a silver, C4 logo shade from CorvetteCentral, that's over 4 years old, looks new. It folds up into a 8 in. circle, fits behind the pass seat.
Very happy with it.

For regular daily use, I don't use a sun shade, although it does get toasty with the bronze panel roof. Having cloth seats helps out a whole lot.

But for longer term outdoor use, I have a Ferguson Designs all window/roof cover that the prior owner gave me with the car. While Andy is doing work on the vette, we've got the cover on it to protect the interior. It seems to work really well. I don't know if the company is still around (their website seems to be hacked?).

I use one of those that got behind the windshield on the inside.

Keeps the sun off the dash.

I use one in all of my cars. Living here in Las Vegas it's almost a requirement to use one. All of my windows tinted too. I find the sun shade and high quality window tint defintely helps protect the interior from the sun and keeps the temperature down. I also use a slip on removable cloth steering wheel cover. You haven't felt pain until you try to grab a steering wheel that's been exposed to 120 degree temperatures. I bought my fold up windshield sunshade from Zip. It works well and fits great. There's a new tint called Solar Gard Ultra Performance: Peformance Series. It's actually a clear tint that can even be applied to the windshield and works great while protecting the interior and dash from sun damage.

Oh, mine is a driver. I don't worry about a little rain. But a lot of rain isn't so good. Wide tires and wet roads aren't a good mix, not if you have other options.

It's all about car control. I have even driven mine in Florida thunderstorms and a hurricane or two.

I have a very nice 05 Camry XLE. Black with tan leather interior. While it's not very exciting, it is nice, and in the heavy rain has good manners.
So I figure why bother? When it's nice I drive the Vette. Just pissing and moaning about the weather more than anything. Hasn't been doing good things for our golf league either!

I didn't say we don't play... just saying it's not helping! If there's no lightning, we play.

I love my seats. I know at some point I'm gonna have to replace the fabric, but I'm sticking to cloth. I don't like leather or leather-like seats - too hot and sticky, or too cold.

I sweat all day driving my package car around in the heat. The sun shade does a great job keeping the leather seat from sticking to my back on the way home. I highly recommend one.

I like this one ! Mine is just a Wally world special. It actually had a felt trim, which over time deteriorated and caused a mess until I rubbed it all off.

Yea, the shades for my pickup fell apart too after 2 years. I have this one, looks new after 4 years, folds into a 8 in circle that slips behind the pass seat nicely.
