Good Morning CGs!

Had a busy day yesterday. I did get to work on the neighbor's van yesterday. I'll say one thing, if you think working on a vette sucks, work on a van with no hood clearance Anywho, spent about three hours on it and cleaned the throttle body and intake, cleaned the lower passages of the EGR valve. Fired it up and after letting it warm up and reset, seems to be running a lot better. Not sure it's 100%, but I think the EGR valve might have intermittent problems. I said he'll have to drive it for a while and find out. Also got in a killer workout, refilled the propane tank and BBQ'd, took the baby for a walk and then gave her a bath in the evening. What a day!

What did everyone else do? Planning on a lazy Sunday!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Changed oil in the pickup and the wife's car. Bought a new battery and installed it in the Vette. Went to a wedding and ate too much. Today not much planned, maybe a little detailing on the wife's car.

My old '74 Ford van wasn't too bad - most of the engine was in the passenger compartment, so you could sit in there and change plugs on a rainy day. Anything on the front of the engine was a bitch, though.

Yesterday I got the Jeep all ready to roll - oil change, new battery, new plugs, tires rotated, etc. And I edged the yard - takes a while as it is a corner lot, and produces a couple hundred pounds of yard waste. Always a treat. Today I need to knuckle down and get my stuff ready to pack.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend, everyone!

Went on a cruise yesterday (cannonball run style), from Waukesha (Milwaukee area) to
Madison. About 70 miles one way. My oldest son was my co-pilot, and my daughter and her BF with a Mustang Cobra also attended.

About 30 cars in the caravan. The funny part is, the dude leading the drive (along with 3 other cars- my daughter was one of them), missed the proper turnoff, and showed up 15 minutes later than the rest of the group.

Glad I knew where I was going.

I sold my 77 Chevy Van last year. I owned it from brand new to 350,000 miles. It looked like this when I sold it:

Good Morning Gurus!

Helped my daughter buy new tires for her car. Did some research on a motorcycle I am considering purchasing for a Cafe Racer project. Don't want to jinx it, so more details if it works out. I REALLY should not be spending that money right now, so I may have to stop myself...

Hoping to go jam out with a buddy today.

Great pix Mike!

Groovy van, Bill!

That brings back some memories, Bill! I bought my '74 Ford van back in '77 - it had been leased by Mister Donut - LOL! I converted the interior with plush red carpet, spiffy burled paneling, black captain's chairs, benches and table that folded down into a bed (ahhhhh, even better memories), a sink and fridge, and kick-ass sound system. I had the exterior painted metallic black Imron with a candy-apple red stripe all around, and fender flares for the wide tires. No engine mods other than the obligatory headers and side pipes. I kept it for 9 years and still miss it sometimes. Good times.

Sweet pics, Mike - looks like a fun day!

Yea, I loved that van. I didn't want to sell it but, I wasn't using it at all. I bought it brand new in 77 for $6300. It was bare inside. I had it 31 years (crap). Put in one crate motor, one trans and 2 paint jobs and that's all.
350,000 miles for 31 years for under $10k, not too shabby.

BTW, the pics are the ones I took for the sales add, at 350k.

Took out the Black Porsche first but it wouldn't cool down enough so we traded it for the 91 Vette. Even though it blows colder it was still hot. 93 degrees today. By the time the car cooled down we stopped to shop again. I looked at hundreds of bracelets today and we came home empty handed. Well, we didn't come back with what we went out for.
Our 25th Anniversary is Wednesday. We are looking for that special commemorative gift for her. The gift that keeps me out of the dog house. LOL.

Our 34th is next Sunday....we will be headed for the mountains early that day for the week in the high country.

This afternoon, some friends called and wanted us to go "tanking" (this is a past time of us rednecks), where you take a stock tank, put it in the river (Arkansas)and float down stream for an hour or two. We had three tanks and there were about 20 people. After we got out we had a cookout burgers, hotdogs, etc. Really enjoyable afternoon.
