To be honest with you, I didn't know there were cheap chinese knock off blocks, although I should have known. I would have avoided them like the plague even without that info!

I do not have a horse in this race and my block is a Dart Little M, so I have no worries...... but for a perspective from both sides of the Chinese block controversy(PBM block, who is also Erson Cams) Read the link below..... on page 4, PBM is showing the block content results, hardness test, etc..... apparently in the hardness test, it came out better than the Dart SHP block but not as good as the Dart Little M block.....

Interesting read....

Beach I havent looked at all the PBM stuff, some of what Ive seen looks good, other stuff doesnt.

Bummer is names we used to trust like Erson, Herbert, etc are being bought and used to peddle Chinese junk these days. Its not all the good stuff we'd expect that could be had back in the day .I saw a set of knock-off Isky roller lifters someone bought on Ebay, they supposedly were sold by Herbert. You can tell by looking at them it was the cheapest made thing ever and they broke almost immediately.
Ill have to find the link with pics so you can have a look see. Buyer beware

I agree!!! You have to be real careful if and where you use chinese parts on a quality high performance engine. My rule of thumb is the less the better!

The best decision is none!
