Nice wheels, almost bought a set
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/autoc ... -usa-out-of-business.html
DannyG;
Many of you may remember me as the Fikse wheel contact on this forum board and, as you may have noticed, I've not been around for quite some time. Well, that's because Fikse USA has unfortunately gone out of business as of September this year.

To those of you that own and utilize these wheels, don't let this make you feel as though you invested in a poor product - I can assure you this isn't the case. The reason for the company's downfall, from what I saw, was a lack of available investor capitol, down economy, and participation in Grand Am racing. That last reason may sound funny, but believe me, there is negative profit in building race wheels for professional race teams - I can't tell you how many wheel sets had to be given away to remain competitive with the likes of BBS. Think of it as you and a couple of your closest friends trying to create and manufacture a sports car that would compete against the Corvette in the world market... If you understand the economical priciple of increasing returns to scale, you know what I mean.

In any case, I also want to apologize for those of you that attempted to contact me via this forum board in the last 18 months or so. I was actually laid off by Fikse back in April of 2008 and, since I no longer had my C5 Z06, I had no reason to log back on to this board - So I'd like to extend my sincerest apologies to those of you that asked for my technical advice and did not receive a response. That being said, I just picked up another C5 Z06, hence the reason for my presence here... I'm back!!

So, if there are any questions regarding Fikse wheels, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to assist you. Although it's been a while, I was Fikse's Corvette fitment specialist, so I remember quite a bit. If repairs are need to your inner or outer rims, I may be able to point you in the right direction. However, if there is damage to your centers, that is unfortunately an unreconcilable problem.

Glad to be back!

Danny G.
Too bad - it was a good-looking option for the C4.

The rumor is they are looking at somebody to buy them out and take over. I have not seen or heard any bankruptcy proceedings through my daily emails from the Greater Seattle court system.

Too bad. Manufacturer with the best looking rims for the corvette, period. Pricey as all heck, but very nice.

Herein we have the answer to the Death of USA manufacturers.

Too much money required.

If Fikse wheels sold for a thousand a set with some Korean tires, we'd all have them. And Fikse would be rolling in dough.......

I wonder if this had anything do to with their demise...

What a disappointment. I just noticed my front polished FM5 had 2 cracked spokes. Anyone have any ideas?

Someone in China will buy the molds and sell them cheap that way you spend less to get defects.

American co.s go under becuase noone wants to pay for a nice product. Cheap seems to be the key word for everyone these days. This is what we get.

it's all about short term gain and no long term investment.

Question: how is the name pronounced? Ficks? Ficks-ee?

Rolling into a New Decade under New Ownership:
Kodiak Motorsports Inc. Acquires Fikse Brand.
Photo: Grand American Road Racing
(Abbotsford, BC) – January 8, 2010. Kodiak Motorsports Inc. announces the acquisition of Fikse assets. Kodiak Motorsports Inc. has been in the wheel business for over 10 years. No stranger to high performance, Kodiak supports countless professional race teams in both the US and
Canada with their race wheel needs. Fikse Wheels will be the perfect addition and the two brands will compliment each other perfectly. “I plan to deliver the same high quality wheels Fikse customers have enjoyed for years but with a new and refreshing business model.” says owner
Daryle Redlin, “It’s a great opportunity to continually
advance the state of the art – while also offering
industry-leading customer service and support.”
Fikse Wheels is targeted to launch into full production on March 1st 2010. The company will offer the
same timeless wheel styles as before but with many new fitments and styles coming online as well.
Be on the lookout for the very long awaited 19” and 20” modular and monobloc fitments from Fikse
Wheels. On a familiar note, Will Anthis will remain Sales Manager for Fikse Wheels. “I am excited to
have the opportunity to continue offering sales and service for a product I truly believe is the best
money can buy.” says Will.
Fikse Wheels manufactures modular and monobloc wheels for motorsport, aftermarket, and original
equipment customers. Visit www.fikse.com

This is good news for us and many Fikse wheel owners. Slam them on and go to the track!!! You can get a spare!
