Good Morning CGs!

Hopefully everyone is enjoying their weekend. Not much to enjoy here. Started raining lightly yesterday in the afternoon and doesn't seem to have let up. It's wet and drab outside. Not sure what the forecast is for later, but it's depressing. But hey, April showers bring May flowers, right?

Argues with my wife last night about stupid things. She is so inconsistent. Two days ago she yelled at me because the baby was walking down the stairs alone. Um, ok. So last night the baby was literally climbing up the back of the couch and almost flipping over, so I yelled at her to stop. Then my wife yelled at me, and said "that's what 2 year olds do". WTF??? :pain10: :binky:

So a two year old can't walk down the stairs but she can almost flip over the back of the couch? Yeah, I don't think so. I think my wife just wanted something to complain about. I dunno. I let 99% of things slide but damn that's getting on my nerves. Ugh.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Practice these phrases. Yes,dear and OK!.

Wife: Sometimes you can be such an idiot.

You: Yes dear.

Wife: Are you just going to sit there?

You: Yes dear.

Wife: How about parsnips and tripe for dinner tonight?

You : OK!

See how nonconfrontational this approach is? Works wonders. If you start going off on her just stop .... and calmly say ...... nevermind ........

Good Mornin' gurus

I made it back from the wild's of Georgia. I'm itching sooo bad and have red bumps up and down my arms and in my scalp from the "No SeeUms" and flying gnats that had us under siege almost daily. We shot five full days of tactical training video and still photos at FLETC in Glynco. I got to see most of the campus and many of the variety of "ranges" including some of the tactical driving courses and lots of miscellaneous training facilities. It is really pretty interesting stuff. These Agent Trainees really bust their asses during the training. We met up with about a half dozen of our own Agents that are instructors there and we ran hundreds of scenarios that will be included in an annual refresher training that our guys are required to take. All I know... If I ever hear the phrase "Stop... Police... Drop your weapon" I had better be in good graces with the Lord!

It's great to be back home so I can chill for a little bit in familiar surroundings. I tried to log in and check out the Guru while I was away, but just didn't have the time to fit it in I was so busy. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Have a great day.

Greetings! I got up fairly early for me on a Saturday - the thunder got me moving. We need some rain, I have plenty of indoor stuff to do and got the lawn mowed last night, so no biggie. Today is our 34th anniversary - I've been happily married for 10 years ;-)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

The first 30 years of marriage I used this:

I'm sorry!
It will never happen again!
And I'll pay for it.

Last 8 years I just take a couple of Lexapro and smile.

Afternoon guys, I just got the computer out...funny someone near the in-laws have wireless internet...unsecured. I have done absolutely nothing today. Sat and watched TV. It's been rainy and dreary all day. The Wife asked me if I wanted to play a card game with her folks and her...I said No. 35 years of marriage, I've learned not to stir the pot.

We are getting ready to go out to the wife's sisters place for supper. I guess I'll have to go outside.....

Usually how it works around here. I usually do the "ok, whatever you say honey" routine but sometimes I can only take so much.

If I never wanted to have kids I would probably never get married. Actually, marriage is a lot better without kids...because the focus is on your marriage. But once you have kids the focus shifts to the children first, house items, bills, school, neighborhood, a slew of other items, and marriage last. That's when it gets rough.

But if you had a daughter like mine, Jeff, you'd understand marriage.

My wife put marriage in perspective for my daughter when she was about 10. The 1st Gulf War was in progress and our daughter found an old Navy pic of my Team. Our daughter was asking the typical questions about mom, dad, and love etc. My wife explained the unshakeable bond between us. When marriage can get stressed with everyday life occurances she remembers the terrible loss she felt when she thought I was killed in the Vietnam Jungles. I had not written her for 7 weeks and my Team was deep in Cambodia. We were busy I always told her. Anyway, kids grow up graduate from college and finally its just you two again. What our daughter has never forgotten was that brief talk about mom's bond with her kindergarten sweetheart. Enjoy your family! there is so much bullsh** going on in this life your family should be your reality check. They growup quick!! To this day my wife still gets a tear in her eyes when she sees my scars. She has never asked what I did in Vietnam and I don't tell. Wow!! I didn't mean to get so serious!
