Paid next to nothing for it (couple of simple emissions fixes for CEL, and AC needs Freon).

It is actually a lot of fun...

SWEET!

I was a SHO guy loooong before I was a Corvette guy. I started racing in 1995 in a '92 5-speed SHO (see below, photo was taken at Ford HQ). Well, I started going to driving schools in a '92 5-speed SHO. But I called it racing, so it was cool...

I loved that car and had at least $10k in mods stuffed in over the years. I wonder what class it would race in now? Anyway, after 7 blown clutches I gave up and bought a 1994 Mustang Cobra. One of my few real regrets in life was trading in the SHO on a Jeep for $2700. I'd pay double that to have it back now.

Today my company car is a 2011 SHO. My, how things have changed; It's a joke. The thing makes so much noise with the flashes and dings and warnings that I get angry at it. It's fat, heavy, and costs...get this...$47,000. For that money I'd buy a 6 cylinder BMW 530 all day. Or a loaded 330i. Or ANYTHING else.

I will say this much - the drivetrain in this car is amazing. Smooth, powerful, quiet. Torque in the right spots, revs high and goes like stink. Too bad the rest of the car makes a mockery of a legacy. If they put this motor/trans in a Fusion and gave it a tight suspension and some brakes I guarantee the Germans would be scared to death of Ford. But it will never happen.

So that's what they mean by all the bells and whistles.

Congrats, SHO's are cool. I've never had the chance to drive one.

That being said, all the rest of those Taurus's can BURN in HELL, I had 6 different ones as company cars. Hated every one.

The above does not include SHO's.

A lot of people dont realize that the 96-99 SHO actually has a 240hp 3.4L V8. Gets good gas mileage too.. :-)

The downside of this particular car is that it is an Auto. I decided that because the price is right, plus a peach of an engine, I could live with it.

My boss has a SHO. Fun car, but he's had nothing but problems. Rust, transmission, suspension, electrical problems...

Is that the 24 valve version? Not bad for a grocery getter.

When I was getting Taurus's as company cars, I asked the fleet manager if I could get a SHO, said I'd pay the difference since they gave us the option of buying the cars at the end of the lease.

He said: "No, but you can choose any color you want." the prick.
