From what I saw I am a fan of house #1. I liked the rear deck patios and back yard fencing. It has nice offstreet parking and garage on the side of the house Being futher in it would have less street noise than house #2. I also think it has a better overall view than house #2. Although it looks a little less spacious than house #2 it has a more luxurious feel to it. Furniture and personal belongings gave the house a nice personality. House number two kind of left me cold. Not a big fan of the carpets, didn't like the kitchen but did like the size of the rooms overall. After seeing the master bath in #1 , #2 looked like it needed a visit from bath fitters. Views from the front and back doors didn't do much for me. These are just my personal opinions and not meant to offend. I would be happy to live in either one of them. I just like #1 more.

I'd have to agree with Tommy. Number 2 was not as impressive as #1. Although I could do without some of the bright colors in #1. Just not my taste. I didn't like the main entry in #2. First impressions of what you walk into can tell you a lot about what else in the house. Also, I have never been a fan of the Master BR upstairs. I hate stairs! Being in construction I saw a few things in #2 I didn't like. Crooked walls and your typical cut corners type of construction which can tell you a lot about who built it. All in all it was kind of bland. #1 is going to need a roof in a few years. It appeared to be a 20yr shingle about 1/2-3/4 way through it's life span. I liked the back yard in #1. I like my privacy and it had plenty. What happened in #1 on the left wall in the Garage? It's unfinished. I'd ask about that. The neighbor hood appeared to be a little more up scale in #1.

So between the two choices I'd have to choose number 1.

Oh yea, my main living area is on the second floor, 20 stair trips a day.

Anyway, I have to agree with Mike & Tommy. #1 has a nicer feel (to me). You can add bright colors yourself. I'm not fond of the entrance & stairs on #2.
And I like the extra parking on #1.

OF course, neither has enough garage space.

First house great street appeal. Brick adds to the charm and beauty of the house. Your eye wants to follow the elevation of the structure and roof line. Very nice! Did I write the word charm?

House #1 is my wifes favorite , and mine too. Garage space isnt all that great, but it will be for the Vette only, more than likely.
These two homes are in Goose Creek, in Crowfield.
My in laws live about 5 miles from them. Wife and kids are going there withing a week, and I will follow when I retire here within two years.

Allot of garages were unfinished in this area. I guess they were trying to keep costs down? My wife can do sheet rock etc, so it will get finished.

I liked #1 as well. One of the big features is the high ceiling in the garage...room enough for a lift.

I like your selection! The brick ones got too heavy for me after a while. I did like the 2nd houses landscaping, tho. Perhaps some of that look in this one will really perk it up!!

I guess your daughter is happy to be back with her friends? I can't imagine being that age and having ones world uprooted like that... could be brutal.

I grew up as a military brat, 3 grade schools, 3 high schools, and one college. It is hard to leave, and my sisters and I have dealt with it. Now they have great support groups, interaction programs and spouse family help etc. Networking is huge in the military.
My youngest was uprooted at 5, returned at 10. The oldest was the toughest, lets just say she is not happy with me and Mom, still.
But, I still keep in contact with friends from the 5th grade! Before myspace and facebook were invented.

My dad was retired USAAF, so I never had to move... but living in an AF town (Dover, DE), I had more than my share of friends get transferred out. That for me was hard.

I am not sure what to suggest for the oldest... I mean... if she is that unhappy, drop her off at the nearest convent! Let the nuns snap her into shape!

Shes doing okay, she is back in Charleston where she grew up, with the exception of the arduous life in Hawaii. Old Friends, family etc are with her. No excuse now.
