We picked a date for my wifes belated 50th B-day party and open house party date. Nov 19th. So I have a month to tweek things up around here. Whole lotta tweekin goin on. So BillH ... I was more fun when I had more time on my hands, huh? ... I tend to agree but it leaves you more time to work on the 67. Either that or you can find more NBFS. If I took back all the hours I've spent on forums or playing games on my computer my cars would all be concours ready but what fun is there in that.

Good morning Tommy et al.

I survived the morning commute again today. Safely at work! I have been driving the Vette all week, rain or shine while Kathie's Malibu is in the shop getting some paint touched up. Driving the Vette every day has highlighted a few things I need to address but overall it is doing pretty good.

Got to run. Chat later

Hidey-ho! Cold and gloomy again here today, but my back feels better than it has in a month. Not quite there yet, but definitely improving. I think my new snowblower should be delivered today - won't that be fun! :-P

Here's a little something for nap-time:

I did find 5 more "hidden" bumper brackets yesterday boring parts to work on.

Didn't go back to the casino for that beer yesterday, had a coke and contemplated today's schedule......I'm still clueless.

Morning guys...I'm checking in before I head to school. My terrible commute takes all of 3 minnutes.....sorry Don, I could pass that one by. Think I'll start my DNBFS tour today, but I don't think I can get away with it. Brad, I don't think it's much colder up there it was 33 just a couple minutes ago when I looked and the wind is going to blow too. Wind chills in the lower 20's today.

Got to head to school.

Thanks Brad I made it 3 minutes into the song and zzzzzzzzz
now I am so relaxed I feel like DNBFS all day.....everyday. Man that thing is powerfulzzzzzzzzzzz sorry keep dozing off.....

Happy 50th to your wife Tommy, my wife turned 50 this year and she wanted me to buy a C5 so that's what I did for her B-day........just kidding......she did not want a big deal just a quite dinner with some of our friends.

@Letty.....the BBQ spahgetti was a big hit last night with Ultraboy....two thumbs up....
and also with my new son UltraSIL. It was good but I had my doubts when I was making it. UBoy ate two huge plates of it. I still say Andy should set up a Guru Food Forum where we can share our favorite recpies. Around here we share cooking duties and I am always looking for new stuff to fix....like Bill's pizza. Someday I may even share my zucchinny suprise recpie.

More combine riding and selling today as I work my way down my client list. Hope you have a good hump day Guru's....Go Cardnals!

Pizza takes a bit more effort that Letty's Getty (which I want to make this week).

If you're serious about pizza, let me know, I;ll post a how to.
You do need: a kitchen scale that measures in grams, a pizza screen and a pizza stone.

Glad the sketty worked out great! I got a lot of self-invented recipes, love to cook - just no one here but me now so there's no point in it. Last night though I had some baby back ribs and a huge portabella mushroom with feta cheese and spinach in the broiler. Stuff like that sketty works good for me - it makes a lot and I can freeze individual servings for later. Made 'ravioli soup' couple days ago. it's not what it sounds like. Recipe later if anyone's interested....

I'll post it tonight, have it on the home computer. It's one of Mamma's recipes. After she passed in '09 I was selected to compose a cookbook to benefit the local hospice program and a couple of her recipes, including that one made it in there and was featured in the cooking section of the paper that week.

A few years back we had food discussions and recipe swaps. A Guru gotta eat. Maybe we can post them under Food for Thought or something like that.

Food For Thought: Ravioli Soup

Sounds worth eating especially as the cold winter winds sweep down from the north.

Yup
Get a one pound package of spaghetti and cook noodles. Get out a oblong cake pan, put in the noodles, at least one pound of pulled pork BBQ meat, and one 2-cup package of sharp cheddar cheese, half a jar of spaghetti sauce and half a bottle of BBQ sauce. Mix very well and put it in the oven till melted through, covered. Near the end, uncover and put more cheese on top and let that melt down.
Add some home made garlic bread and a cold beer and you're all set

Here's a snapshot of the cookbook page...
I really dont' think the amounts in the recipe ended up in there correctly but....
I end up using those larger cartons of broth and make a big pot full. (I think the original recipe was for the cans of broth and smaller packages of raviolis and green beans. Mamma made just a small amount.)

don't drain the tomatoes. And, I sometimes use two cans.
If you use sausage (way better taste) - I dont' use the 'roll' kind, get the pagkage that looks like ground beef but make sure it says Italian Sausage.
And, the green beans and raviolis - I've not found those larger packages here in a while.

This is one soup that really is best the day it's made. Some are better the next day after the flavors 'blend'... not this one.

For some good cheese bread to go with it:
Slided sundried tomato/olive bread (or whatever you can get)
package of shredded parmesan cheese
package of shreded swiss cheese
onion juice
salt
pepper
worchestershire sauce
mayonnaise (NOT miracle whip)

Mix the cheeses, a shake of some onion juice, and spoonfull or two of mayo in a bowl with a good shake of W-sauce. mix till it's a paste like consistency. salt and pepper to taste, put generously on the tomato/olive bread and bake.
Sounds strange but it will disappear quickly...

My lunch tastes rusty.

2 brackets and 2 bolts took over an hour. So, when you ask me "When are you gonna put that car together?".

That looks good Letty.

DNBFS
Changed from the painted top to the glass on on the C4.

Drove the C4 to California to cash in my $2 lottery ticket.

3 hours of C2 shop time.

Now for a nap and

since I had a Coke and contemplate yesterday, I'm going to the casino for an afternoon Pilsner.

Brad, I don't think it's much colder up there it was 33 just a couple minutes ago when I looked and the wind is going to blow too. Wind chills in the lower 20's today.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Suck it, Bill.

One of the worst weather days here in Chicago in a long time. The winds have been blowing pretty much steady at 40-50 miles per hour, with gusts to 60 mph. Grey skies and steady rain all day. Temps in the mid-40s. Waves on Lake Michigan were reaching 25 feet high. They actually had to close the lakeshore walking paths for safety.

The wife and I took the day off to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! Nice day to sit inside and snuggle in front of the TV. I actually DNBFS today!

Letty, I often use recipes as guides and change them to suit our taste. Meat substitutions, alternate vegetables and seasonings etc but stick to the core of the recipe. Gave me some good insights for alternate uses of regular food products. Good stuff. Thanks.

OK the weatherman was way off on his prediction. Sunny 65* and light breeze when I left school to go home. Glad we didn't get what they were predicting.
