Good moanin

Another month is just zipping by. Wifey is mot feeling too good today. She thinks it's a cold or flu. I'm starting off the day with a dentist appointment. After that I have a couple of hundred things I need to get done. We'll see which ones rise to the top of the list. The 90 Corvette has won the draw today. Time to stretch it's legs a little.

When I was down in the big city yesterday I stared feeling a little clostrophobic. Everything seemed smaller, busier and of course, fast paced. When sitting at a red light at a major intersection I said to my wife. Do you know that more cars go through this intersection in one light cycle than go down our street in a month? When I first moved to Homestead during off peak traffic, when a light changed, you were usually first in line. During peak traffic there were maybe 8 to 10 cars waiting for the light change with you. Today during peak it's close 60 cars just on your side of the light. The move worked out great. I'm back in a quiet part of the county. Back to a place that when you hit a stop sign or light you're usually first or second in line. Just keep an eye out for those farm tractors.

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy, hope the Mrs. feels better soon. Hope the dentist is kind to you

The rain over the past few days has pretty much melted away all of the snow. Still some big piles left here and there. I think we are expecting more snow this week, though.

I picked up my truck at the dealer last night. Everything seems to be running smoothly. New trans, timing chain(s), radiator, coolant flush, and even an oil change. That and the plugs that I paid for...the plugs cost more than the labor they charged me! $100 for spark plugs sounds crazy, but you only change them every 100,000 miles unlike the old days. So not bad if you look at it that way. I'm hoping no more hidden problems pop up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'm up and ready to go to school. Long day yesterday, but now have a plan for the summer.

Traffic has gotten that way here too, Tommy. It used to take me a minute and a half to drive across town to school, now it takes 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Thanks Marcus, the Dr told me the damage to my knee stems from an injury that I got my junior year in HS. It was a classic case of ACL not doing what it was supposed to do and allowing the joint itself to wear other parts. Kind of like running worn ball joints until they cause other damage.

Finally had a chance to catch up with the Gurus. Busy past two weeks.
Today cloudy, 30 degrees snow has melted in the last couple of days. Strange winter. We go in cycles, heavy snows blowing and drifting then sunny and the highs near 50. Tough on skiers.
Working the shop today, tearing out old cabinets and making new more efficient storage cabinets and shelves.

Crap. The property appraiser just stopped by. My plans didn't match theirs. They showed a Florida room where I now have a garage. She made the adjustments to her drawing. That means there'll be an adjustment on my property appraisal. Shouldn't be to bad though. Maybe it will work out in my favor but I doubt it. Lots of people convert their garage to a bedroom or office off the books. I opened the door and showed her the cars. (She was really cute)

Hi guys... Bad night last night. I was involved in a fender-bender with the Malibu on the way home from work yesterday. Not too bad but bad enough to ruin my day. Without saying it was my fault I will say that I should have looked a second time. Anyhow, I scraped the front left bumper and fender on the Malibu pretty bad. Tore up the left front wheel good too! I guess I just need to slow down and chill a bit more. Last month I hit a curb with the rear wheel and had to get a new tire. WTF.... I'm really disapointed as this is the first accident involving another car that I have had in over 25 or 30 years. Oh well... Now just taking care of the crap to get it repaird and fix the other guys car too!! I hope my insurance co. is good to me.

Sorry to hear about the car, Don. Just be happy it wasn't the vette!!!

I'm sitting here trying to fix my neighbor's hard drive. It's totally F'd and I think beyond salvageable...seagate sent them a replacement, but said you're on your own for data recovery. How nice of them!

What's it doing Matt? I've had luck taking HDD and putting them in a freezer for 30-45 minutes and then installing them into a computer and able to get data off.

+1, the freezer trick has worked for me a few times. I used a little USB gizmo to hook up the bum drive after I took it out of the freezer (in my case it had an IDE connector, but I'm sure they're available for either IDE or SATA).

I have the external HDD cables for pulling the drive separately, tried that. When warm it wouldn't spin or would start and stop. I put it in the freezer for about 15 mins. I got it to spin and recognize the drive, but it then says "drive not formatted, would you like to format now?" Also, Pandora recovery won't recognize the drive as being available for data. SeaTools won't run any diagnostics except a short scan and says drive is bad.

Soooooooo.....
