Yep! It's HCF. Hope somebody posts something. I'm up and heading out for a two hour drive south for a drop off in Marathon. Won't be back till mid afternoon. Then I have the night off. Wifey is spending the night there. She has a big sale with the Marathon Garden Club fund raiser. I'm sure she'll come back with something. She always does. It's a big flea market atmosphere with nice stuff going cheap. You never know what she'll find. In the end volunteers are just giving stuff away. It's all donated and they can't store it anywhere. More stuff than buyers.

How about $5.00?

One dollar?

Here .... Just take it.

Happy Friday, indeed! Glad it's here, been a long week. More of the winter that wasn't - several lakes in the area have shut down vehicle traffic, as the ice is unstable and some cars have gone through. That just doesn't happen in January here. Personally, I don't think I'd ever drive on the ice anyway.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Good Morning CGs!

Kids slept in late this morning which meant I got to, as well. Unfortunately that means we were in a rush to get #1 to school today. Like always....

I got the new dresser about half assembled yesterday. #1 wanted to "help" me, so that meant a screw that should have taken 4 seconds took about 45 seconds. She also likes to hammer the little wooden dowels into the holes. So assembly time is at least tripled. With her at school today I'll get it finished while #2 sleeps. Also hope to get a nice chest/tri workout in.

#2 is running around the living room playing by himself. He is a 100% different person when his sister isn't around. Much happier, more playful, more outgoing. It's interesting to watch when #1 isn't around to flex her "big sister" muscles....lol.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

If I am right, Matthew, it should be the annual Delaware International Photography Show and Contest (I never did know the full name). It always conflicted with Daytona or the Super Bowl, so I never made it up there.

These are a bunch of old school art photogs, who don't want to see anything more than birds in black and white... and when Ken brings race cars, OMG! He had one awesome shot of a pharmacists thing, antique in a museum, and they ripped that picture the SHREDS! They picked on lighting, back ground clutter, you name it, they found their perceived flaws. It was at that point I lost interest in participating.

Today... looks like its gonna be warm again. Santa Ana's are blowing in. Near 80... this is NOT our normal January. Normal? I would expect the highs in the mid-60s with lows in the low 40s. This weather pattern is really screwy.

I hope we catch up on some rain, soon.

I plan on doing some prep work on my Vette... cleaning and tidying under the hood in prep for the LTCC and DynaSpark coming back.

Beats the hell outa doing fiberglass.

I'm itchy.

And I found a small place where the glass didn't stick. All I have right now is finishing resin. Forgot to sand it before applying more glass. Finishing resin is what the stores sell, it has a waxy subatance in it that migtares to the surface and more glass won't stick right w/o sanding.

I was too lazy to order laminating resin.

So, maybe I'll work on engine parts for a while.

That's too bad. I hope no one takes it the wrong way, but this is why I hate "artsy" people...the pompous ones who think they are better than you because they took a picture of a soccer shoe's shadow...huh? I don't like abstract art. I don't like a lot of the "classics" that are supposed to be worth millions. I like what I like.

Those artsy people remind me of people who drive a prius...I don't like them either. Not because of the car itself, just the people who own them and make sure you know they own one.

Like Brad Paisley said "you see a priceless French painting, I see a drunk naked girl"....lol.

Not one to complain often, but waking up in the morning with a nasty head cold and two infected eyes really SUCKS!!!

And all the movies on cable are about shooting and killing.

Arrrggh! At least HCF helps to distract somewhat.....

I have some stuff to write but I ache too much to sit here and type. The Keys ride was nice on the way down. Started feeling sick again on the way back. Head pressure, sinuses draining, coughing , sore throat. Wonderful ........Looking forward to feeling well again. My wife is staying down there overnight. I see a pillow in my near future. First I have to feed the zoo. I have some left overs to oick through. That'll do because I don't feel like making anything for dinner.

I don't see why they say bull riding is cruelty to animals. Looks more to me that it's cruelty to humans.

Ya I've been to the rodeo. Several times.

I made it safely to Delaware ! It wasn't a bad drive, just long.

There are 2 reasons for the trip, first was to do a belated Christmas with the kids and grandkids. Second was the photo exhibit that Andy mentioned. It is known as the Wilmington International Exhibition of Photography. I come down every year to assist with the judging. I work in the photojournalism section. It is a long busy day but I get to see a lot of really great photos and talk with some really great photographers. Several years back I was chatting with the 3 judges in my section and lost track of how many Pulitzers they had between them.

The pharmacy picture that Andy mentioned is one of my favorites. The only place it will not score well is here in DE. Oh well.
