Greetings! We had temps in the 60's and 70's over the weekend - this morning it was a balmy 35 with a howling wind and snowflakes pelting the windshield. Lovely. At least we didn't get the real severe stuff that hit all over the midwest.

A little news from Tommy's neck of the woods:

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2012/04/09/ ... t-left-students-stranded/

Have a good day, all!

My wife had a booth at the Tropicol Park Horse and and Cattle Auction. This was not your average auction. It has an amusement park feel with rides, enetrtainment and about 30,000 people. Wifey said to me.... " You should see these animals. They're beautiful and they're going so cheap. Some of them for as low as 3 or 4 hunndred dollars". I said to her they could give you the horse and throw in $500 and it still wouldn't be cheap. "No horse." "How about a miniature?" "No horse!" The test never ends. No never means No when you're dealing with a woman. Except of course if you're a woman. Then No means No.

So after a crummy weather weekend we now have a beautiful sunny day.......I'm with you Tommy, I love horses but they will eat you out of house and home then there is the vet bills and the blacksmith bill for shoeing them plus the luxo trailer and 4X4 to haul them around in.....I too have had to say no on several occasions......If this were a working ranch then sure.....but we don't need big pets.

Lots of rain here over the weekend but no tornados or hail so we feel good about that. Planting will be stopped until it dries out.

Here is something I saw that interested me......have a good week Guru's!

The School wont help students? I'm sure the kids told their parents that the meet was for school, so how would the parents know? Legally the School probably has 1 leg to stand on because it wasnt sanctioned, but morally? And they find out their staff member has warrants? They will be facing a lot more trouble than just refusing to lend a hand finding the kids a 4 hour ride. I think that I probably would have rented a van and picked them up myself if I were the school's Athletic director. Proves to me that he's in it for a paycheck......not his student's overall safety.
My 2 cents

My daughter watches a Disney sitcom. Called Good luck, Charlie.........Think we need to change that Juuuust a little: "GOOD LUCK, TOMMY" hahaha..it never end does it Tommy?

Good day gang. Off to Moms for the Oil heater tank transplant.
Later,
Alan

Hope that goes well Alan.....its strange that we don't use that type of heating systems out here....and never have as far as I know. We do use propane which is what we are set up for, which is liquid under pressure and turns to a gas when it hits the air. That and natural gas along with electric heating is what we use out here. Ohh and buffalo chips and cow chips in the wood stove of course.....

Hmmm, seems I have a free day on my hands. They just rescheduled the Re'tank for Tuesday. The tank wasnt delivered to the contractor yet.

A good thing I guess. I ran into the Scotts Lawn Guy that does all of the surrounding yards. For about as much as it costs me a year plus the aggravation of application, they'll do it for me. Mine is the lousiest lawn on the cul-de-sac so its time to surrender and just let the pros do it.
I only have a half an acre thats actually mine. The rest outback belongs to the water company who owns the lakes and I get the lakeview for the price of chasing the occasional teenage beer party, which is rare, the neibhors usually beat me to it. I wouldnt even care, but they leave the beer bottles everywhere and potato chip bags blowing all over the place. I was young once too. They could have their fun if they'd just clean up. At least it keeps them from drinking/smoking and driving.

Soooooooooooooooooo, when's the guy with the horse trailer and your new pet show up Tommy ?????????????????????

Pull the car's out, that new carport's perfect for a horse stall.

Next Monday you can start the Monday HS Session.

You're gonna need a bigger shovel.

What the hell's a Tropical Park Horse anyway?

At least you'll have someone to play with.

Morning guys...It's been a busy morning already. Horses? Doesn't everyone have them??? Like Marcus said, if it's a working ranch, then by all means, you need a horse. If not they are just a liability. Out here in our part of the country horses are almost like dogs, but most of them are working horses.

I guess I'd have to agree with the AD in that other story. It truly is not a school issue. The "coach" was acting on his own, going to a non-sanctioned event. I wonder how the heck he got the car rented, don't they check the license of the renter? In Kansas, those students who participate in non-sanctioned events might be disqualified from all sanctioned events in that sport, maybe things are different in Florida.

I just figured my hours for my Prom decorating and sponsoring last week.......23 1/4. A few extra bucks in the paycheck this month.

Got to go.

Good Morning CGs!

Been running around this morning getting the bags packed up for an overnight trip and cleaning up the house. Gonna take the kids to the indoor water park for a little getaway. Should be fun.

Other than that it's pretty windy here with some weird weather. Still waiting for the nice warm stuff

Hope everyone has a great day!

Really Tom? A Non-sanctioned event could be trials for the olympics. That could DQ a kid from high school sports? One way or another, the AD is still in it up to his neck. Guilt by association alla Penn State, of course for something different, but, its still his staff. Rogue or not. So, why not lend a hand in an emergency situation to at least show concern? The school Board will be asking for his keys soon anyhow, so i guess its a moot point. Sorry, I just put myself in the parent's shoes.

Very nice Bill! I'll give you an A-...at least you got it done in a reasonable amount of time.

Alan, I believe that Olympic trials would be a sanctioned event...you just have to be good enough to get an invite. I'm not saying the AD did the right thing, just saying he wasn't necessarily have to do anything. You're right that coach is done....stick a fork in him.
