Good Morning CGs!

Happy Independence Day!

Watched the fireworks last night with RR#1 and the boy across the street. Nice little show they put together. She wasn't as scared this year as last. RR#2 slept through the whole thing as it was pretty late.

Tinkered with the a/c last night. Still not working, but making progress.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy 4th everyone.....we gotta work anyway but this evening steak and corn on the cob and some fireworks I'm sure...

Well I see they found Higgs Boson.....the God Particle...sooooo.....what does that mean really...I read the report and still can't figure it out.....I will just have to wait until they explain it to Penny on the Big Bang Theory....

The heat continues and its starting to get old....no relief in sight far as I know. Corn's loving it...

Gotta go so I can get in early.......have a safe 4th Guru's....

Morning guys...I've been at it for a couple hours already. Packing up, filling the cars with gas, etc. Wife, #1 and 2 daughters, hubby and two kids doing the fun run. The parade is about an hour away. After the parade we headed for home. going to be hot again today.

Well, I got to pack up this computer, I'll check in once I get home this evening.

It's easy to figure. Stare at a section of this picture. If all you can see is Sheldon's tighty whitey's.....your particle's boson.

I Know its a Happy day and I hate being a pessimist some times. As I watched the swearing in of the aliens as new American citizens, I couldn't keep myself from thinking did they become tax paying citizens, or, just become eligible for Medicade....oh no, thats right, They've been getting it all along and not paying taxes for the past 7 years while their businesses flourished.....GRRRRRRRR

Howdy! I hardly slept until 6:30 - my wife is sicker than a dog and was tossing and turning, then it rained pretty good at some point. Finally got comatose for a bit. It's gonna be another couple of steamy days - at least 100 today and tomorrow. I'm bringing a bucket of frozen margaritas over to a friends later - I'd better drive fast ;-)

Hope you get that A/C sorted out soon, Matt!

Have a great 4th, Gurus!

Good afternoon, all.

The wife and I ran a local 5k this morning. Our times were not spectacular, but were better than expected in the heat and humidity.

Have a glorious fourth!

Bought a 4 burner gas grill with a side burner for the nursery. Marked down from $349 to $199 and a free gas bottle exchange. That's worth another $20. A couple of light switches to repair a couple of lamps, some solar spot lights for the front yard, and some M1 deck and roof cleaner. Whoo-Hoo! I'm gonna jump up on the roof and spray it down with the cleaning solution. Let it sit 15 minutes and hose it off. Comments claim it will make the asphalt shingles look like new. I'm not gonna do it today though. Maybe tomorrow. I'm planning on taking the rest of the day off. (I said planning). I never know when I'll hear my name off in the distance. It ain't no bird calling me either.

I read about that a couple of months back. I'm always reading about these tremendous discoveries, like the isolation of anti-matter or energy released from atom smashing in particle accelerators. Also discoveries in the treatment of some types of cancer All I know is none of it affected the price of bread or gasoline. These guys from Serbia seemed pretty excited though.

We used to do bottle rocket warfare in college, 100 feet separation, shoot them out of your hand at each other.

And if you hold one in your hand, out the car window @ 60, it will stay beside the window for a bit until it flys up over the car you're chasing.....then detonates.

Do you remember silver salutes down the toilets in high school......whoom...every pipe in the school would vibrate and a cheer would go up from the students.....

We used to go water skiing and when the girls were skiing drop an M80 over the side of the boat and have it go off like a depth charge when they were right over it.....hahahahah...now that was fun....

I had a little excitement - I went over to a friend's house solo, since the Mrs. wasn't feeling well. Spent the afternoon outside in their pool, etc. My friend grilled some burgers, and as I was finishing up dinner, I felt kinda weird. I went to pick up my plate to come inside, and the next thing I knew, paramedics were checking my blood pressure, doing an EKG, etc. I must've fainted from dehydration. Anyway, the day was cut short, but I'm fine and at home. Drink lots of water, Gurus!

Dayum Brad. This voodoo stuff I'm practicing must work ..... Seriously. Hope you recover quickly. I'm out in the heat almost daily and I make sure I keep hydrated. I felt bad for a whole day once from dehydration. Never again. I hate that feeling.

Well, we made it home. Stopped about 1/2 way across the state to see a new nephew, born yesterday, then on home. It was 102- 106 most of the way home. Since we got home the temps have dropped below 100. I'm staying home tonight, not going out in the heat to watch fireworks.....I can hear them going off outside anyway.

Brad, I hope both you and the mrs. get to feeling better. Heat can do nasty things to you.

Thanks, guys - I'm much better now after a bunch of water and some Gatorade. My blood pressure was 90/60 when they first took it. I'm almost back to normal now, er, however close to normal I usually am ;-)
