November ... The wheel in the sky keeps on turnin.

I have a delivery in Miami first thing in the morning. Yesterday I managed to weed, clean and trim the material in the 1/4 acre nursery in the back of the house. later I managed to get in the dog house because my wife broke the cleaning assembly of the the vacuum cleaner. So typical. She breaks something and I'm the asshole. After putting 10 hours out back all I wanted to do was sit and watch TV. The energizer bunny decides she wants to vacuum the house. She was pulling a string out of the power head and dropped it. Broke it at the neck. Nice ..... Real nice.

Good morning fellow travelers....weather is perfect out here and we are trying to get a lot done outside while it lasts. Got a big steak feed for the football team later today....had a good meeting with a new supplier yesterday and I am hoping that gives us an edge on pricing.

As usual in an attempt to bring you information that is vital to your lives and that will help you live longer and be more reproductive......I give you this.

Dr. Willard Harley....what a great name....after 20 years of marrage counseling has come up with the following....

The Five Major Needs Of Women
1. Affection
2. Conversation
3. Honesty and openness
4. Financial support
5. Family commitment

The Five Major Needs of Men
1. Sexual fulfillment
2. Recreational companionship
3. An attractive spouse
4. Domestic support
5. Admiration

Sooooo where do you stack up in providing these things to your wife or girlfriend or they to you......just asking.....

Now back to our regular innane bantor and fun chatter...

Have a great day Guru's.....Dr. Marcus is out.....

Good Morning Gurus. Been out of the country for the last four months. Flying into Ohara Sunday was a little rockie with hurricane Sandy reving up in the Atlantic. Hope this is my last time out of the country venture. Getting too old for this crap. Need to get some quality vette time in before the snow flies. Still recovering from jet lag! Have a great day guys.

Hi Marcus. Hum.... wasn't a vacation, in a mountainous region, did some teaching(training), grew a beard, lost 17 pounds, humvees were the vehicle of choice, grew to love kevlar and ceramic plates and finally reinforced my love for the US. Should have never retired from teaching last year

Good Morning CGs!

I couldn't figure out why it was so cold in the house last night. When I woke up I found out the wife had shut off the heat during trick or treating hours and never turned it back on. So it was about 65* when I got up. No big deal, I like it cool, it helps me sleep. It was just unusual.

It's about 35* outside right now. I have a few tasks to take care of today. Big one is getting the grass cut for the end of the season. I'm currently on the phone with my a-hole mortgage company trying to straighten out a disbursement mistake they made....grrrr. Clean the house and work on the car is also on the list.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Well once again Friday Eve is upon us. Shaping up to be a busy weekend for me. I am considering heading up to Michigan tomorrow for a big snowmobile show. After a few hours sleep, it will be up early on Saturday so I can be in PA and flipping pancakes by 6:30 a.m. won't be done until 7 or 8 in the evening. We will feed somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 people. Long hard day but fun and rewarding.

Weatherwise, it hasn't stopped raining here yet but the drops are getting smaller.

Good morning guys....We are testing today. I have a room full of students and it is very quiet while they take their tests.

Welcome back Ron, glad to see you back safe and sound. Going to be a long morning, I have a feeling. This afternoon starts our P-T conferences, going from 1pm to 8pm. going to be a long afternoon-evening too.

Matt, not to rub it in but, I only have 5 months to pay on my house and then I'm going to have a mortgage burning party. Then if I don't get the taxes paid, or the insurance paid it's my fault.

Got to go check on the kids.

These are exactly the reasons my wife fails to understand. She wants her wants and I want mine.

Affection. Grade D My chain from the dog house doesn't reach that far.

Conversation. Grade B ( What I hear isn't what she is saying.)

Honesty and openness. Grade A+ I'm too honest and too open for my own daymed good.

Financial support. Grade A What's mine is hers and what's hers is hers.

Family commitment. True. I think both her and my family should all be committed.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with the mortgage company getting bounced around....no resolution. All over $160. But it's the principle (no pun intended). I think the sun is out so it's time to do some yardwork.

About done testing, the kids were really good. I gave them a chance for a break, most just stood up and stretched and were ready to move on.

I know exactly what you mean Ron. As always, the ones who need to come don't and the ones who don't need to come always do. I'm at the point where many of my students are kids of people I had 15-20 years ago. They know me, my idiosyncrasies and my demeanor. Don't like it, tough, that's the way I am and I "ain't changing".

Got some yard work done this morning. Grass cut, all the lawn furniture put away, shed reorganized to hold all the chairs, etc. I need to go to HF and pick up an extra tarp or two along with some rope to cover up the kids big toys and the glass patio table.

I got a chance to play with the Vette today, so that's always a happy time. Check the thread in C4 tech.

Well, I have tomorrow off. It was a long day. I had only about 20% of the parents show up. When my daughter came she asked metro visit the teachers with her. Found out the GS is doing just enough to get by. So when I got home I had a " talk" with him. Ok, I did all the talking and he listened. I was quite upset with him and let him know. I'm afraid that I had him tears, basically, made him feel bad for not making an honest effort. That's what we've always told him that we expect. That's when he started tearing up, when I asked him if that was the best he could do. A shake of his head and the tears started coming. He has been working on all his work that he is behind, since then. We've had heart to heart talks before but this is the first time he has reacted like this, I think maybe we made some good headway. I hope so...He's not a bad kid, just tends to be "unmotivated".

Keep working with him TB....there are a lot of distractions these days for kids.....Uboy tends to drift to neutral if we don't keep applying the pressure.....hell I do that if I'm not careful....

Its hard do decide when to let them be kids and when to push them but good grades are something we insist they do thier best on....
