Food for thought .......

According to my calculations, the Earth has only another 3,679,453,928 years before an inevidable end. +/- 10% for mathematical error.

Good Morning CGs!

Another cooooooold day here. Yesterday was brutal with the wind chill. The son is deceiving as it comes up...such a nice view and you'd think it would warm things up. Nope.

I have the details for the trans rebuild kit ironed out with Dana, I just have to send payment once he lets me know what method. He will then put it together, he assembles all of the kits to order. I highly recommend him for his customer service and knowledge if you are in the market for trans parts/rebuild services. If I were in California I'd have him build the whole thing.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Back still aches and allergies have me hacking away in the AM. Now it's starting to get agravating. How will that impact everything? Well, now I'll be pissed off while I'm aching and hacking. I spent almost 7 years going to a back cruncher. I'm through with them. The only thing I need to do is turn the right way and free up the nerve. Then life will return to normal where I'll be just another plain old pissed off, aching, hacking human again.

Morning guys....no school for today. Mother nature has put down a layer of ice and snow on top of it. Not a lot right now, but things are apt to get worse through the day.

I'm going to school anyway and work on some cabinets that I have there. Give me a chance to make some headway.

I've known that most "reality" shows truly aren't reality. Maybe based on reality, but totally enhanced for entertainment value. One of my favorites is "Graveyard Cars". Mark Worman comes off as a real A-hole, but he's a member of a Mopar forum that I belong to, and has said, it's all staged. That when he pitched the show to producers, they wouldn't put it on without the sensationalism added to it. He felt that getting the show on the air was important, so he agreed and throughout the first season, let them do what ever. But cries from the people who watch it has allowed them more actual time working on the cars rather than the entertainment value. I look past the crap to see the good parts. But the result this year has been more commercialism. Every show now has some commercial for a product that he has "bought" to use in the shop, or parts that he has purchased to use on the cars he is rebuilding. Again, I look past the commercial to get the good stuff.

Gueden Muorgn.

Hidey-ho! It didn't get quite as cold overnight, but wind chills today will be -10 to -25, so a light jacket is prudent.

It is always important to have a good blade on hand:

Morning gents and Letty....the only reality show I ever watched was Orange Co. Choppers with Paul Sr. and the crew but even that got old after awhile. I loved the bikes they would build but it was all the yelling and pissing and moaning that I got weary of. I tried a couple of the car shows but they were really bad at the infighting so said hell with it. Never have watched any other type of reality show...hate them I do.

7 degrees here with -10 wind chill as the storm is stalking us and will soon be among us. We have armed ourselves with essentials like Red Box movies and lots of snacks which were going fast yesterday at the stores. My machines of war stand ready for when they are called into battle......filled with fresh fuel and moved into position.......and so we wait....

I have been following the Blade Gunner story and I am to the point of wishing someone would shoot him....geez....who shoots someone when they are sitting on the toilet....now that guy is certifiable in my book.....

Ok gotta go make my yummy porrage so I can break my fast.
Stay warm North bound Guru's...

I watch the pawn shows, storage wars, pickers and hoarders. It's entertainment. Sometimes I try to guess the value of an item an see what it comes in at. We go to auctions and buy more $#!+ When we go to sell it all I will guarandamtee you we'll get at least half of what we spent on it back.

Good morning to you, too!

Cloudy and cold here today, rain tomorrow. Started off like any other. Had keys in my hand, laid them down. Still haven't found them. Used spare set to get to work. I'm guessing they might be in the fridge where I retrieved my lunch I brought for work today. It's a blonde thing I guess. Also noticed while searching for lunch to bring for today I'm missing some things I paid for at the store. Apparently left a bag on the carousel thing the other day. Figures. Reality show? I hate 'em. I got my own right here! Hoarders I watch. That one makes me feel like my own house isn't such a mess so bad.

Well I'm trying to work out the kinks in the old back. Washed the 87 911 and cleaned up the interior. Now I'll tackle the 91 vert. One step at a time. That way they'll at least look pretty the next time I'm ready to ride. Took the 83 out last evening for a 20 mile ride. If you don't drive them you get a little rusty. The cars aren't too happy about it either.

A guy I worked with that just got out of the joint told me this story. This other prisoner was unafiliated. A black guy walked over to him and told him to suck his dick. The inmate politely refused. The black guy beat him bloody then made hime suck his dick along with 17 other guys that lined up behind him. Prison is not for the weak at heart. Remember this if you ever go. Clique up .... and quick.

Try a shop vac.

I never had problems with mice but in the past but roof rats liked to visit the engine bays. Years ago I brought an Olds 88 that we owned to Jiffy Lube for a quick oil change. When I opened the hood, hundreds of palm seeds rolled out from under the hood insulation all over the shop. They told me to bring it back after I cleaned out the rats stash. What a friggin mess.

Yea, shopvac with respirator.

This is "cleaned up".............and the next section under the pedals.

I do know that a 1500 watt geat gun will start 45 year old glue on fire.

uhmmmm... WD40 and/or Easy Off Oven Cleaner?

I actually keep Easy Off in the shop.

The floorpans are fiberglass so, I don't want to use something that caustic on them.

WD, Goof and a bunch of others do not touch thid stuff.
I think it's cause the glue is so old.

Razor blade, paint scraper, heat gun do work.

And it doesn't have to be pretty, the carpet pad gets glued to it.

Would the 3M adhesive remover put a dent in that stuff?

possibily but the glue it's designed to soften (weatherstrip) is way different from this stuff.

I ran out of that in the shop and just haven't gotten around to getting some more.

The scrapping does pretty well since I don't need "pretty".
