Plenty of problems arising the last few days to keep me busy. Yesterday afternoon our tenants called and said the A/C was leaking at the house. Lovely ..... I cleaned everything up as best I could and checked for the problem. I think I have to have the coils cleaned or replace the air handler (it's aged). Had the coils cleaned 4 years ago but I see some brown goo bilding up. Cheap fix is around $500. Expensive fix, around $1500. These tenents are great though. Pay on time, keep the place nice and never complain. They fix the little things themselves.
Years ago the guys at The Room told me to listen to what I'm complaining about. They told me what I'm bitchin about are problems of luxury. Fact is .... They're right. I think I have complaining hardwired into my DNA.

I spent yesterday rearranging the shop.....again. I was really tired of moving stuff to work on the C2. I had to move the C4, the snowblower, the engine hoist, the glass bead cabinet, the 327, the Ford engine on a stand and the wire wheel stand just to get to one side of the car.

Had to pull everything out of the shop and take everything off the shelves. Had to move some metal shelves and adjust the shelf heights so an engine would fit under them.
Got the bead blaster up against the wall and tried to find a spot for the acetylene torch.

I'd rather be doing plumbing.

But I did find my Burma Shave sign (a real one).

Good Morning CGs!

Still here in the state shaped like a mitten. I got the 79 started last night. Battery was completely dead. But once that was charged it fired up with a little coaxing. Brakes are a little spongy and tires are rock hard but I took it for a ride around the block and it's driving fine. We are going to clean it up today and cover it. It needed to be moved out of the garage to make way for the upcoming kitchen remodel.

Might do a few other little projects today and then my aunt/uncle are having a bbq a few minutes down the road. It will be nice to see everyone.

I posted pics of the new car in the other section. Wife is mad, she didn't want a car payment. I haven't had a payment on my personal car since May, 2008. Oh well, it was time. The choice was start dumping $2,000 maintenance money in my truck (106k) for tires, shocks, fluids, etc, or look for something newer. Something newer won. Still a reasonable payment after my trade in, etc. Got 1.9% financing since it's a CPO. Can't beat that. And like my truck I will keep this 6 years or more so I will get my money's worth.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning y'all. I'm sore today, spent last two days spring cleaning starting at Don's shop then my groceries then came home started yard work of leaf burning and limb trimming and lawn mowing. Yesterday I spent four hours in the house cleaning, then outside to do the deck, patio, front porch and patio, got pool pump going and washed the Vette then washed me. Somewhere in all that I managed to go to the sunbed and the nail salon and got myself some bright orange toenails for my upcoming bday. Went to the libation station for some coolers, beer and patron for this weekend as well as potential company along with same said bday I won't get paid till a week after so its taken care if now. Met Bearcat (as he's logged in here) and his wife and daughter rom New Mexico for dinner last night and due for brunch with them today. Rest of day might involve fishing and other DNBFS

Morning guys...I slept like a baby. Church is next this morning, normally I'm a Saturday night mass guy, but if you read my post from last night, you know why I didn't go last night.

Not much else going on. Matt that's a nice looking vehicle. So, that's. your driver or your wife's? There comes a time when you just have to bite the big one. Tommy, we complain because we can. Makes us feel better I guess. Bill, you need a bigger shop.

Congrats on the truck Matt.....better you than me....

Had a good time yesterday as we went in and took in the Hot Rod National car meet in Lincoln yesterday. We went to the car show and saw some wild rides. The Rat Rod section is getting crazier every year....some real funny stuff being displayed.....I don't particulary like the whole rat rod thing but enjoy the imagination some of these cars have behind them.

Went to Church and after that we hit O Street for cruise night and it was huge. Thousands of folks lined the route and thousands it seemed cars were cruising from 84 street down to 16th then turning around and going back. 2 lanes each way with lots of burn outs and plenty of police making sure it didn't get too crazy. Got a lot of thumbs up with the sparkling GS as Uwoman and I cruised the strip talking to folks along side us at the stoplights. Weather was perfect at 79 degrees, best night we have had all spring.

GS was running warm....217 with no air and would go up to 223 if I kicked the air on as we moved from stoplight to stoplight.

Someone had a bright pink Chrysler Imp from late 50's...the one with the taillights mounted up high on the fins...with some nice Dubs on it and custom interior....they had the kids in back in car seats and they were having a ball....no pics sorry...

Lots of jacked up pickups....I hate jacked up pickups....quite a few Corvettes of all gens.....

Got home about 11:30....I had turned the nannies off so I could spin them if I wanted but forgot about the nanny in the other seat...did let out a sqeaker or two but pretty well behaved all night.....

Have a good rest of the weekend Guru's.....

Howdy! I did a better job of sleeping in today, more what you would expect of a champion. We'll be visiting the cemeteries today where my folks and my FIL are buried - looks like we'll be dodging raindrops.

Congrats, Matt, and sounds like you had quite a whirlwind day, Letty!

Have a good one, Gurus!

There is another approach to improving your game. It's playing the game more frequently. If you play often enough you could eventually dump your clubs and use a pool cue (or a hockey stick) instead.
