Good morning gang.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun holliday weekend.

We had rain of course and some sunshine. We lucked out and had good weather for the fireworks show on Saterday.

I saw that Joey Chestnut set a new record and ate 69 dogs in 10 min. at the Nathan's hot dog eating contest this yr.

What a miracle that there were only 2 deaths at the plane crash in San Fransisco. Mojo to those hurt and prayers to all.

Word of the Day Monday, July 08, 2013

edacity\ ih-DAS-i-tee \, noun;

1. the state of being edacious; voraciousness; appetite.

Origin:

Edacity comes from the Latin root edāci- which meant "gluttonous."

Good morning fellow gurus.
The sun is shining and looks and feels pretty nice outside, for now. I'm strugling to get my wits about me this morning. My second cup o'joe should bring me around. At least I hope it brings me around.
Yesterday I tore into our old A/C unit to salvage the metal. Let's see how much pocket change it will bring from the local recycler. My wife wanted to keep the unit. She said she would break it down. After a couple of months it was still sitting where the installer left it. She recently brought home some begonias and placed them in the shade of the carport. Guess who had to relocaate them. She's great at bringing stuff home and leaving it for me to deal with. Some stuff I just let sit for a long, long time. Her thinking, my husband's retired. He can do it. Well, a day full of stuff to do ahead. Better get crackin.

Back to the grindstone after 10 days "off". The alarm clock was a most unwelcome sound.

So, Julian, the guy with the racecar was over last nite.

Interesting conversation, he said he was working in his garage, I said "On what?"
he said "On the Ford GT40", I sais "The blue one?"

No, he's working on his other one.

And we were talking about his Pantera, He said "Actually I have 2 Panteras."

Why didn't he buy 2 Formula Atlantics? I need to drive something fast on the track too.

Morning guys.....Today is where I get to do electrical work and sheetrock (I hope). Yesterday I got all the framing accomplished, set in the new sub-floor, set the tub, did all the plumbing (did I ever mention that I HATE f*@king plumbing?).

Here's what we started with.

You're right Bill, that looks like a cat. Tommy you sure that's not some Chinese cooking class picture?

Two GT40's and two Panteras? Bill, this guy is too much.

The floor area between the tub and the vanity is where the damage was. Felt like you were going to fall through the floor when you were washing your hands or when you got out of the tub. NO such feeling now.

Good Morning CGs!

Enjoyed our day at the beach yesterday with the kids and a group of our friends. I'm beat now from all the fun in the sun. Having Sunday off was nice....now it's back to the grind.

Tb - any reason you went copper to pvc? Just not common around here so I've never seen it before.

Hope everyone has a great day!

This is my last day of freedom before heading back to work tomorrow! Tommy... You makin' me want to go buy another sailboat. That boat in the video is so similar to my old one it makes me sick.

I'm cleaning the garage up a little bit today and going through some old stuff I don't need anymore.

Any interest in buying (i.e. deep discount) a used Derale transmission pan for a 4L60E? I used it on my transmission for about 6 months, but after installing the Koni shocks and sway bars it must have dropped the car maybe a half inch and that was enough to cause a couple problems. It had enough clearance for normal driving conditions but it prevented me from using some of the lifts at Sport Chevrolet.

Center Post lifts with four arms would just hang up on the bottom drain plug. Ask me how I know!!!

Anyhow, it does have a couple dings in the leading edge and the drain plug is now canted just a pinch, from when I discovered the plug was too low to clear the lift center section. With that said, the pan was not leaking before I removed it. IF there is any interest you can PM me for a couple photos.

Well... I better get back to what I was doing. Chat later.

Morning all, hope all are having a good one.
Wife and I spent Sunday in Monterey. Lunch on the pier was great. 45 minute drove over dang 2 1/2 hour drive back.
Only one little concern on her car, temp got way up in the stop and go 5 mile an hour traffic. All in all it was fun to drive the '96 over to the coast.
NOW, if my dang RIMS show up today it will be a good day...

Yea, what temp.

This is fairly normal.

Not sure on a 96 but it would be close to any LT1/4 from 92 - 96.

The fan(s) are controlled by the ECM, the primary comes on around 228 degrees and the secondary at 235 (varies slight depending on the year).

You can cause your fan to come on in traffic by turning on the a/c.

You'll also see the temps rise going up a mountain back road behind traffic @ 40 mph.

When you get back up to 50 mph of so the temps should start dropping within less than a mile.

Here kitty, kitty. Nice kitty......now where's my barbque sauce?

Any bbq'd or otherwise dead cat is a good one....
I'll pay a good fair dollar to someone to round up the skanky strays here around my house and do with them as you please
I left the top down on the Vert the other night, put it up at 10pm, somewhere between 7 and 10 one got in there and wallered it all to hell and back, both seats, both floorboards, the back trunk area, clawed one of the tub covers a little, nasty ass hair EVERYWHERE... cat feet prints EVERYWHERE... the heiffer across the street feeds them, says they're her pets. Fine - she can pay my cleaning bill for her pets' damages..... I'll shovel the next pile of cat skat onto her driveway I find in my yard.....
