Good morning gang.

Not much going on today but work. I need to help the wife move things around after work today. The spare bedroom is a little cluttered and needs to be cleaned up.

I'm a bit late but Happy Aniversery Tommy.

Word of the Day Tuesday, August 06, 2013

eyetooth\ AHY-tooth \, noun;

1. Dentistry. a canine tooth of the upper jaw: so named from its position under the eye.

idiom:

1. cut one's eyeteeth ,

a. to gain sophistication or experience; become worldly-wise.

b. Also, cut one's eyeteeth on. to be initiated or gain one's first experience in (a career, hobby, skill, etc.).

2. give one's eyeteeth , to give something one considers very precious, usually in exchange for an object or situation one desires: She would give her eyeteeth for that job .

Origin:

Eyetooth came to English in the late 1500s as a blend of eye and tooth . This tooth received its name because of its position beneath or next to the eye.

Good Morning CGs!

Well it just started raining as I got out of the shower. Guess I won't be driving the vette today since the top is off as it sits in the garage. I still need to adjust the brake switch on it but no rush I guess. I actually enjoy driving it more with no torque converter lockup. It responds so much better. I really have to finish wiring the manual override switch for that and stop being lazy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Howdy! My Vette is also still topless and sitting in the garage, as it is supposed to rain today. We'll see - I haven't been rained out of golf league yet this year.

The Royals drubbed our hapless Twinkies by almost 2 touchdowns last night. You know it's bad when you flip on the game and one of the middle infielders is pitching.

Stay dry, Gurus!

Morning guys...Brad you're right, My Royals are on a roll. I didn't get to watch much of the game, but I saw more than enough. We've been on the other end for a long time, so I guess what goes around comes around.

We got a little shower last night during our golfing. Not enough to stop us but a nice little shower. then we got another in the middle of the night. We still need rain bad. East of us they have flooding and it has been a drought buster for them, but we are still 10" behind for the year. I hate the humidity we've had for the last several days, but that means we have a chance for rain.

All the flooding in eastern parts is actually good in one respect, the lakes and reservoirs are filling back up which means communities water supplies are building back up.

Not much planned for today. I need to go to the courthouse, I have a job to do there and I need to get a sample of wood to match stain. Still need to finish installing the new door on the entry closet too. And I still have one flex day to do at school.

Be careful out there and if you are tired of the moisture, stay dry. If you are like us, I hope you get some rain.

DNBFS

My neck's sore from snapping around to look at the HAN cars while I driving and HAN hasn't even started yet.

Hot August Nights isn't going to be hot, high temps - 92-84 and of course no rain.

Summit Racing Show & Shine tomorrow for classic car owners who are 16 - 21 years old.

Are there classic car owners that are 16 to 21 years old?

Morning all...foggy and damp and humid here but no rain from it yet. The work continues but things are going to start winding down as we progress through August. First week of September its usually all done and then they wait for the crops to dry down and get ready to harvest...its the circle of life....

I've had the GS just over a year now and other than not buying the extended warranty package on it (big mistake) I really am enjoying the car. It's a looker and I'm always getting compliments on it when out in it. Everyone likes the GS stripes on the front fenders.....funny that that is something that is pointed out.....like a 67 427 hood with the stinger hood stripes.....they are just supposed to be there.

GM is working with me on the fuel gauge problem and will share expenses but I don't know how much yet. I am inclined to leave it instead of having to drop the tranny and tear out the whole rear end to get at a stupid fuel sensor....it's idiotic....

Better get to work....have a fun one Guru's.....

Yup, I see a 68 Camaro, some Mustangs, old fixed up pickups leaving the High School every day. Neighbor's kid has a 72 Caddy and his brother has a 62 Chev Stepside.

Damn... back to work today.

I had fun driving the Vette this weekend without getting asphyxiated. I took it for a good ride yesterday on my day off. Hit several places between Annapolis and home staying as close to the waterfront as I could.

Wish my Orioles were doing as well as the Royals!!!

Well, it was fun having off but now I need to get status and get back to work.

Have a great day all.

There is a Mecum auction down in KC every winter and I keep wanting to go but know it would be hard for me to stay out of trouble......as that 64 Polara 500 rolls across the sales pit.....or that 55 with the big block in it...so many cars, so little money.......why I'd give my eyeteeth to have some of those beauties....

I'm busy as hell with no forseeable change in the near future . The wife has a good sized job starting Thursday in Key Largo. This one has been on hold for awhile. I have a delivery or two to make to that one. Deliveries are good. Means the company is making money.
Picked up the 91 from the dealership. Said it wasn't throwing any codes. The mechanic had a few hours into it following the diagnostic chart. They thought it was a communication error either the ECU or CCM. They gave it back to me "No charge" since they couldn't find anything. Got the car back to the house and into the garage. When Sue went to restart it to move it over a little, turned over but no start. There's a few things that'll need fixin around here. All of them come with a headache.

Ugh.. yes, back to work.. I actually have some work today.. trying to come up with a logo for a sprinkler company here "Wet All Over"... hmmmm - and on his truck tailgate he wants a man holding a limp hose watering a yard on one side and on the other he wants a lawn with all these sprinklers going and it to say "Do you want to be just wet? or... Wet all over..."... This is an older man - so I'm sure his mind is not in the gutter (rolleyes...)
I've been asked to do worse. My first week here, the boss wanted a new wrap on his truck and he hides hot women in there, and first thing I'm doing is looking through the art service at nekkid wimmin... There's a big-bewbied blonde on the roof of the truck..FYI...
anyway, more rain - they've increased the forecast, rain days scheduled now through next Thursday. My depression is really gonna be jacked from this....

Hemi, factory race motor.

I believe it was the car in the pic, I remember the hood scoop. Dick bought it from Bob Banning Dodge in Hyattsville, Md.
Banning ran the Bounty Hunters.

It was an automatic and from the factory, the gear indicator on the column read: R-N-1-2-3 , no park position.
